I live in Maryland and my University is within the Baltimore Beltway. I'm definitely going. <:
2. I told my friend that there is actually a BronyCon in our area.....she was in utter disbelief. lol

WHY CAN'T I HAVE A BRONYCON NEAR ME? ;_;

I was kinda surprised there was a Bronycon here in Maryland, too. Don't worry, you can always meet up bronies in anime conventions. lol

Remi

Egh, bronies in a non-brony convention. I won't feel at home.

3. I honestly can't stand people who think they're better than others. Back in high school, I remember this girl who is always boasting how she gets awesome grades, passed AP English with a 3, is in the student government, got into University of Maryland, blah blah blah. Of course, nothing wrong with being proud of your achievements...but some people just have to be less of a jerk about it. I also can't stand girls who makes fun of others just for the way they look. I've seen this quite often in high school and it just gets on my nerves so much. I had girls complain that I don't care about fashion and that I don't talk a lot. Well, sorry if I don't watch MTV or know the latest celebrity gossip, or listen the cruddy rap/hip-hop/pop music (there are good ones though...but there are just many I can't stand). I just have trouble socializing with the majority of the girls. I mainly hang out with guys. Well, I can be a hypocrite sometimes...but I get that from my mom because she's a hypocrite herself. Why can't I be more like my dad? >.> Well, at least I can tell if I'm being a hypocrite most of the time. That's an improvement. xD But, just because I can't stand someone, doesn't mean I hate them. Treat others the way you want to be treated. :3
4. A lot of people were inspired by Holst! Actually the most famous one that was inspired is John Williams! The guy who composed music for Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Jaws, Indian Jones, etc. Oh, and if anyone is a fan of Super Mario Galaxy, Mahito Yokota seemed to have looked to Holst for inspiration to the video game's soundtrack. :3 Holst is like the god of film music. The one who started such epic style. I was trying to look for a classical music thread here! D: I don't know why I couldn't find it. Well, I'm totally fine if the other thread is used, but we're getting new people here. 0= Those are lovely music that you put up, by the way. I love baroque music as well.
5. I've been listening to this all day: and that's because I've been playing it all day. Chopin etudes are really hard when doing the first time. DX
6. So yeah, anyone hear listens to classical music? I absolutely love classical music and I have my high school piano and band teacher to thank! I listen to classical piano the most simply because...I am supposed to. It's what you get for being a music major in general. xD So yeah, feel free to discuss and even share some of your favorites. ^^
7. Obscure music thread and I see no avant-garde classical music? For shame. You don't know obscure until you hear this: If you want more obscure, listen to moar 20th century classical avant-garde music. I love listening to those~
8. Well...at least I won't be a loser for playing Nintendo if that happens. Yup, looks like I'm not alone on that thought. Copyright law can be one's best friend or worst enemies. I honestly don't know why Motorola is making that lawsuit though...it's not affecting their business in anyway. Well, unless they just want something to brag about. Microsoft will find a way out of this. They're the ones with the most money anyways.
9. My favorite color is yellow. :3 Purple is my 2nd favorite. ^^
10. I almosted fainted because of malnourishment today. :D

11. If you are into chiptune/8-bit stuff, I suggest getting a tracker program. Those are generally free! Madtracker or my personal favorite because I am a huge retro gaming fan: Famitracker But I do highly agree with Shankveld, piratebay is your best bet. xD buuut, once you do get your program of choice (Reason, Sonar, Pro Tools, Logic [macs only], or Reaper], you can get vsts! I know an excellent website with free and amazing vsts! Here it is: myvst here is an AMAZING free piano vst: CVpiano Oh, btw, I heard Reaper is free, but you just get a nag screen if you don't purchase it. I personally never used Reaper, but maybe you should check on that. I personally love Fl Studio and Sonar! That's because you get to use vsts and there are loads of free vsts. :3 You CAN'T use vsts for Reason, unfortunately, but it does come standard with some really nice sounds...but if you want more nice sounds, you gotta buy "refills" which...can be pretty pricey. I'm starting to talk a lot. xD Feel free to ask me any question.
12. I call BS. This research is obviously very poorly done. Unfortunately because businesses are obsessed with gaining custormers, they pay scientists to make cruddy experiments. Research that are also covered by major News tend to also get the BS experiments. News try to get whatever sells, because it's a business too. If you want well-done research, it's best to read from academic articles. Yeah they're tedious, but it's the best way. Unfortunately, people do not like tedious research reports, so the News is really the only way some people can be up-to-date with researches. It's really up to you to decide whether a research is legit, even if it is done by some famous researcher.
13. Let us hope that this fandom is not like pop music: takes the world by storm, only to taper off rather quickly. I do feel that there will always be dedicated fans who will remain admiring this fandom for years to come. Even when new episodes stopped being made, there will always be the possibility of attaining new fans because of curious internet newcombers who sees all the work that the fandom has done. The music, the art, the stories, will remain in the internet forever and it is bound to capture someone's attention...even in the far future. Many memebers will of courses fade away because of life or new interests, but that happens with any fandom.
14. I actuall have arachniphobia. xD Oh, I'm also scared of the dark too...so yes I still sleep with a night light, even though I'm 19 years old (finished 2nd year community college). I'm going to transfer to a University though, so I'll be living in a dorm. D: I don't know how I'm going to survive now. :S
15. Sorry for constantly bugging, I really want to make sure everyone sees! Vote for my friends video. ^^: http://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=268665149890298&id=215687145110851&comment_id=1414358

17. Physics and Music theory IV final exam tomorrow...oh joy.

18. Despite my success in music, my parents never came to a single concert of mine. I am fine, but it still leaves a small hole in my heart.

Haha thanks guys :) Yes I would like a hug :3 and it's totally fine. That didn't stop me from becoming a music major. xD

19. I will surely take part in the moment of silence. There were many stories of sacrifice and those people really deserve respect and of course all the family and friends who lost loved ones in that event.
20. Vote for my friend's video! He's really close to getting that scholarship and he REALLY needs it. Here is link if you have facebook: http://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=268665149890298&id=215687145110851&comment_id=1414358

Click on "more recently stories" hidden in the timeline and like the video by "Carlos D. Fuentes". He needs money for college!!

22. A student of mine dropped piano lessons...less money for me now. Back to being a starving musician. :<

23. It's a sad reality. This is why a lotta people from my high school (a school where majority low-income goes too) didn't even bother continuing their education! I mean, I couldn't go to a music conservatory because it was waaay to expensive. Yeah...I'm not gonna fork over 22K per year so I can get a fancy music education. I'm taking up loans federal loans for my community college...but that's because I go out-of county...so I pay doubled the tuition. >.> It's even worse when tuition continues to rise. University seems to be exclusive to either straight A students who get lotsa scholarships or rich kids with 3.0 or above. Yeah...life is unfair, but what you can do? That's why I worked so hard in community college to get my full scholarship to a university.
24. I am jealous of those with perfect pitch. xD At least I'm close to it now after 2 years of taking ear training courses. xD You know, if I were those music majors, I'd be jealous too. We worked hard on auditions, took intense music courses, and practiced 4+ hours a day, so they find it unfair that a non-major who doesn't have as high of a standard get special treatment. I'm glad you get an excellent music education though! xD I got special treatment when I took lessons in high school, because I was the only one who actually liked to practice and push myself to play hard music. I sight-read music every single day too. I've been playing 5 1/2 years now and I'm already performing Chopin Etudes...it comes with 5+ hours of practice. -_-
