  1. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA and the worst flashback ever commences... Actually...lemme just clarify here... I read/saw cupcakes and was pretty scarred by it...but the worst part was the morning after I watched it...no joke...I woke up, and my wife walked in with a plate of blue iced cupcakes with rainbow coloured sprinkles on top...she was very confused as to why I flipped out.
  2. fan content...lots and lots of fan content... Everything from originals, to spin-offs, to ytps, to games...and of course, lurking/discussions here!
  3. well...just keep in mind...if you ever got a craving for chicken, and didn't wanna take one of fluttershy's, you could always roast up a nice plate of scootaloo
  4. don't mind me...I have a case of "dragon ball z eye" syndrome...now as you were saying?
  5. his older stuff > than his newer stuff...however, his best work is unreleased...I can't give details at risk of being sued...but there's a few tracks floating on the interwebz that are really hard to get...but if you do...it showcases his true talent!
  6. woah...when did spock become a member of equestria high?
  7. alright...let's do this... (remember...this is purely opinion...and is not meant to offend anyone...) 1.While I believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I hate it when people think Electronic Dance Music (IE Dubstep/Trance/House/etc) is just music made with computers and requires no skill...I was a musician way before a DJ/producer, playing "Real Instruments" and I can honestly say making EDM is waaaay harder...To play a song on piano/guitar etc takes sheet music, and knowing where chords are, and to create a song for piano (while still challenging) is still just one instrument...to make EDM, you have to create ALL the instruments, all the harmony, all the leads, all the vocal work, all the drums, EVERYTHING from scratch...and then you master it to sound professional quality. That stuff is hard to do, and while I respect peoples opinion, my guess is that they just haven't delved into the genre as much and sorted through the trash, or they haven't attempted to make good electronic music themselves... 2.DJing isn't art...a lot of people say that, and again I believe differently. As a DJ of 10+ years, I can honestly say DJing is just as much of an art as a classical musician...just in a different way...But let me first be clear in saying...yes...I know there are jukebox djs and ableton users who just wave their arms in front of a mixer and get paid...but I'm not talking about those people...The ones I'm referring to are those who take creativity to a whole new level...those who do turntablism, live synths, wicked live FX modulations, the people who take their show on the road and add new flavour to it, all while reading the crowd and selecting their records carefully...Dj's like Eddie Halliwell, James Zabiela, or DJ Venom...Even Skrillex is talented in that way, as he is a regular musician, (he sings, does guitar, drums, etc) and is a live DJ act as well... 3.While I dislike most rap...I don't hate it at all...I prefer more poetic rap that has meaning...not just senseless boasting...plus can we please get an originally made creative beat behind the vocals? Seriously...I can make most rap beats in 10 minutes with my producing software...at least get a melody of some sort in there...or some good ambience... 4.I think very little of the modern mainstream top 40 music...of course there is still talent every once in a while...but for the most part, it's just the same subject matter over and over again...cheesy love song, boasting song, my girlfriend/boyfriend cheated on me break up song...and the instrumentals are so overused...there's hardly any variation...plus all the stealing these days from other artists...ripping their instrumentals and using them in their own productions...I prefer originality over "popular sounding music"... 5.I didn't like the 60s-70's rock music...the recording quality was always bad mixed and sounded too warm, the songs sounded very generic at times, and the vocals wern't always the most pleasant to listen to...there were a few songs here and there that I thought were really good, but no...I'm not a beatles fan, and I don't think zeppelin was a genius...But I will say they did have talent...no doubt about that...I just feel their work could have been drastically improved...I'll take good classical over classic rock anyday! 6.Beats headphones are some of the worst headphones in existence...the company is mega greedy, sue crazy, and deceitful...the headphones are made of cheap breakable materials, the sound quality is so bad that they won't even post the frequency response on the packaging, they're ridiculously overpriced, most of the designs are highly inadequate for normal usability and everyday abuse, plus their fanbase is full of people that wear them for looks and fashion rather than a device for good quality music...There are a ton of better alternatives (such as the shure srh440 for producers, and the sony mdr-xb300's for bassheads) at way lower pricing that people could get...but they get overshadowed by this greedy company...so yeah, end rant on that.. 7.I hate ipods/iphones for music...the music quality is terrible on those...they don't support WAV or even 320kbps sound coding, so music is degraded every time it's put on an "i" device...I listen to my music on a psp, because it supports high quality playback, and has good durability/easy access replacement for parts...it's not as much music...but I think it still counts here... 8.I think we need to stop bringing up justin bieber...why?...because while I agree the dude is arrogant, obnoxious, and a poor musician, talking about him all the time on youtube comments/etc just makes him more prominent..if we forget about him and just leave it, he'll end up like rebecca black...she faded back into obscurity right? 9.I hate big music labels...If I was offered over 9 million dollars to sign my music with atlantic records, I'd laugh and walk away...most large labels are greedy creativity destroyers that destroy the artists creative vision, and seek only to make a profit from what they deem fitting of the artist...I feel we should move away from big labels, and join smaller ones, or start our own...sign people who deserve to be signed, and build an empire of incredible creativity and beauty... 10.I think Country (while I generally dislike it) takes a lot of talent to make, and I feel most of the artists are very well self-sustained, which is what I like to see in the music industry...but I enjoy it more if it's deep, dark, and ballad-ish...the twangy stuff kills my soul. So there ya go...some opinions n' stuff...
  8. "My Little Brownies...Now available in Chocolate Fudge!"
  9. hey man I'm with you on that...it is depressing...I love the things! I'm proud to be canadian, but jeez...a little bag of FHC's so hard to come by? *fixed And yeah, the coke thing sucks too...but I import that sometimes as well...so worth it! But then again, our normal coke tastes better than most others...
  10. I imported flaming hot cheetoes here to canada...we don't have them here, so literally most no one here has tried them! It's a health regulated thing or whatever...but they're so good!!!
  11. no problem at all man! What I've highlighted in bold there is the exact reason I wanna collab with you...because you see music as emotion...not many artists see that these days...I love people that do, because it shows they're gonna put their souls into the music...it's not just about popularity or how many likes on facebook you can get...it's about sharing a part of yourself with the audience...and I believe you've really done that here!
  12. welp...looks like I'm gonna be the focus of many fanfics...*sigh...oh internet...
  13. Like this a lot! Reminds me of my own classical work...I'd love to do a collab sometime! Maybe something ambient and melodic... On the other hoof...I'm sorry that you're going through a hard time...hopefully things get better for you... *Edit* THAT'S WHERE I RECOGNIZED IT... It reminds me of Evanescence - My Immortal No wonder I liked it! I love Amy Lee's work...(her old work at least)
  14. "zzzzzzzzzzzzz....world in danger again...call twilight....zzzzzzzzzzzzz....i'm busy...sleeping....zzzzzzz"
  15. Oh man, where to begin! I guess I have to start off with the classics first...I love the old 8 bit chiptune days...In fact, a remix of the tetris theme is what inspired me to become a DJ and create electronic music! I've never played a mario game that didn't have a good soundtrack...so those are definitely up there Kingdom hearts/Final Fantasy has beautiful scores in every game, and yoko shimomura and nuobuo uematsu do briliant work! The creators of the ambience/music for the Portal series did a fantastic job on their pieces, and a really random one...I'm a big fan of the music used in the "Amnesia - Small Horse" series... however, I'm a little biased on that one, because someone in particular has a brand new song in the next installment (details soon to come though!)
  16. Welcome to the forums man! Glad to have you join us! There's awesomeness that awaits behind these threads, so get ready for the ride!
  17. I was thinking about this recently... The elements of harmony seem to have been around for a very long time...what if it was never any of the ponies destines that allowed the elements to work...but just their characteristics...I mean...they can't be the only ponies that posses those character traits...could other ponies that have those traits use them? Plus since they've been around so long...that means that the elements were useless through every single big issue in ponyville, because there was no one to power them up to their true potential... And on a sadder note...if the ponies aren't immortal...that'd mean that when they pass, the elements would have lost their owners and become powerless again...what then? I dunno if this is accurate or whatever...but I figured it'd be open to interpretation..maybe I missed a detail or something I dunno...but I'd like to hear what you guys think!
  18. meanwhile...ang the avatar brushed away the jungle leaf dangling in front of his face and continued to walk further into the forrest of green
  19. I wouldn't even make it a ride personally...I'd build a whole park that goes through the world of equestria...has similar shops, places like sugarcube corner, a cloudsdale like place, applejacks farm, twilights tree house etc. it deserves its own section...
  20. Well, now we know what a sailor moon/mlp crossover would look like!
  21. "Don't mind me...just fallin' for you!" (Badum tss!)
  22. please don't take this as an insult...but you kinda look like Chris Hanson...just a little... But ah well...on the topic of people I look like, I also got Drew Carey the other day...I was like..."Old Drew Carey? or new Drew Carey?" and they were like "old..." and that's when I jumped off the bridge...
  23. Plus they both contain horse meat! (In all serious though...clever concept! that'd be a funny in-joke on the actual show!...it'd have to be a veggie taco though)
  24. do it. you have to...it's something every brony/pegasister must go through. It's gonna be a ride of course...a long and bumpy ride...but you'll need to experience it...I don't personally hate it...but I don't love it either...however I will say, it does hold some canon to the story, because it picks up directly after the S3 finale...so yes...you must watch it...but please...if you do...do what I did and tweet your reactions while watching it for the first time...I guarantee you'll have some interesting things to say!
