Any other ponies fans of film from across the ocean? Discuss and recommend films! Two of my favorites (both which star Choi Min Sik, a fantastic Korean actor)

Oldboy: The film follows the story of one Oh Dae Su who is locked in a hotel room for 15 years without knowing his captor's motives. When he is finally released, Dae-su finds himself still trapped in a web of conspiracy and violence.

I Saw The Devil: When his pregnant fiancee becomes the latest victim of a serial killer, a secret agent blurs the line between good and evil in his pursuit of revenge.

I'm a huge fan of Jackie Chan's earlier work such as Drunken Master and the epic Drunken Master 2.

There was also Once Upon A Time In China, which stars a young Jet Li during the Boxer Rebellion, quite dramatic stuff.

And moving a little further to the southeast, Ong-Bak which I can barely remember but absolutely LOVING the hell out of.

OH OH OH, and The Host, a great Korean horror movie with some black comedy elements in it.

Stephen Chow, I got to say his films really have some of the most amazingly funny scenes I gave ever seen on film.

Also Dragon Ball: The Magic Begins was actually a descent adaptation, at least compared to Dragon Ball Evolution.

I know it's tuff but let's all try to stop playing violent videogames, violent TV, violent thinking, and just violence in general.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many to list down individually. I liek:

Japanese/Korean horror, action, some dramas and anime

Kungfu and "epic" or period films from China

HK police/action stuff

Some Thai movies - Legend of Queen Suriyothai, Shutter; Ong Bak was so-so

the Phua Chu Kang comedy series from Singapore

Denz has been introducing me to Asian cinema and OMFG I am loving it! Not so much the cheesey kung fu movies, but the actual big budget movies. Previously I had only ever watched Godzilla movies and live action anime remakes.

current faves so far:

Old Boy (love this), Ong bak, Battle Royale, Shaolin Soccar (yes cheesy), Kung Fu Hustle

and my biiiig fave: The Good, The Bad and the Weird - seriously one of the best films I have ever seen! The soundtrack is also amazing!

South Korea know how to do good films!
