All the games were easy to me as far as playablility is concerned. Of course, I've been a poke-fanatic since Red/Blue hit store shelves.....I actually have to consciously make the games more challenging for me when it comes to replay value....Although, the hardest game to get through that B.O.R.E.D. me was the Diamond/Pearl/Platinum games....I don't know why, call it puberty or personal oversaturation, but that generation was hard to get through because I was honestly bored with that generation. Never had that with others....

Easiest is without a doubt X/Y, though I've heard it's tough if you don't use the Exp. Share.

Hardest? Probably Red/Blue. Especially with that steep level curve between the 4th and 5th gym. Also, the glitches that make some moves useless (Focus Energy, for instance, LOWERS the chance of getting a critical hit) or too powerful (Razor Leaf always gets a critical hit, as do some other moves).

Y'know, I've been on this site for almost ten years and I've never had a proper signature. Ain't that something?

Easiest game: Pokémon X and Y. Hands down easiest Pokémon game I ever played. Everything about it was easy and so was the champion. She was a pushover.

Hardest Pokémon game: Pokémon diamond. That game's so hard, I'm still trying to beat it.

For me, Red was the hardest. That may be due to the fact that older games were more challenging, but it may also be due to the fact that it was my first video game and I was but a wee lad. I haven't played the newer generations, but as I recall Diamond (before the event that ruined my jr. high years) being fairly easy, but it has been a while.

Hardest Pokemon Game for me would be Pokemon Ranger 1 because you have to plan and use the pokemon assists Carefully to clear the game. Pokemon Main Series isn't that hard for me because obviously I'm a good strategist and plan my pokemon team and their moves carefully and as well as stocking up many healing items as I can. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon isn't that hard for me, but what annoys me is traps such as warp and Zero-PP traps. Pokemon Rumble increases difficulty as I go through the game so it's not that hard. Rumble Blast is more difficult as the story advances and increasing world rank. Pokemon Battle revolution increases difficulty depending on the stadium you clear the most and can go up to rank 10.

The top2 Hardest Pokemon Games would be Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2, but Mostly Pokemon Stadium 2 is the most difficult game. Pokemon Stadium 1 shouldn't be that much difficult if you plan your moves carefully, but Paralysis is the key in winning your battles in pokemon stadium 1. Both Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2 tests your knowledge and luck, but mostly luck because you don't want your opponents to score a critical and a OHKO.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon is awesome and whoever says that X and Y are the easiest clearly have never played on the worldwide scale. Your exp shared pokemon are useless in battle. With EV's IV's, natures, move pools, all the things added to it the extended wifi game world will put you in your place. I can admit one thing, the Japanese X and Y battlers are nigh undefeatable, even with EV'd, IV'd, prefered nature and such. I basically give up when I see the red dot of death, they are the very best at what they do. At least with the other games you didn't have to go up against juggernaughts like them.

I've never had to call a core Pokemon game hard. Sure, you may lose the occasional battle here and there, but with just several minutes of grinding, you can quickly out-level the opponent. The older games were a lot more rough, and there was a more challenging incline of difficulty, but nothing to make it obscenely hard.

The Mystery Dungeon series is certainly more challenging, to me. In the same vein, a little grinding can help a ton, but there is certain instances that make it harder that you just wouldn't find in the core games, due to the game genre. Sometimes you'd get wrecked by something you can't even see. Like 3 Nidoqueens using simultaneous Earthquakes at the other end of a room. Or having ghost/flying types sit in the out-of-bounds area and shoot projectiles at you.

My first pokemon games were the original red blue and yellow . When it came to team building I was great.... up to the league. I really didn't understand anything apparently and would always swap out the team I raised for the three legendary birds. This was quite the mistake as I would not get far in the league. I had the right idea strategy wise running weaknesses but failed somewhere else. Gen to came around I had a somewhat easier time but never made it past trainer red. Gen 3 rolls around and suddenly I'm conquering everything. Went back to play the first two gens and suddenly I was unstoppable. Seems as the "newer gens are easier" thing is quite exact.
