  1. I've had two cats for a month now and they're still not getting along, bringing another pet into an already pet-owning household will cause trouble. They may get along in a few months or they may not. She will either learn to adjust or eventually just avoid Roxy and not care. But for now try to keep them separated and slowly introduce them to another.

Getting the scent of the dog and putting it in the same room as the cat is a good way I've heard, and then eventually let them see another but with something like a fence blocking them from one another. It's a complicated process and will take months or even a year so be prepared for that. If all else fails, just assign a room to one and a room to the other.

Same-sex pets usually don't get along very well.

Also I had no idea that killing-for-space shelters were still around, I got my cats from a no-kill-unless-ill shelter : s

Oh and make sure you take that dog to the vet as well, you never know if it could be sick, since inner illnesses can't be seen.

  2. I have the same problem, um you could totally reward yourself once you complete it, such as taking a break and relaxing, exercising, or just browsing the forums. You could get someone who knows how to have fun to help you with the essay, it makes things more bearable from my own experiences.

This site helps, it allows for background music that can be edited:

I recommend the rain one personally.

  3. When posting in a thread it's best to talk about the subject at hand. There's a difference from going slightly off-topic (but still within the subject matter) for one or two posts than for an entire page or more is more than likely a problem and just messes everything up.

There's a difference between posting in a thread about your favorite episode and mentioning why the episode works so well than posting in the same thread and mentioning why a specific season is your favorite, it's off topic, doesn't belong and even has its own thread.

    So...basically everything Dark said, lol.

  4. Long Distance can definitely work just as long as you and the other person can make it work. Which includes not dating anyone on the side offline (unless you're in a polyamorous relationship and all parties involved are okay with it).

I've been in several which none have worked for me personally but there are a decent amount of people which it worked for.

Really I have no problem with it as long as you eventually meet up with your other (which may take several years so people dating online should always be prepared for that).

  5. Personally, I always believed that telling your child that they're intelligent is actually quite damaging to them. If they assume they are smart, then when they can't understand something/find the answer to something, they'll completely shutdown and be afraid of failure. And I personally agree with what you said, hard work should be rewarded just as much as success, it just seems more productive for the child in their later teachings.

Personally, I've always been told I'm smart and when I can't find the answer to something, or I get a low grade on something, I completely shut-down and feel like a failure. So, it's highly recommend to commend your child on doing a good job, even if they didn't succeed.

  6. I will have to agree, honestly. I don't know much about making music enough to critique a person's work but it should be an obvious fact that saying "omg song so good, 11/10" isn't going to help them improve.

Everything a person makes can be improved and it's better to be harsh about it than to keep that person happy and living in their own dreams when the song they made sounds like two trash can lids being bashed together. :/
