PsychedelicPony 440 April 29, 2014 Share April 29, 2014 It is because of the fear created in society toward sexuality and objectification of particular body parts. The objectification is cultural, in the West breasts are seen as objects of sexual desire, but other places they are not. The fear toward sexuality has a lot of causes, some religious, some social acceptability, and finally the fact that sex is handled with kid gloves most of the time. Karma Lightwing 245 April 29, 2014 Share April 29, 2014 I saw a lot of people mention brainwashing and the bible... have you ever thought that it might be more influenced by weather and the fact that a lot of people would freeze to death or die from illnesses because of the cold on certain times of the year. Especially in northern countries. I think weathersituations are more influental on this than the bible is honestly. Deserts too would eat off your flesh if you didn't wear clothing and there is also a lot of the opposite problems in hot countries where direct sunlight might cause problems too. In other words, clothing may have been made as a protective means and later on been adapted as a cultural standard too for means of beauty. So everyone who went straight to the brainwash and bible comments, shame on you. At least stay a little scientific about it Clothing existed long before the bible was ever written. For the rest of you i saw a lot of good arguments about hygiene and culture, these are probably also part of it. But i guess more into the crossculture influence. 2 Silly muffins, of course i have to eat you.
Hive King 2,001 April 29, 2014 Share April 29, 2014 The real question is this: Why is it okay to show every part of a boob, except for the nipple? Presumably, the nipple is indeed the more sensitive part of the boob in sex, therefore, it's more erotic to show it than not. I know for a fact that nipples can be used as a rough gauge of sexual turn ons 1 "Aren’t we the same? You know, aren’t you carrying the same mindset as I am? GONEFOREVER 518 April 29, 2014 Share April 29, 2014 Because a long time ago, a man wrote a book describing his beliefs. Part of his beliefs were that people should be clothed in public. His belief grew and grew, parts changed, and now most people agree. Logical reason: People wear clothes because we get cold. 1 GONE

Seriously, can you think of any other animal on this planet that shields itself with plant matter even when the weather around them is just fine? But in Japan, all pornography is censored by the government, and is punishable by fines if you posses or make uncensored pr0n.I believe that law was rescinded decades ago, but the censorship had created a fetish in Japanese culture and so artists will still censor porn for that reason. Shanks 10,817 April 29, 2014 Share April 29, 2014 I think the reason why nudity is such a big deal is because we are not used to seeing it in a public context and because of that nudity ended up becoming sexualized and this sexualization resulted in societies creating taboos against public nudity. I will admit that seeing people naked would probably get me turned on for this very reason, it didn't start out as naughty but became naughty. To put this in perpective take the ponies, they are usually naked but their nudity is not seen as sexual because it is the socially accepted natural state of being. But I have noticed that a lot of pictures with ponies wearing clothes tends to make said pictures seem even more suggestive than if they weren't wearing anything. Kind of strange how things work out sometimes. 3 Rarity Get's Cockroaches
TheMarkz0ne 962 April 29, 2014 Author Share April 29, 2014 Tell me why it's not wrong, I'm all ears. Well aside from environmental hazards.. You're a human! What is so bad about seeing someone else nude, when you are self ware that you're naked on your own time. To me it is just odd that people are afraid of their largest organ in their body. Also again we love violence in cinema but some nude people? That stuff is so bad. It's like people who're afraid of skeletons.
Lightwing 12,980 April 29, 2014 Share April 29, 2014 The reason of people being scared of naked people is a simple case of civil fear. Since we're small, adult people and the world teach us only the animals walk nakes through their lifes, remarking their "naked behavior" as unmoral. We think on naked people as "Icky" and "Weird",but,in truth, isn't nothing abnormal, since our ancester walked naked on a beggining, but they started to usue clothes as a warming method.Since then, the society started to say that,to distingue ourselves from the animals,we must wear clothes. Frith is Magick 1,472 April 29, 2014 Share April 29, 2014 When you think about it, the human body is incredibly weak. We have thin skin prone to burning and abrasion and no fur to protect us from the cold. We have to steal the skins of other animals or use plants to shield ourselves. The thing I wonder about is wht clothes would have looked like before the development of tools, such as knives. Killing an animal is one thing, skinning it to use the hide for clothing, though, would have been a challenge without a knife (and by knife I mean any sharp and relatively thin object). Even creating clothing from plants would be a royal pain. But enough of that, before I ramble. Are babies ashamed to be naked? I think not. The reason that changes over time is that they are trained as such. When you eliminate the survival factor, humans are really only disturbed by nudity because that is how we have always been raised. There is nothing wrong with it in and of itself, but our culture over time has deemed it inappropriate (granted, western culture has an iffy track record, but changing a mindset is no easy task). 2 Keep flyin'

It's like people who're afraid of skeletons. Some people are scared of skeletons, don't ask me why. And the thing is that most people don't really want to see each other so closely. If you want a different point, then nudity is special since only couples are supposed to do it 1 "Aren’t we the same? You know, aren’t you carrying the same mindset as I am? Guest April 29, 2014 Share April 29, 2014 If you want my honest answer, I'd say I'm not and most aren't unless the people aren't attractive haha. I have no problem with attractive guys and girls being nude. But I do not wish to see unattractive people naked. That's just me. People a lot of times are raised to be modest or even prude, so it's sorta taboo I guess.

I believe that law was rescinded decades ago, but the censorship had created a fetish in Japanese culture and so artists will still censor porn for that reason. That's a very moot point. Most animals have fur and feathers to deter the giant death ball in the sky, or if they're like elephants, they do something like bathe themselves in sand to keep cool. Weather can be just fine, but we're still being bathed in UV rays most hours of the week. Last time I heard, it's still going on. Saw a documentary about it not too long ago. Well aside from environmental hazards.. You're a human! What is so bad about seeing someone else nude, when you are self ware that you're naked on your own time. To me it is just odd that people are afraid of their largest organ in their body. Also again we love violence in cinema but some nude people? That stuff is so bad. It's like people who're afraid of skeletons.*I'm assuming you meant environmental hazards from being naked* It's not at all like skeletons. Our naked body represents things of a sexual and private nature. We, as the dominant species of the planet, have evolved to realize that. I guarantee you that if cows became the next sentient species and started doing people things, they'd start wearing clothes. Have you read my long post? I'm pretty okay with violence>nudity. People treat sexuality as a glorified commercial and use it to sell products. That's what the "human body is nothing to be ashamed of" argument bas led to. The reason of people being scared of naked people is a simple case of civil fear. We became civilized, evolved from animals (both mentally and physically). ^Click for my Deviant Art^ You truly are the Rosa Parks of not understanding what r34 is. (prediction time 0-0) Long ago, a little after after cloths where invented, somebody decided not to use them. Other people saw him and frowned upon his action, because it was the "old way", and it had become odd to see people without cloths on. Have a pleasant day, Officer Devin Lewis. Espurr 449 April 29, 2014 Share April 29, 2014 Oh, it's not that I don't like nude people. I just feel the need to look away and not be nude. Besides all that, I don't like germs a lot. I think you're less likely to get germs on you if you're not nude. Besides that being nude has bad benefits as well. And since we were all taught to feel uncomfortable around the nude people since we were born, I think that being nude over selves around others is more likely to make us mentally scarred about how others will look at us forever. SkyDream 315 April 29, 2014 Share April 29, 2014 The genitals leak fluids and offend people, unless specific actions are taken to avoid such a thing. The mouth leaks fluids and has a high potential to offend people, unless specific actions are taken to avoid such a thing. Dangly bits and assorted holes going all in and out of a person can offend, just like fingers, being dangly bits, going in and out of things, and be used to poke people and offend with just a raise of a single middle digit. Just like when some other digit is raised. Some people think that's a complement. ;] ----------------- Story time. Probably very unrelated. But it has an interesting point. A few years ago I visited a good friend from another state. Her and her girlfriend are pretty loose, in terms of relationships. One day, we all suggested we spend the whole day together in the nude. That would have been my first time doing such a thing, but I'm a very open person when other people are equally as open, and I agreed. Initially, it was slightly awkward, I think. People were afraid to move close to each other, but general amiability took hold, and video games ensued. Eventually we made pancakes! They were delicious, thank you. We made pancakes in the buff. At some point, and I'm really unsure as to which point, the pancakes took the focus away, and we were just talking about pancakes and different recipes. Then one of us noticed that we were naked because she banged her breast on a lamp. How did we even forget that we were naked? That was the astonishing thing about it all. We were just going about our business like nothing was wrong. We got used to it. We may as well have been wearing clothes. ----------------- Also, remember when "damn" and "bastard" used to be bad words? They gradually became slightly less and less offensive with time and use. What if the same concept applies here. You slowly introduce parts of the body to be exposed, and eventually everyone is naked and everything is fine. Big deal. I remember a thought-form experiment where someone took female nipples and photoshopped them into the matching places on a male model's body, and photoshopped male model nipples onto a female's body, while leaving the surrounding breast the same. I have no idea how they thought blacking out the male's chest was the thing to do while leaving the entire breast of the female fully exposed. My mind reeled at the thought of it.
