  1. More Postmodern Jukebox. This may be my favorite channel on Youtube.
  2. JonTron weighs in: It seems the game lost a shit load of subscribers after Cataclysm. Having never played WoW, I'm really curious as to why that was.
  3. I just got a tourism ad for Detroit. The voice over actually described it as a "comeback story." xD

  4. I never thought I'd say this, but I'm legitimately happy that the Mass Effect movie never panned out. It looked horrible.

Ty and you're right. It's probably not going to go well as being able to make your own choices and live with the consequences was what pulled folks into the series. An adaotation of the first game is going to infuriate folks as the film 'canonizes' a path per say. I would've preferred an original story myself.

  5. On Your Marks: One of the better songs in recent years, but too much third grade bum. Chris Hansen would not approve.

Third grade, like elementary school. >_> Chris Hansen would be pissed.

Hmm, ah thank you for the clarification, Mandalore Dash.

Also, I did enjoyed that song despite me not being into the episode as I should. I hope to rectify that tonight.

  6. "Get SET... for a combat drop." - Buck, Halo 3: ODST. Now with a starring role in Halo 5 apparently, but fuck if I know anyone who's played it.
  7. Before my brothers and I entered the theater, we were having a debate about what the all-time worst superhero movie was. After we left, we all knew the answer.
  8. It's in 90 years? Plenty of time to prepare.
  9. Statistics without Significance: a fallacy I just made up wherein a debater cites an impressive-sounding number or statistic, without providing any indication of said number's importance.

  10. Even after playing Mass Effect for the past seven years, I still find something new every time I play it. I love the sequels too, but something about the original is impossible to top.

  11. I would be a hypocrite if I supported it. I, like many people, got pissed off at the new Ghostbusters reboot because the genderflip bullshit flew in the face of the established characters. This great Ghostbusters movie from the 1980s was being rewritten by politically correct hacks who wanted to appeal to an "underrepresented" audience. So why, then, should it be okay to turn a traditionally all-female cast into an all-male cast just to appeal more to the men who felt "underrepresented" in the My Little Pony universe? I really like FiM, and I love the cast. Just like how I loved the cast of the original Ghostbusters. If you have something great going on, I couldn't care less who it "represents." Just give me great characters, gender be damned. And as of 2016, those great pony characters are all female.
  12. Wait, so you're defending a movie where Batman guns people down with reckless abandon, including making a guy explode with a hostage right next to him; a movie whose villain was a campier and stupider bastardization than anything Joel Schumacher could have dreamed up; a movie that made Wonder Woman Jewish for fuck-all reason; a movie with absolutely no redeeming value to cinema whatsoever... And the people who call it a piece of shit and prefer the Marvel movies are brainwashed?
  13. It was funny, and Maud was great as ever, but the sentiment was kinda lost on me. Once you realize that it's just a one-sided take on "Gift of the Magi," you can kinda predict every beat. Oh, and I'm all for Mad Men cameos, but I think the animators should draw some new characters. Still seeing tons of Joan Harris, and not a single Pete Campbell.
  14. What's Mr. T's favorite Ninja Turtle?

  15. Sorry fanboys, I know everyone loves this game, but I had no choice.
  16. I think my humor can best be described as 33% Monty Python, 33% South Park, 25% Archer, and 28% internet.

Why? We're spinning on a giant ball flying through the depths of space at a million miles an hour, and you're asking why? That question ceased to be relevant the day man walked on the moon. No, sir, there is no longer a why in this world.

  17. The Crystaling. At least every other two-parter had a grand conflict of some kind. The Crystaling has a complete lack of conflict until part two, at which point, they literally fight bad weather. oooooooooooooooh. scary. And it further cements the niggling suspicion I had that Starlight's character had been butchered. She came into the Mane cast with one character trait, and one unresolved conflict, and ended up getting over it in under 40 minutes. Now, we can only observe her screaming freefall from a really cool villain to Sunset Shimmer 2.0.
  18. @@Tsaritsa Luna's post makes an excellent point about single player in Call of Duty. The campaign isn't the afterthought that everyone says it is. It's actually very important to the game's userbase. For the record, I quite liked Black Ops 3's campaign and story. When I played it, I hadn't played a new CoD in three years, and it felt fresh again. It was an utter mindfuck, but it's possible to make sense of the ending if you check the tvtropes page. It's actually pretty clever in many regards, and I'm glad that Treyarch is usually on top of that. Obviously, you can still call it a short game all you want, and a 5-8 hour campaign is in no way worth a $60 purchase, but just powering through it one day at a cousin's house was pretty fun. That aside, it sucks that all three CoD developers are trying to push their setting date as far into the future as they can. It was novel when BOII was set in the 2020s, then Advanced Warfare pushed all the way into the 2050s, Treyarch came back and claimed the 2060s, and now it looks like Infinity Ward is going for the 2180s. I just want another historical CoD. Hell, even Ghosts' alternate history setting was a pretty good idea, even though I've heard that game was horrible. I recently played Wolfenstein: The New Order, and that game scratched an itch I didn't know I had. It was a breath of fresh air to see something original and well crafted again. Something that gave me a fair challenge, varied gameplay, an excellent story, and decent length for the money. We need more lengthy, story-based, single player shooters, because there aren't that many these days. Hell, the first two CoDs were very long games, so there's no reason why they can't be again. There's no reason every campaign needs to be 5 hours, and why most of their stories need to be Michael Bay gun porn. CoD can be awesome again. All the components are there. They just need to give it an honest try.
  19. I'm not sure what's crazier: The fact that bronies scream "mary sue" every time a new alicorn shows up, or the fact that they're always right.

  20. Earlier: You're right about derailing the thread, however. So consider this my final word on the subject. The most neutral way I can say it is that there is a boatload of conflicting information floating around about this subject. I have looked into both camps, and decided in favor of the one that wasn't written by former Disney Channel interns. All kidding aside, look into sources that go against your confirmation bias if you want to get a complete picture. And to tie this back to MLP: Have we? The animators are starting to get lazy with their art assets, so there could be only around 100+ characters in the show. If that isn't the case, then you might have something. Determining which one, though, is like picking a novelty tan-colored needle out of a 2D haystack.
