Tirek: G1 vs G4(Spoilers for those who didn't watch Twilight's Kingdom)

So here it goes, folks.  It's a battle of who the better Tirek is.

 

First one is the Original Generation 1 Tirek.  His goal was the capture of four ponies(No Foals).  With the power of his rainbow of Darkness, Tirek could transform the Ponies into monsters.  They were needed to pull his chariot so that he could bring forth the eternal night.  Mostly, he would have his minions do his dirty work as he spread fear across Dream Valley, and would not tolerate any form of failure or treachery(As he would be willing to behead Spike for the failure of his servant Scorpan).  He was defeated, and ultimately destroyed, when Megan released the Rainbow of Light to purify his Rainbow of Darkness.

 

The second one is the Friendship is Magic Tirek.  Unlike the original, Tirek did not have any minions save for a face-heel-turn Discord.  Even more so, he was willing to manipulate those into working for him, only to betray them in the end and take their power.  Speaking of which, he could absorb any form of magic and become more powerful, leading to a violent clash with Princess Twilight Sparkle.  Like his G1 counterpart, he was defeated in the end by the Rainbow of Light, only it was caused by the Mane 6 and he was sealed back into Tatarus.

 

Okay folks.  Now it's your choice.  Who is the better Tirek?  G1 or G4?

G4 Tirek is so badass. Just look at his fight against Twilight.

I've heard about G1 Tirek, never got the chance to see the episode of which he was in. But, I do think that G4 Tirek is pretty powerful.

Okay now I know about him. I think G1 Tirek is powerful, but G4 Tirek has the advantage with Magic absorption.

Yea, I gotta go G4 because of how OP he was. Not even Discord was safe from his magic drain ability. Not to mention he stood against an alicorn with four times the legal limit of alicorn mojo all crammed into one.

I like G1 Tirek he was a monster, but G4 Tirek makes even him seem like a newborn foal so I am going with G4 Tirek.

G1 Tirek's only real claim to badness was threatening to behead Spike, but it was pretty good. I was disappointed G4 Tirek didn't make the same threat.

 

G4 Tirek, however, was a more hands-on bad guy, though, so, I think the edge has to go there.

Yup, Tirek telling Scorpan that Spike's head would roll if he didn't do his bidding wouldn't fly with the Y7 censors. But Dragonball style fight scenes apparently do.   

 

Unfortunately, we never really got to see the full extent of G1 Tirek's power because the rainbow cut him down too soon.  We got to see the abilities of the FiM version so he wins this contest as the bigger badass of the two.

We shouldn't forget that Tirek from G1 had apparently conquered other countries/places, since Scorpan was the king/prince of a country that Tirek took over. Or at least that's how I remember the end of the G1 episode. Scorpan turned back into a human and explained that his country had been taken over (sorry haven't seen it in a while). Soo, Tirek in G1 had already taken over another country.

 

While as far as we know with G4 Tirek, he tried to conquer the ponyworld twice and was defeated both times...while the G1 version of him already had another place under his power.

G4 Tirek was by far more bad ass

 

But I think that the G1 Tirek was... darker

 

Despite everything G4T did... he didn't take that step into... causing harm. Ya he sucked away all their magic but nothing was said or shown about causing harm

 

G1T physically attacked, captured and altered 4 ponies in what would have been a horrendous process both mind and body. And so in that light, I have to give my props to G1T

in a contest for better villain? G1 easily.

 

Still, like them both, they're my favourites for their respective generations.
