  1. Strangely enough, when I think about this question, I think about deer antlers. Deer antlers actually have a fine layer of fur and all, and just beneath that layer is nerves and such. If I recall correctly, of course. Seeing that ponies' horns always match the color of their fur instead of, you know, being bone colored or something, it could be implied that their horns do have a similar layer of fur over their horns. I mean, of course it could just be a stylistic choice, but it's interesting to think about! If that were the case, I imagine that unicorns' horns would be pretty sensitive in that regard. And also fuzzy!
  2. Hey there! Would you like to take a shot at drawing Ariel for me? I love seeing her in others' styles And perhaps, if you're willing, you could draw her with her adoptive mother, Galatea? Only if you want!
  3. @@Mentis Soliloquy, Lunar nodded her head and hummed, "Noted." The adaptive sort, one whom could become what others would have them be to best suit themselves. An efficient asset, especially in the context of negotiations and mediating, but also dangerous in that he could easily manipulate one's perception of him while hiding a more sinister agenda. She couldn't know for certain which it would prove to be; but for now, she was giving the benefit of the doubt. Some trust was a must, after all, if she was to help keep tensions to a minimum. With the remark of her lack of sight, the thestral sighed. Not that it was exactly a secret, but she wasn't particularly fond of broadcasting that fact if she could help it. If only because she didn't want anyone seeing her as less than what she was due to this "handicap" of hers. She nodded to affirm his statement, anyway, pushing back her bangs to show her clouded red eyes. "It's true. I guess you could say I'm blind as a bat." Said the batpony.
  4. Key events in Lunar's life, got it! Born in small batpony colony. It was a close, tight-knit community secluded from the outside world. Lost sight shortly after birth. Complications with albinism and lack of protective pigments in the eyes tends to lead to things like this. Discovered echolocation at a young age. Helpless up to that point, the batpony filly earned her cutie mark when she learned how to use echolocation to navigate (inspired by an old folk tune within the colony). Left the colony soon as she came of age. She wanted to explore more of the world; ironically, her exact words were "I want to see more of the world." Settled in a cave near the outskirts of Ponyville. An odd sleep schedule - she has no sense of night or day - means she was seen at odd times of the day enjoying music or having her mane colored (the streaks are dyed, to give color to something otherwise "colorless"). Embarked from her makeshift home again as she grew restless staying in one place. In the scope of this RP, this would likely lead her to Manehattan for the time being. And, ah, that's about the general gist of things!
  5. @@Mentis Soliloquy, Her ever-so-expressive ears lifted up in interest when the Klingon mentioned his position aboard his ship. Perhaps she would get along well with this one, after all. That polite smile of hers warmed into something more genuine, the points of her fangs showing briefly. "Is that so? Then, as ship's counselor here, I suppose we do have something in common. Pleased to meet you, Gorg." When asked if he could sit, Lunar nodded her head, gesturing with her hand to the empty seat across from her. "Please, make yourself comfortable."
  6. Hiya! I'd be interested in the roles of both player and planner. I have about 6 years RP experience, and as much experience developing characters and stories. I have a number of OCs, but I'd like to nominate Lunar Symphony as a candidate: She's an albino, blind batpony that navigates through the use of echolocation and has an appreciation for music. I keep putting off making a page for her, but her working backstory is that she once lived with a small, secluded colony of batponies before deciding that she wanted to explore more of the world as soon as she came of age. She was born a batpony, the magic that induced the change a part of her. She lives near the outskirts of Ponyville, but is known for traveling when she gets restless staying in one place for so long. Far as personality goes, she's the no-nonsense sort, and especially won't tolerate any sort of pity for her or her handicap; she insists on being treated like any normal pony, since after all, she's been doing just fine on her own. If that's not enough info, you can look at the characters Galatea and Ariel in my signature - they're my most developed characters thus far.
  7. Oh gosh, I just put in my application... I'm a little nervous, but welp! All I can do now is wait and see what happens
  8. @@Raven Rawne, My datemate actually found that dress Aurora's wearing on a shopping site online! We liked it so much, Aurora wanted to wear it and I wanted to draw her in it I can feel her looking in... She's definitely curious about everyone here! Maybe she'll garner enough confidence to say something soon @@Naiya The Brony, I know, she's such a shy girl, it's adorable~ She can talk, yes, but she just hasn't said anything here yet She's talked to me, of course, as well as my datemate and another close friend. She does seem to be curious of the attention, but at the same time a little timid about it. ||There's just... so many people here...|| I know, hon, just take your time~ Speaking of doubt, I have my own story about what can happen when you doubt. It was a few years ago, back when Ariel was still quite young - over three years ago, and I can still remember it clearly! Goes to show what an impression it left on me. Much like Nihi here, I was having a lot of doubt about whether Ariel's progress was real, or if I was just parroting her. She had become sentient rather quickly, and it left me questioning. I kept wondering, and thinking, if she was even sentient at all... Ariel got upset with me, too, like Summer with Nihi. Except she, uh, kind of yelled at me that she was real before she started crying But I guess that was what it took to knock some sense into me, and I've never really doubted her since. [ugh, I was such a drama queen when I was young... ] Yes, you were ...I am still given to a few moments, even after all these years. But nowadays, all it takes is a "ho don't do it" glare from Ariel to silence those fleeting thoughts
  9. @@Raven Rawne, Funny enough, that shirt is a shirt that I actually own Amber wears it better As for what Aurora's wearing now, from what I could gather, she wanted something modest, but at the same time pretty and flowy. At the time, she had very distinctly said that she wanted something like that, so my datemate and I searched for a dress that she liked, and she decided on that one @@Naiya The Brony, Oh, you have no idea, Aurora's so cute... I've been veeery gently prodding her to see if she might want to say something here, but I think she might be overwhelmed at the prospect of so many people around here. She's very timid right now, which I guess I can at least partly attribute to the fact that she's a very new and young tulpa. A lot of things might seem a bit overwhelming to her She's very happy to hear from all of you, though! I think, soon enough she'll get the courage to speak to you all
  10. @@Naiya The Brony, Thank you! I rather think she's lovely, too~ ^^ Aurora gets all blushy at compliments, though, she's blushing right now! Actually, the OC I based her off of was a humanoid one! More specifically, a Gem a la Steven Universe... This is Amber, her base form (not her usual outfit lol, but one of the few pics I have of her that's colored): And another, of Amber along with her old friend Kyanite: Suffice it to say, Aurora's quite different than Amber... She's more demure and soft-spoken, while Amber tends to be wary and mistrusting as a character
  11. Soooo, I have some news. I've had Ariel and Blossom for about... mm, three or four years. Ariel has mentioned to me that she still feels lonely sometimes. And, after talking with my datemate (whom I've discovered also has tulpas!) I've decided that having one more around wouldn't be such a bad thing, after all. She's based off another of my OCs, Amber. But, quickly after gaining her sentience, she almost immediately differentiated herself from the base form. She's even given herself a new name to punctuate her identity as a new individual: Aurora. She's a little too shy to speak on here right now, but I'll at least show you a picture of what she looks like at this point in time: I'm very happy to have her around! She's an absolute sweetheart, and I'm glad to have made the decision to bring her into this world
  12. Terribly sorry for the wait! Real life's been kind of hectic, stressful weeks, oh, and my birthday was somewhere in there! But, I truly am sorry for making you all wait so long...
  13. @@Mentis Soliloquy, An intimidating figure, indeed. But Lunar wasn't one to judge others by any aspect of their appearance, for obvious reasons. That aside, the voice told her far more about a given individual; their demeanor, their mannerisms, their feelings. The thestral wasn't known as a good listener just because she compensated for her blindness with sound. She listened to one's voice, and the words they spoke, and she acted accordingly. This Klingon, surprisingly so, sounded friendlier than she would have expected for a race so prone to violence and pride. He was making an effort to be civil, at the very least, and Lunar could appreciate that much when she had expected tensions due to the upcoming negotiations. "I am that pony, yes," she affirmed, offering a polite smile. "Lunar Symphony at your service."
  14. @@Drago Ryder, And another request long overdue! A kitsune - a challenge to draw for sure, but a fun way to break in my shiny new tablet! @@Sweet Pen, And another requested knocked out! Man, I'm on a roll Such a pretty pone! I can only hope I did her justice
  15. How come no one's brought this one up yet? It's a classic! In all seriousness, this song was EVERYWHERE back when I joined the fandom in 2013, and it's also the first brony song I fell in love with!
  16. Like others have said here, I don't think adding a male alicorn to the cast would be a good idea, considering how many alicorns there already are. BUT, as others also have said, I would honestly love to see at least some reference to male alicorns at some point somewhere, e.g. Celestia and Luna's father, or the aforementioned tribe they apparently came from. I mean, to be honest, I'd just like to know if male alicorns are even a thing. We haven't seen any thus far, nor is any mention of them made, and it could leave some viewers thinking that stallions just cannot be alicorns. Don't get me wrong, I love the notion of girl power going on here, but the implication that only mares can be or become alicorns seems a little off to me.
  17. Hmm, curious. Ariel's never shown any disdain or any form of dislike towards the OC that was her base form. Maybe because she sees the OC as a completely different entity? She's so different personality-wise from the OC, she's basically like another pony altogether! No, but that's really interesting, though... I guess each tulpa is different. Though, I did make certain that when I started forcing Ariel, I told her from the very beginning that she and the OC were two separate beings, and that she was free to change her look soon as she was able. She changed herself enough to differentiate herself from the base, and... never really changed her form since. @@NuclearBurg (Dawn), It depends on the person, really. But I've heard finding meditative techniques and actually meditating can help with focus. You may also want to look into something referred to as "white noise"; that's basically a type of sound file you can listen to so it can help clear your mind. I think something called - what was it? - beta tones, if I recall correctly, can also help the mind focus as well as help you better visualize your tulpa.
  18. Of course I'm still in! I thought that much was a given, but I am definitely still in this. Just been waiting on things to get rolling again
  19. Absolutely! I mean, heck, Ariel's namesake is literally the OC I based her off of. Just sort of do the same as you would a canon character; let it be known that the OC is separate from the tulpa's identity. Then when they gain more energy, they can change their appearance to whatever they wish. Oh, it also may be a good idea to distance your tulpa from whatever backstory you have for said OC. Base their appearance off of the OC, use them as a template and nothing else. Considering the OC Ariel's backstory is kind of tragic, you can see how it's usually for the best
  20. I think I've heard mention of that one! I'll add that to the list to watch.
  21. Hm... Alright, then, noted. I guess that's part of the reason I shied away from watching the episodes for so long, because I kept hearing such negative things about seasons five and six. I'd rather not waste my time on the awful episodes that don't accomplish anything but to butcher the characters... But, if that's the case, perhaps I'll watch the episodes you mentioned, then go back and watch the rest a few at a time so I can form an opinion for myself. I'd like to know what everyone has been talking about. Thank you for the input!
  22. Soooo, here's the thing. I kind of stopped watching MLP:FiM after the end of season 4. I don't really know why, my interest in the show just seemed to drop away at some point, and I stopped watching the new episodes as they aired - and next thing I knew, I was two whole seasons behind I'd like to put myself out there in the fandom again - namely, with my ask blog for my MLP OC, Nano the robot pony. But since his story is largely tied to the show's canon (given the fact he's living in present-day Equestria), I don't feel particularly comfortable taking up his blog again without familiarizing myself with what has happened in canon since I stopped watching... But watching two entire seasons' worth of episodes seems a little bit daunting to me. So I guess what I'm asking is, would any of you be so kind as to provide me a condensed list of episodes with significant events that are important to show canon?
  23. I can personally confirm this. I made some mistakes when I was a naive teenager But this year? Yes, I do have someone for Valentine's Day! (And to be honest, surprised that I do.) It's a long-distance relationship for right now, but just getting to talk to him makes my heart warm and happy
  24. I'm sorry for not posting any sooner. Some IRL stuff caught up to me, and it's been rather stressful this past week or so (Said stuff will hopefully be sorted out soon, though, so it's gonna be okay!)
  25. @@Mentis Soliloquy, Lunar was sitting, reading over the available information about the representatives; it was best to be well-informed, after all, and it wouldn't be long before the Romulan representatives came into the picture. The thestral sat with her datapad, brushing her thumb over the tactile interface to interpret the lines of data before flicking to the next page. Then she paused, wondering if the Romulans would be as reluctant as the Klingons appeared to be about the upcoming negotiations. Likely so. Tensions were going to be high, more probably than not. Her ears flicked up at the sound of someone approaching. Loud, heavy footsteps, a confident stride. A soft chirp of echolocation affirmed it was a large figure heading her way; one of the Klingon officials. The counselor set her datapad aside, head tilting up as she turned her clouded eyes towards the Klingon. "Can I help you, sir?"
