Mushroom Mutate 69 May 12, 2014 Share May 12, 2014 I was wondering, what amazes you? Like really makes you shocked. For me, its just the fact that humans and dogs, live together in harmony. Its a small thing but, don't you think its awesome that 2 completely different species live together in happiness? 4 -Mushroom Mutate /)

Azure Envy 1,092 May 12, 2014 Share May 12, 2014 The fact that we are all alive. With all the things that can go wrong, sometimes it's difficult to imagine how everything just seems to... work. I'm speaking from the standpoint of biological science, but this could apply to pretty much anything, I guess.
Jeric 46,860 May 12, 2014 Share May 12, 2014 That a society of hunter gatherers fighting to survive day to day would eventual make the pyramids, unlock complex math to explain gravity, catalog millions of creatures ... and then would stand in a grocery store and be swayed by cartoon bears selling butt wipe. That an entire people would look the other way while millions suffered and died under Nazi Germany That we have recently invented a cheap accessible way to communicate every idea conceivable ... in a sense remaking Alexandria ... and a Korean music artist, a odd facially deformed cat, and a guy with a weird fascination/hatred/fear of ducks would be the most viewed/shared items. That a late 30's man could sit down with his two teenage daughters and comfortably denounce all social conventions that he was conditioned to believe by watching a show of candy colored talking equines. That a society born from primitive cultures that told stories and painted animals on walls many millennia ago, still does the same thing. That people still love to read, for the fun of reading. Looking up at the stars and acknowledging the dichotomy in the fact that I am so small and insignificant compared to the universe and all we know, but simultaneously witnessing the positive impact I have on guiding other human beings on their life's journey directly shaping the lives of those that mean the most to me. So much amazes me; The sobering and poetic realities our song and legacy.

Scoots and Dash 208 May 12, 2014 Share May 12, 2014 Life in general amazes me. I wonder, what is our purpose? To survive? We've seem to have accomplished that a bit too well. Survival is no longer hard in todays society. Everything is so modern that when people get lost or stuck out in the wilderness they die because they have no clue how to actually survive. I feel like we've become to rely on technology and society a bit too much and it makes us vulnerable. The way the system works now: you're born, you goto school for 12 years, goto college, marry and have children, struggle by with some job you wouldn't of had to settle with without children, retire, deteriorate, and die. Some people are lucky, and get to do what they love, but most of the time it's literally "Just a bunch of apes running around trying to make a name for themselves". It's no longer a means of survival, but of recognition. 7 billion people and you just want to be remembered after you die, so that your life meant something. At least, that's just my outlook on things. What do I know though. Only really old people should be giving you speeches like this, I'm only 17. That's another thing I hate. Just because someone isn't older means that their opinions are biased because they haven't "lived long enough" to know about such things. 2 Thanks to )O( Scarlet )O( for the signature! Hyper Tumble 1,483 May 13, 2014 Share May 13, 2014 The human body. Not for beauty, but because of how complex it is. There are certain things that could kill you instantly if it weren't exactly correct, yet billions are completely unaffected. The fact that the brain can tell certain parts of the body to preform its tasks without you even having to think about it? Astonishing. The fact that the most intelligent creature to walk the earth is born from a microscopic organism, beating out millions of others? awesome. SkyDream 315 May 13, 2014 Share May 13, 2014 Everything amazes me. I probably have a neurological disorder. But it's a lot of fun, and I love both life and death and everything in between, .... and somehow having absolutely everything be amazing somehow lessens the impact of it all. So now it's normal to be amazing, so everything is normal. Or normally amazing. This is terrible. Amazingly terrible and terribly amazing. But if I had to pick a thing, it's that people don't know that they can choose their own reactions to things. People haven't really realized yet that they can give themselves a little bit of a grace periods with which to react to a potentially hateful comment and just forgive them. If you can see this, this is a good reason why.
Lightning Bliss 1,674 May 13, 2014 Share May 13, 2014 One thing on a postive side that amazes me is the human ability to keep going even when they are near death's door. No matter hard their life gets or how depressing, sad or hopeless, there are those people who find a way to crawl out of the pit and into the light again. On the negative side that something that amazes me is all the different forms of cruelty. Just when I think I've seen it all, something new to how to treat people horrible comes around. It's always horribly amazing to me. I'm just a silly little alicorn, trying to get by in the fandom ^^ The Lightning Bliss Show Lightning Bliss DevianArt
Demirari 454 May 13, 2014 Share May 13, 2014 What amazes me? Carbon. That atom had to be the most useful thing in the world and dare I say it… the Universe. First thing off: life is centered around Carbon. We are made up of Carbon and we are beings of Carbon. 2nd: Minerals such as Diamond are tough and strong. They are made up of Carbon. 3rd: Graphene. Wonderful material that is made up of… Carbon. 4th: Carbon-fiber. Made up of Carbon. 5th: Rubber. Guess what? Carbon. To me, Carbon is really an amazing atom that could be used to create a large variety of stuff that is useful to humanity. From daily things we take for granted to new wonder material.
multifacetedbrony 88 May 13, 2014 Share May 13, 2014 Life in general - nature and the human body are so incredibly complex. That people honestly can't see destroying our planet and being awful to each other isn't a good idea. The beautiful, wonderful things people can create in terms of art, music, literature etc, including really amazing films and TV shows. Sleep - the way we just pass out for several hours but have dreams and so on, and we can't live without doing it! And to counter the bad point from earlier, people also amaze me with their braveness, selflessness and generosity sometimes. Oh, and space. The sheer scale of everything blows my mind.

Arctic Night 884 May 14, 2014 Share May 14, 2014 This is what amazes me. Every atom in your body came from a star that exploded. At some point, a star- a massive ball of burning gas, exploded, shedding its cosmic tears so that you could exist. And whenever you look up at the night sky, you are a means for the Universe to know itself. This doesn't even "amaze" me. It is completely and utterly, no puns intended, mind blowing. 1 Sig made by Kyoshi. GhostPony750 959 May 14, 2014 Share May 14, 2014 Rocks amaze me. They are absolutely everywhere, they are both the most resistant material, and as hard as soap. They are every colors, shape, they even let the light pass. One is even partially made of water. They are the most prized products, the most beautiful, the most useful. They can even conserve traces of life. Yet, everyone ignore them. I always look on the ground for them.

Teabee 59 May 14, 2014 Share May 14, 2014 The convergence of technology and cultural attitudes that have come together to create the exact circumstances and environment in which a person like me could thrive. You know how some people say that they were born in the wrong time? Well I was born in exactly the right time. I don't think I could live the kind of lifestyle I've become accustomed to if I didn't have all the things I do right now. Whether it's a computer with internet access or the many different kinds of food that I like eating. Literally, if I had been born a few decades sooner I don't think my life would have been nearly as good or as happy as it is right now. I'm pretty thankful for that.
