If Obama openly admitted to loving MLP:FiM, what would happen?

I'm sure there would be a line created that starts with, "the same President who _____ is the same President who watches a show about talking ponies". I'm sure he would get a combination of love and hate from the US population. I don't think other countries would be immature about such a statement.

 

Lastly, it would just be an interest to state. No big deal right? Hopefully nobody would lose their mind.

I'm not sure if Obama even is capable of enjoying Friendship Is Magic. I think that in order to genuinely enjoy it and cherish it, one prerequisite is that you have to be a basically decent person. After looking at his administration's abuses (killing thousands of Middle Eastern civilians with drone strikes, NSA 4th Amendment violations, not closing Guantanamo Bay as he promised he would, etc.) it's obvious that he doesn't meet that prerequisite.

If he were to do that it would probably be used as a distraction from all the other more important stuff going on, people would attack him for that and some bronies would come to his defense. In terms of global politics not much would really change except for maybe some international media coverage which amounts to "why the hell did he say that now?"  Think about it what would you rather be attack for, something trivial such as liking cartoon ponies or something serious like civil liberties violations? Breaking promises to end all these senseless wars and even starting some new ones? The deficit continuing to skyrocket? The value of the dollar continuing to go down the toilet putting us at ever increasing risk of hyper inflation? Something like ponies is a very good way to get the general public who have the attention span of gerbils on red bull to focus on something else, anything else.

As much as I love MLP, I would find it annoying that the President of the United States would take time out of his schedule to bring up My Little Pony; regardless of who is the president. I'm under the assumption that the president should have more important things to discuss and deal with than a cartoon/toyline.

Would it create hostility towards us from the other nations? Would America be mocked? Would Obama ever live it down? Would Americans see it as a harmless and charming, or would they question the legitimacy of Obama's presidency afterwards? Would any and all of Obama's efforts to be taken seriously from that point on, be thwarted completely? 

 

I know this would never happen, and it's completely hypothetical, but I'm genuinely curious to know what you guys think. I'm sure most of us would get a huge laugh out of it, but in a very serious global sense, do you think that would be a career killer for the President?

 

Edit: And yes, I know he's on his last term, and right now his words and ideas mean less and less towards the end of his presidency, but just apply the situation to if he was on his first term instead. Or if our new President were to do something like that right after he got elected.

If Obama were watching My Little Pony on a regular basis (without his daughters), it would raise a few eyebrows. None of us can estimate exactly how much of an impact it would make, but when you consider how bizarre bronies are to the mainstream media outlets, they'd definitely have a heyday with it, and I could see Republicans referencing it a lot in order to make the President seem less powerful and more effeminate.

Since the creation of television, has news of what ANY president watches made it out to the public? Why would it now? With his uncovered cigar activities, I would say there's a very strong possibility that Bill Clinton watched gonzo-pornography in the white house! Nothing of that leaked. I would also guess that G.W. Bush watched a lot of westerns. What difference did that make? It's not like it would make other nations hate us any less!

I wouldn't care if he admitted it or not, his job as the President is more important to me and so far I'm not too happy with it. But he's only one man, motivated by any typical politition and corraled by puppets of Congress...one can hope the next President will do SOME improvements to our economy.

As I recall Bill Clinton leaked a certain something onto a blue dress and everyone went apeshit while many of the republican politicians calling for his ended up getting caught with their pants literally down as well. The guy got impeached for getting a blowjob when the next president and the one we have now are turning America into a police state and are yet to be held accountable for any of that and their numerous other screw ups that warrant impeachment. So Obama would probably not be impeached for a liking a show about cartoon ponies but the fact still is that a significant portion of the American population gets outraged over trivial BS and dosen't even care about the stuff that really matters. The good news is that even people that were previously asleep are starting to realize how hard they are getting screwed over but the amount of sheep who still say "bah" no matter what happens is infuriating to me.
