Has Season Four been good to Rarity?

I'd like to believe so.  We're going to receive "Inspiration Manifestation" soon, which will be a Spike/Rarity episode.  Even if S4 had been unintentionally the season of Applejack, who received five episodes so far, it's nice that the writers haven't forgotten Rarity and wrote not only a key episode for her, but also "Simple Ways" and "For Whom the Sweetie Belle Tolls", each of which she had to share with Applejack and Sweetie Belle, respectively.  Plus, she formed and led the Ponytones in "Filli Vanilli", so that has to count for something, right?

Oh, I think this season has been GREAT to Rarity.

To be honest, this might be my favorite season so far. But maybe that's because I just REALLY got into MLP when it started.

I've liked MLP since the first season, but yeah I've just really gotten into it even more recently. XD

Yes. Rarity takes Manehattan is by a lot of fans considered as one of the best episodes in the whole series and thanks to it amount of her fans/people who like her increased She had great supporting roles and she interacted with other characters very well (especially with Applejack and Fluttershy). We got some pretty memorable moments with Rarity (like her song in RTM or fake southern accent in Simple Ways) and she both brought and learned a lot through the whole season. While it was really weak season for Twilight or Rainbow, it was VERY good for Applejack and Rarity and I couldn't be more happy for both of them.

We got to see her go crazy (For whom the Sweetie Bell Tolls), and we got to see her have her own amazing episode full of songs. (Rarity takes Manehatten.)

 

Oh yeah, we got to see bumpkin/hick Rarity as well in that one episode where she was crushing over that one Stallion.

 

Yeah, this has been a pretty good season for her so far.

As a matter of fact, yes it has been good for Rarity. She's shown some growth in episodes like Rarity Takes Manehattan and has had other great roles throughout the season.

She's been getting a lot of good performances this season, although it seems like the writers have occasionally hijacked her fashion competence ("Rainbow Falls", "Maud Pie").  The only time where she came close to being slapped is "Simple Ways" where they played up all her negative traits to eleven which can understandably get annoying to some, but at the same time it's just plain funny to others.

 

But yes, I've liked they way they've done her this season for the most part, and helped me edge out Twilight as Best Pony.

This season has been EXCELLENT to Rares!

Seriously, they've gotten her characterization down to a T.

They desperately needed to make up ground for Season 3, given she had no episode and they seemed to struggle with her characterization at times, but they've more than made up with it for this season!

I won't lie; I'm a bit worried about "Inspiration Manifestation" simply because Powell has a say so in the writing of it. She can't write worth a shit, and I want her ass gone. She needs to go watch the show or something, because she can't write this amazing cast she's been given to play around with at all nor can she write an episode I'd like to consider canon.

 

Overall, she sucks as a writer and I don't care what happens to her or her family; I want her to get fired.

 

Seriously, she's god-awful at her job and why she still has it is beyond me.

The sheer amount of not only development, but also depth and history to this mare, makes this season a vital one for a Queen ra-ra fans.

 

 

I am one of the biggest Rarity fans, I am loyal to her like Dashie to a bad haircut, and I will tell you this season has blown my mind!

 

 

Most of all, I have noticed a huge amount of new Lady Rarity fans...you all must come to the pearl and purple!

I have been very disappointed by the lack of Rarity episode in season three like every other fan of her. But i think season four made up for it in a big way. Episodes like Rarity takes Manehatten and Sweetie Belle toils (which is pretty much a Sweetie/Rarity episode) skyrocketed up in my favorites list. I also think these two episodes did a great job at silencing her haters (which did not have much real backup to their criticism in the first place, but i guess some people need the sledgehammer to the face that is the generosity song).

 

it's great that so many people start to understand what is so awesome about the fabulous one.   It makes me very happy.

Yes. she was great in every episode she was in. Simple way had a rather negative portrayal of her, but it was pretty amusing. Plus, everyone has flaws don't they? All of her other episodes were fantastic anyway.

Especially what I bolded.  Applejack took over much of what was meant to be her baby sister's own episode ("Somepony to Watch Over Me").  So, we might as well say that Rarity did likewise with her baby sister's own episode, "For Whom the Sweetie Belle Tolls", though not as much.

Also, I could've mentioned this a long time ago, but in the comics, we had the "Nightmare Rarity" arc.  Yes, she was kidnapped and possessed in that arc, but that was closest I once received to a Rarity-focused storyline right after a disappointing Season Three that lacked a Rarity episode.

I think S4 has been good to Rarity, especially her inclusion in the Ponytones (with Big Mac's singing part. ^^), I loved her voice in that. ^^

Probably the best the show's EVER done for her.

 

She's been shown as kind, compassionate, a hard worker, a stressed worker, and they've instilled a sense of sympathy the show hasn't done before, showing the more genuine difficulties that comes with the career.

 

But most importantly, they've actually shown off her generosity. Sweet Goddess Claire, it's about freaking time. She takes time out of her schedule to make dresses for Sweetie Belle, offers employment for Coco...

It's done all of this, while also showing just how hard being generous can be and showing how very "human" faults can interfere with generosity and what it can do in the end.

 

This is the season where Rarity has shined brighter than any gemstone she's ever found and I cannot be grateful enough.

It is not new for Rares to put her friends before her career, and is not new for her to work herself silly to make gifts for her friends.

It's okay. I was just too butthurt again. My fault.

 

It is just like you said, her generous deeds have been more subtle and not as blatant as in season four. Some people just always somehow ignored her generous acts in the past. Don't know why that is. She was not always generous like the rest of the mane6 was not always in their element. But some people say that she was never in element. And that just bugs me.

I would say yes, because unlike what Season 3 couldn't do with Rarity this season was able to take what they should have done and use it to their advantage. Not only are her episodes giving her more growth and character development, but she has also been shown to be kind, compassionate, generous, and a hard worker.

 

This season has its ups and downs, but Rarity has shined above it all.

This season has been amazing for Rarity.

 

Rarity Takes Manehatten and For Whom the Sweetie Belle Toils are two of the best episodes of this season by far.

 

I liked her in Simple Ways a lot - even though she had a meltdown and needed to be slapped in the face by Applejack (who was fabulous, by the way), it was good characterization for her nonetheless.

 

Filli Vanilli shows a great side to Rarity as well. She and Fluttershy make great friends (as you can see in my avatar )

 

This season has been best season for Rarity. Now I feel like people can stop voting for Rarity in those "who represents their element of harmony the least" polls.
