I totally didn't see it coming when she went alicorn in season four:

Considering she's a cat, that was actually pretty good acting.

 

And I swear there are, like, ten times as many pics of grumpy Opal as there are of her actually smiling:

A rare but cute sight.  Also fairly rare: Rainbow Dash and Rarity on-screen together in a non-group shot.  Combined with happy Opal, it's as though you've just spotted a periodic comet in the sky.

It annoys me that cats are always depicted as the butt of unkind jokes in fiction; Opal is sometimes subjected to this (chased up trees, doused with water, having her annoyance at being manhandled ignored.)

 

She is a sweet kitty and she should be handled with love and respect. <3
