gaming Worst game in your favorite gaming series

Ide have to say AssassinsCreed Unity, the others I enjoyed very much but Unity was just a glitchy nightmare bugfest, the story didn't interest me at all either. I missed the multiplayer very much and don't get me started on all the hype this game had, just made it a even worse experience.

I'm not really a fan of the sports games or educational games, but in the main series, my least favorite Super Mario game is Lost Levels. Basically this game had like 1 or 2 changes from the original (and people call NSMB repetitive) and it worked off having incredibly annoying and cheap level design. Even with the save ability in the All-Stars port, I just can't stand playing it.

Pokemon: Battle Revolution - Unless you have Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, and/or SoulSilver, you're stuck with a bare-bones cash-grab with little-to-no features.

Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance - Enjoy the unfair gameplay (Looking at you, Forced Drops.) and the main villain's cheap, unnecessary burial of all the other characters and all the previous games!

Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards was incredibly boring...

Not only did Kirby run really slow, but nearly all the copy abilities stopped your movement when you used them! And that one cool copy ability you really want? Good luck keeping it if you want the good ending! Nearly all the crystal shards had the copy ability you needed to solve whatever "puzzle" it was hiding behind (which was almost always just a wall with a certain color of a copy ability) right in front of it, so you couldn't keep the same ability for more than a few minutes before you had to ditch it for a crappier one. And I'm not going to be bothered to go back to an earlier level every time I beat one just to get a decent copy ability.

The ONLY good thing about this game was Zero two, which I could rant on and on about how awesome he is, but the game can't be saved by one good character; I'd say it's not worth the "effort" of playing through, but it really takes no effort to play either, even by Kirby's standards! It's just a borefest of moving from one side of the screen to the other..... very.... very.....slowly.... and completely halting your movement to kill every enemy that gets in your way.

I really really loved the Jak and Daxter series. Although I didn't play the first one, the second, third and racing games were awesome. Played those a lot. Especially number 3, which I almost got to 100% completion, and Jak X (Although a scratch on the disk prevented me from going further than I would have liked to).

The one that I really didn't enjoy though was Jak and Daxter: The lost frontier.

As a standalone game it was alright, but it didn't fit in to the series at all. All of the core elements were gone (Such as using Eco to boost your performance or different types of weapons). The animation and art style had changed. Most voice actors had changed and all of the comedic relief from the first games was gone. I believe the reason for the huge change was the change in developers. Instead of Naughty dog, it was rather High Impact games who opted for a more "Kid friendly" game. Jak and Daxter was never really for children. While nothing blatant was in it, there were lots of innuendos and adult jokes/references. And that was all removed in this game.

There was some good about it. The jet fighting was fun, but it was dull outside of a main mission as enemy spawns were decreased. Being able to upgrade weapons was also alright. You could get some good upgrades, but you had to find them throughout the world.

The actual game was alright, but it just didn't fit in to the series at all. So it didn't meet my expectations when I picked it up

Rayman - Rayman Advance.

Rayman® Advance | Game Boy Advance | Jeux | Nintendo

Port of the first Rayman game and it's not a good time. The music sounds awful and the screen crunch is dreadful. Rayman 1 is already difficult enough, but this is genuinely unbearable. I actually got a headache from playing it. :nom:

Pokemon - Pokemon Dash

Pokemon Dash! - IGN

Pokemon Dash. Interesting idea for a game, but execution is very weak. Top down perspective just does not work with this kind of game, so you're better off with anything else. I would like to see this idea given another shot, because there is potential here. :coco:

Sonic - Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood.

Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood playthrough [Part 2] - YouTube

The first time Sonic has been in an RPG and probably the last too, because this game is awful. It was one of the first DS games I owned as well. The only saving grace is the fun you can have with the dialogue trees.  Objectively, something like Sonic Genesis is worse, but I was fortunate enough to never had played that game. :yuck:

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

Metal Gear - Survive. Probably not the best idea for the first game for them to make after the very explosive Kojima firing to be something as creatively bankrupt as a generic zombie survival game

Zelda - Phantom Hourglass. entirely because of the Temple of the Ocean King. If that thing wasn't as prevalent, repetitive, an just so goddamn unfun as it was, it would have been a comfortable mid-tier Zelda if they just made it an endgame dungeon

Megaman - X7 easily. Game is just a slog to play and control. Making the main character unlockable was unbelievably boneheaded

I could spend hours talking about favourite franchises here, so let's just look at some highlights that came up as I was writing this :P

Crash Boom Bang (Nintendo DS)

bffa8c0e7168768efb41cdae9aea55bf-320-80.

It's not even a contest anymore, if I had to make a list of "Worst stuff I have ever played", that would be at the bottom *easily*, not even just worst game in its series. It is non-functional at best and actively harmful to play. I still can't wait to play its Japan-only sequel though! It can't be any worse... right?

Wily & Right no RockBoard (Famicom)

image.png.20402dc2405d41d75110c4bfed18d62d.png

It's not like I have much confidence in calling this "the worst game in the series", but it's definitely the most stupid of them all, so it kind of qualifies for me. Have you ever wanted to play Monopoly with Megaman characters, and have it be more boring? Because if you do, I got the game for you!

Sonic Jam (Game.com)

image.png.f5438b929e1ec6f75d089c0b18a8a47b.png

Say what you will about all the other infamously terrible Sonic games, at least they *are* games, they can be played most of the time, and have music that doesn't drive one to insanity, this one doesn't even count as a game.

Devil May Cry 2 (Playstation 2)

image.png.5054b790b8281a49312ce3ef91d2b660.png

Some people may swear by the DmC reboot being worse, but at least the reboot can be genuinely fun if you ignore its atrociously awful story and has some actually nice ideas. This game doesn't even have that, as once you ignore the bad story, you get a barely functional gameplay loop where you *may* be able to do cool things, but they don't feel good to perform at all due to very questionable design choices.

Probably adding to this

Metroid - Other M. A very ambitious title that got almost everything wrong unfortunately. Wanted to make Samus a more complex character, but just made her look weak. Made Adam Malkovich a very unlikeable character. Not being able to use certain abilities until you're told to is just a really dumb design choice.

Final Fantasy - Having not played All The Bravest, I'll go with Mystic Quest. It's just not a very good game. Combat is too simple and characters, world, and story are just very unremarkable and uninteresting

Star Fox - Zero. The motion controls really just bring the game down, you spend a lot of time fighting the controls more than the actual enemies in the game. But even if those were addressed, it's still just a not a good or interesting game. 10 year wait for a new game and the best you could do is a retelling of a reimagining of a game you just remade 5 years earlier(see how many "re-"s there are?) When the game is being compared to NSMB, that's probably not a good thing

Resident Evil - Honestly there's plenty you could probably put here like Survivor and Umbrella Corp and they'd be appropriate, but from the ones I've played it's Operation Racoon City. They tried hard to go after the CoD crowd even more than RE6, and it just didn't land at all

Yakuza - Dead Souls easily. Another zombie game for a franchise that really doesn't warrant it. It's a better effort that MG Survive admittedly, it still has a bit of Yakuza's trademark silliness from time to time(Daigo crossdressing, Majima being Majima), but the series has notoriously bad gun combat and building an entire game based around said gun combat wasn't the best idea. Unfortunately the game had a huge part in the series being put on ice in the west until Yakuza 0 came out

Worst game in my favorite gaming series? Well it's an easy question, but i'll explain why although If i had have to pick 1.

Pokemon unite - one of the worst MOBA games that i ever played. What happened is that the companies and devs don't care about their player base and the current state of the game and demands on the fixes have been extremely high and the game cares about money and p2w players. The other part that came worst for this game is bad and toxic behavior since people aren't taking the matches far too seriously by pinging on the teammates for no reason and they just get themselves under their skin and loses focus on the game and the match. The bot matches are just the worst because the bot teammates have absolutely no defense, less scoring, doing full retreat too much, gaining energy regardless if they're full or not, and doesn't know how to use swap properly in catrch'em mode which results their AI behavior being too acceptable. The player reports on idle players aren't enough to get'em out of the game and matches for good even though it's just becoming heavy burden on the team and i have to report these idle players since they're drawing too much suspicious attention to both teams knowing that i have to use and trust my best judgement on them. Newly released and overpowered pokemon which makes the game and matches far too unplayable since they're being too dominant in matches. Lastly, the matchmaking, unfortunately it was on high demand and they want a fair match. using the win rate as a matchmaking rating doesn't work at all and matchmaking for bot matches have gotten out of hand as well which results having less players to play with and against them. Overall, the negative reviews have been coming a lot on the app store which is taking a impact on both switch and mobile systems.

Fallout - It’s Brotherhood of Steel without a doubt. I have a hard time even calling that a Fallout game honestly because it’s just a generic game with the Fallout name slapped on it.
