I've only read the Isaac Bell novels. I'd start with the first book, The Chase. Part western, part noir mystery, part retro-techno thriller. But it depends on what you're into. The Dirk Pitt adventures are a cross between James Bond and Indiana Jones. Lots of sea based capers and adventures. Start with The Mediterranean Caper. The NUMA Files are a spin off series of books in the same universe. Serpent is their first book. The Oregon files is more espionage, heist and spy thrillers also in the same universe. But they aren't introduced into the Dirk Pitt book Flood Tide and starts with it's own book, Golden Buddha. The Fargo adventures are pulp style treasure hunting adventures. That starts with Spartan Gold.

I've been fasting since 5pm yesterday in preparation for an all you can eat breakfast this Sunday. Even then all I had was a bowl of cereal, a PBB&J and three apple oat cookies before they got stale. Oh and 5x raspberry white chocolate Hershey's kisses my elderly coworker snuck over to me. So I'm watching videos about breakfast burritos because I'm a masochist and I had a really good one last weekend. Steak, egg, cheese, onion, pepper, feta and avocado. Rather have that than the 2/5 of these I can realistically get.

Remember that? Well it got a sequel. It's late 1907 and our wealthy detective and his army of agents now hunt down the culprit behind mass industrial sabotage. Acts of terrorism on the growing railways heading west, with the killer using Unionist ideals, Anarchist fervor and Industrialist retaliation to bury his death traps made with the cunning of an engineer. And eliminating even the most vigilant of witnesses with the grace of an assassin. It's also a good book. Go read it. Not too many detective stories that blend Noir mystery with Western grit.
