  1. Never used that one before, so I didn't really know you could change soundfonts in it. Most of the time I'm using guitar pro 5 for writing, and as I don't have RSE for it, my only option is the basic midi device's soundbank. (or when I use FLStudio, I have too many options to chose from...) I'll be looking foward to the remake
  2. Sounds nice, but you have to practice more, as you tend to fall off of the beat, and also try to stay in the right scale when adding something new to a song, so you don't play dissonant sounds. Those really hurt the overall performance... Keep up the good work! one more quick advice: Sometimes less is more and one more: when you want to ad vibrato, you don't shake the guitar... (video releated)
  3. This was really lovely, but here are some advice: - be more confident and let your voice out: You have a nice voice, so let it out for everyone to hear - if you sing a song, learn the lyrics first please: It would sound much better at some parts if you weren't late, or if you wouldn't mumble the parts you're not sure about. - listen to what you record: If what you recorded has some flaws, some parts you think could have done better, then record it again. - some minor things, that are important: While singing stand up, or at least sit with a straight back, because that way more air will get in your lungs, also please articulate. This is really important for your voice to come out the right way. Try out your voice in different kind of songs, so you will know your capabilities, like how high you can go on a musical scale, or how high you should start to be able to sing the whole song you chose. You have a nice voice, as far I can tell from this video, so you should practice to be able to use it to the fullest. Maybe you should consider finding a teacher, if you don't already have one. Talent is an important thing for every musician, be it singer, player, or composer, but it isn't worth much, without the proper knoledge behind it. You have the talent, so it's time to study.
  4. First of all: If you make music, you put your soul in it to make it good. The listeners listen, but they don't dictate. What I'm trying to write is, you are the one deciding on the genre, and not the ones who listen to it. It's not about what kind of song you make, it's about how you make it. There is no such thing as a good or bad genre. (but it is true that everyone has different tastes, so get used to the fact that not everyone will like the music you make ) Now, about this piece: It's definitely not "crap", and I'm not disappointed by it either. To be honest, I've heard many worse than this. Yes, the drums are a repetitive, and I think the main volume is a bit low, but I think I can say, I liked it. The basic tune was a nice, chilly one, the audioclips were okayish, and the second part (from 1:30) was interesting, even after the little extra you gave it from 2:05, which made it a bit dissonant in some places. The ending was nice. The missing parts were: - variation in beats - bass (except the down-sliding bass you used for decoration) - serenity This was going for more like a "20% Cooler" kind of title, or something similar. Serenity is about calmness of the mind, but this track didn't sound like that at all to me. If I have to give points, I would consider giving it a 4/10 (maybe a 5), but you should work on it a bit more. (and now I'm off to the corner to hide my feelings of being a hypocrite, as I've never tried to make music in this genre...)
  5. I don't know if this can really be called a decent remix. As much as I hear things through the overpowering bass and the bad mastering, you just speeded up the song, added some extra drum beats which are kind of unimaginative, and you even managed to make the drums miss the beat at some point, in a song this short. I don't want to be cruel or anything, but to be honest with you, this needs a complete makeover. I think I get the idea of what you wanted to do, but this song as it is right now, is too heavily wounded to last for a second listening. Sorry, and please, do try to remake this mix, as it could be a good one.
  6. Sometimes I prefer myself some more bass, than what is given in some songs, but I think this was a clear overkill. Sorry ^^"
  7. I know how hard it is to use the vocaloid programs, so I give you a brohoof for this. Guitar melody was nice and simple, but Anne still needs some fine tuning
  8. This was an interesting piece of music What program did you use? I'm only asking because it sounds really bad. I mean, the music you composed would sound really good, if it weren't for the actual audio quality. You mentioned, that you used some free programs, so I will blame those for it... If I count the audio quality, this would be around 1 or 2 out of 5, but if i look at the composition alone, it's at least a 4
  9. This sounded really nice! Keep up the good work!
  10. Listened to it It was bit raw for me, but still a good job /)
  11. Great job! Some may not realise how hard it is to compose pieces, like Night (or any other piece in the Ponyville Cycle for that fact), but I certainly do, so I tip my hat off to you! Keep up the good work!
  12. I think this is a good one It was interesting, how you went for a different setting, while keeping the same structure. Also, you should get a better microphone...
  13. I wish composing would be more easy...

... as was your profile page XD haven't seen so many spoilers in a while ;)

  14. This is my favorite from you so far! The tune is stuck in my head
  15. I listened through your remix, but I have to say it came out a bit boring/simpleish... The basic beat was ok at first (there was nothing that could go wrong with that one) but after a time it got pretty boring, because of the lack of any variation in it. You used too little variety in everything. At around 1:30 I was going to skip and see if the song continues the way it has been from the beginning, but then came a refreshing stop with the piano at Raritys part. From there it started to sound good with the long awaited change in the beat at AJs part, but after that you just smashed everything you used previously together, and let the building tension fade away without giving it the well deserved chance to break out. Also the piano that sounded good by itself didn't really fit in with the ending, but that just takes some mastering. So, there were some good parts I really liked, but the song altogether lacked something that would have made it shine.
  16. interesting choice of instruments I like it!
