Why do I dislike Christmas? Well I've had some rather unpleasant experiences from it...I used to outright HATE it. But now I feel dislike is the better term.

1. Mario. Don't get me wrong, I don't exactly hate him. And I loved his games when I was a kid. I mean who wouldn't? The Paper Mario games were awesome. But I think that he's just "meh". I just really don't get what's so amazing about him...Why do so many people like him so much and worship him so much? I just think he's way too overworshiped and overrated. I really don't see what's so great about him and why he's so famous...And why do people prefer him over all the other videogame heroes? And I think it's much more fun to slash up monsters with a sword or shoot them up with a gun or actually be able to punch and kick than it is to run around stomping on turtles and living mushrooms. Plus we've also got the fact that he's dead in only one hit and a maximum of only two hits...I find that very lame...

Almost all of the music played on the radio.  Lady Gaga, Maroon 5, Black Eyed Peas, Adele, rap music, country music, as well as classic music (especially from the Rolling Stones and Queen).

1. My birthday is December 5, so often times in my childhood I had to choose between getting birthday gifts OR Christmas gifts; I always chose birthday.

2. With that thought in mind, I hate hearing a bunch of horrendous Christmas music while I shop for myself on/around my birthday; it wouldn't be so bad if the majority of what I hear sounded decent, but most of it sounds like garbage... much like regular radio time.

3. Jesus wasn't born near December 25; if people read the Bible and understood Jewish customs, then everyone would know that he was born somewhere between mid-September and early-October.

4. "Happy Holidays" and "Seasons Greetings" are BS expressions that stores use in a futile attempt to sound tolerant while shoving Christmas down everyone's throats through imagery.

5. Hanukkah is more fun.

I got some good ones that might make some heads turn.
 
Certain Looney Tunes characters.  Like Wile E. Coyote and Roadrunner.  I sympathize with Wile E, he's just trying to hunt his food down in the worst way possible by ordering products from a failed company.  I just don't find those cartoons funny.  Kinda like the cartoons with Sylvester the cat and Tweety Bird or Elmer Fudd and Bugs Bunny.  Elmer's hungry and Bugs is being an asshole (but that's whats funny about it hur hur hur).  No it's not.  I don't find ummmm... schadenfreude humor funny.  Unless the Looney Tunes characters break the fourth wall which gets a chuckle out of me here and there.  HOWEVER I find Three Stooges funny and that's tons of schadenfreude humor; but they're idiots trying to do menial tasks and I find THAT funny.  Not everyone's humor is the same.
 

Duck Dynasty. Why? Why is it so popular? It's just a bunch of idiotic people, doing idiotic things. It's not even real! They aren't even really rednecks. Their pre-show lives were like... they lived in Miami or something. 
 
I'm inclined to also note, I have no issues with the people that like it, I just find it baffling.

I never liked Netflix and Gamefly.  I understand that times will change but there has to be a better option.  There's Onlive of which you can rent streaming video games but there's none of the new stuff.  SO why can't Gamefly try to cash in on this?  I might like Netflix a little better ^{(but only a little)} if they had a similar thing to amazon's Kindle devices "mayday" button where you press a button and a Netflix Employee (like a Blockbuster employee) can provide movie, tv, or cartoon suggestions via webcam or voice chat.  I don't know how it's gonna work but I miss my old job at Blockbuster.  

 

Snooki, J-Wow, Kim Kardasian (I'm not gonna bother spelling that name right), Selena Gomez, Justin Beiber are my top celebrities that I don't give a flying fuck about.  HOWEVER if they were actual good people who did good things like donate to cancer research or try to fight world hunger; I could respect them but not follow them to the ends of the Earth like some crazy people.  The way the are now; I would rather lick a dead skunks bleeding ass hole than know about Kim Kardasian's super stupid wedding.

 

I truly don't get why everyone goes to go see a boring movie because their favorite actor/actress is in it.  It's mind baffling.  I can see it as a reason to go see it but not the sole purpose to go see their movie.

me: You mean "The Big Wedding"? that movie looks awful.

guy: but Robert De Niro is in it! He's good in anything he's in!

me: what if he was in a movie where he was a child rapist, got away with it and married a child bride? would you watch that?

Blu ray and HD.  I never wanted to see every pore of an actors face to enjoy a movie.  It's never my number one priority.  The picture quality of the tv is the same whether or not I sit up close to it to see itty bitty tiny details that was never there before in standard definition pictures.  I grew up with 420p or 360p quality pictures and I never had any demand to see things clearer.  HOWEVER it did blew my mind to see Casablanca in blu-ray.

 

Certain anime and otaku tropes.   I TOTALLY get why people say the original Japanese is better, I get it, I truly truly get it.  I just don't want to read subtitles, I hate reading subtitles for thirty minutes or a movies worth of subtitles.  I don't like the animes that have long hard to pronounce Japanese character names.  TRIGUN however is great in my opinion, very simple, easy to remember American sounding names.  I was rooting for Spike the whole way though!  My mom even liked it!  She's totally anti guns and weapons.  Millie Thompson is just so super cute and I just love big amazon girls :3. Lupin the 3rd is my number one favorite anime, following Fooly Cooly as a close second (because of the long Japanese names).

 

(side note I would love to see a Lupin the 3rd live action american movie, even if it sucks eggs)

 

Shakey cam in action movies piss me off to no end.  Is the camera guy having a seizure?  Plus, I don't think ANYONE supports shakey cam.  It's so nauseating and it makes my head hurt.  Unlike this clip from The Warriors (1979)↓

With the right editing, you can make any fight scene look good.

 

I overheard someone say "Oh thirty grand for a car won't break the bank, don't worry about it".  I got a used 2012 Nissan Leaf for less than 15 ($14,500) and that fractured my parents bank but they trust me because I take care of my stuff.

 

Those are my top gripes with the world today that everyone else seems to like.

I agree with you soooooo much here, we don't celebrate Christmas (I don't want to go into detail so please don't bug me about it) so I do kind of hate it, especially the freaking Christmas music, gosh I hate Christmas music so much, it's just so cheesy and awful!! It's so stupid, I mean really, if you want to send a picture to someone while making yourself look like an idiot there's a thing called picture texting, facebook messaging, how about instagram direct? I mean the whole purpose of those things were so that people can send you pictures privately!! and I realize snapchat has a time limit thingy but possible to take screenshots, or have someone else take a picture of the screen and send it to you.

 

Also, I'd like to add that I'm not trying to bash these things so please don't think I am.......

-Modern Sonic games. What am I, mariotehplumber? No. I just don't find the appeal of his games anymore and Lost World wasn't that great. 

-Vacations to across the nation. They end up being just as frustrating as enjoyable.

I used to just plain DESPISE Christmas. Because I used to have to always go see my mom's pain in the butt family on that day and get lame presents. And that mother of hers treats me like crap. Oh I hate her so much...

But now dislike is the better term. I think mainly because everybody else gets to be truly happy on that day but me...Sure I get nice gifts for it now and for the past few times I got a video game console for a present but...What I really desire is the one thing that money can't buy...............And that's love.....

I don't care what characters are used, from what show, from what video game, from what planet, etc. I don't really understand what is so significant about pairing two characters together. Especially since most of the popular ships in this fandom don't really make much sense to me. AppleDash would end in bitter rivalry and most of the others.. don't have much in common (Rarijack, TwilightPie, etc.) or just based off seeing the two together (Lyra and Bon Bon)

 

Piracy

 

Most of the time I've seen pirated games/movies they either.

 

A). Got the computer filled to the brim with adware/spyware/malware/whateverware

B ). Put in poor quality

C). Both

 

Plus, it hurts the economy. Without the company getting profits, they'll probably drop all ideas of making more games/movies, then they close down.

 

Oh, and you guys want to hear a funny story?

 

One time, I bought a Yoshi's Island GBA cart off of eBay and it came to my house. It was a pirated game (which I realized a few months after getting it) and one time when I turned it on, my saved data became corrupted.. and that was after I beat the game. Trust me, I sure was disappointed.

 

My Little Pony Toys (in general)

 

I don't even care what gen they are from, most of the normal MLP toys (which doesn't include the Mini-sets or McDonalds toys, I like those) are crap. The G1-G3.5 range turns me off for some reason and the G4 ones are cheaply put together.

Honestly, I can see your point about the "annoying" bit, but it's HOW she's annoying that I like.  I also feel the same way about not understanding how people could like Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, or SpongeBob SquarePants.

 

To answer your question, though, I like her for her sheer randomness and some of her lines are the funniest ones in many of the episodes.

Sure music is okay but I don't see the attraction to listening to music as a hobby or learning all of the names for the members of a band. I have got nothing against people who like music I just feel the medium is over popular, when I ell people  I don't really listen to music I fell alienated but I don't think id feel that way if I said the same about books or television. Hmm I suppose that is it really apart from sport for similar reasons.

Oh I also dislike it when people like stuff because its *awesome* a lot of my friends like cartoons because the character does something epic or really stunning. Generally I fell anyway could add awesome stuff to their shows but I am much ,more interested in books/art/tv or games being meaningful and memorable.

GTA / Call of duty: As fun as being called racial slurs by 12 year olds is, the games just aren't what they used to be, and it is just boring doing the same thing.

Pokemon - I am a fan of the original 151, and generation 2 and 3 were good. I stopped playing the others because as soon as I'd finish one pokedex, it's like. "Oh cool, have some more inbred barn animals" which was very tiring...
