  1. I have a mediocre pre-alpha for download now. The few enemies still can't hurt the player character, and it is just the main core of the first mission.It uses arrows for movement, and space for jump. It's supposed to be here: http://www.mediafire.../?18giju82xi5j3 By the way, Mediafire's download sometimes doesn't work, for some unknown reason. If it doesn't, then just try again. EDIT: 12 - 15/3 Demo improved, the enemies now cause damage, but they still stand still .... and the unwanted backslide is still not fixed.
  2. Ahem, that "other definition" had not existed, if firearms hadn't existed, since it comes from the idea of a bullet having a fast speed, and therefore, must have been shot out from a firearm of some kind.

  4. Hm, could be an idea, but i guess i'll have to see what i wind up with ..... I have been fairly inactive considering the project again, having my usual problems with motivation and such, being stuck on feeling it to be more problematic than i really know it is ... At least, today, i decided to make other ponies that might get included, and has thus started on two Cameo Characters (kind of). This increases the possibility that i will at least include those two, and perhaps even a "Cameo-Area" aligned to at least one of them.   5. It is obviously a desire of Hasbro to "safeplay" as much as they can, to "optimize their income". So, Cadence is an attempt to use the flaw called "Pinkestia", but in another form, that may be far less of a flaw. In the hands of the FiM crew, she'll probably prove to be at least an ok, and perhaps even a really good character in her own right. So i say: Allow Hasbro this indulgence.

  7. Hm, yeah, that bounding box is annoying .... Without having played yet, i also guess that the gun is a part of the Twilight sprite. This makes the use of a bounding box an even worse choise ..... I tend to prefer "precise collision checking". Ok, it may result in the odd situation of twi "standing on air", supported by either her tail or chin .... But that might be preferable? I found a way around that though, but i'm not sure how that way should look like for bigger sprites ... I suggest you test it, at least. Also, on Game Maker Community (there are links from Yoyo-games to it), i recently made a topic about it (my name there is "Catelf" ) in the Novice and intermediary part of their forum. GMC requires a seperate registration from yoyo-games, it seems like, though ... I downloaded your game-in-progress, and will probably try it out ... if i remember to

  9. As for ponies handling weapons, it is obvious that their hooves do have some kind of "grabability", lest at least 1/4 of all they do, would not be possible. Just face it. The recoil from firearms though, may make them impractical to fire, unless they are ground-supported, or at least fastened to a body harness.
  10. It would both work and look well with dual bolters, one each side, but with only one bolter?Not to mention the bolt pistols .... Hm, at this rate, i may have to make a demo of what little i have, currently, and start the non-game part of the project ....

To begin with, there is only close combat weapons: The Ultrapony have a chainhorn, the Royal Hooves one has a Power Hoof, and the Blood Mare is agile enough to attack enemies by jumping on them, despite being technically unarmed. As for later adding firearms, though ... i seem to have a slight problem. I'm not sure where to put them. On the head? On a shoulderpad? On a hoof or foreleg? On the back? Or make a specific additional sprite were they are holding them? The first firearms are to be Bolt pistol and Bolter(s). As for any else .... i'm not sure.
  12. A "why it happened" gives no clue as to "what will happen now?" Also, that 10 or 20 "concerned that it is an insult" get a heavier impact than 200 "we are the ones portrayed, but we love this" feels .... so utterly wrong. Somehow, i'm just reminded by something ... BaldDumboRat(did i get her name right?) on youtube quoted from a humoristic situaton ... or it became fun because of the comment "Ahm specauul !" ... Yes, i do like to refer to BaldDumboRat on youtube, because her comments on the situation has been ... so good.
  13. .... Features?I'm not sure what you mean, but primarily, it is to be a basic 2D platformer with missions. If i manage, i intend to add these things to it: * Choosing between different ponies as your Main Character. * Some Order system, perhaps including possibility to directly control "squad ponies" during play. * Cameos (have several ideas, but dare mentioning none, yet) * Unlockable playable Characters (non-FiM) * Unlockable Mane6 - works as summons. I have no idea which of these ones that i will manage ... if any at all...
  14. Adding ponies to choose to play between is fully possible, i managed something a bit more complex more than a year ago, when i started on a platformer based on the world in Gaia Online .... However, it got too complicated and problematic in the amount of different abilities i intended to make, in combination with the amount of extra sprites i needed to do. In this case, there is not that much extra work to do. However, it seems i have to change my mind, and instead try to get the combat part done, for the current player character, so i perhaps can get a simple playable Demo up and running. The idea is otherwise to let the player character give Orders and/or control other nearby Space Ponies, making them perform their own specialities....
  15. Nope, i don't have pro ....But, i did manage to add good enough details manually. I'm finally getting closer to a playable demo, too. Next thing, is to make it possible to choose between 3 different ponies, for making them playable ...

I'm using the gamehelp program called Game Maker 8.0 Currently, my bigger problems are the making of proper sprites, i just now was hit by one of the more prominent features of the sketch that originally was ... perhaps the greatest inspiration .... perhaps would become unusable, because i have to tilt the pony-head 45*, and .... well, the result was that vital details disappeared ... But, thanks to you, i'll try add the details manually, instead,
  17. I prefer to keep the amount of sprites to a minimum, so even though "jump bucking" may be added later, it is currently not prioritated. I have now hit several walls in a short amount of time, so i have lost my momentum ... Now, i have something tedious to make, and combined with loss of momentum, it easily causes a kind of boredom, that may want one to stop any project, despite that one still want to continue on it, and complete it. .....
  18. Hm, i have something that may or may not be a problem: The most agile of the starter ponies seems practically unarmed ..... However, that pony may be able to jump high enough to jump on several enemies, so perhaps it is ok for that pony to attack in that way, in the beginning at least? I'd like to know what others here think of it ...
  19. If i like it, and it doesn't disturb, i let it play. If i don't like it, and/or it disturbs, i usually searches my "head storage" for one i like instead, and get that one going instead.

  23. The ones making it could have gotten it from Deadpool still. It may often be required to see used, to understand how to use it.(I had forgotten that Clint had done a "Dirty Harry 7 ... or whatever amount it was" named "Deadpool") (Besides, a partial off-topic: you said in a thread, now locked, that that kind of thread was already done, and linked to this. However, you were at least partially wrong, since what i got from that thread, was also, or rather? a question on what cameo appearences others would like to see, and this is not a thread where one may list cameo appearences one would like to see. Is there such a thread?)
  24. Are the job discussion finally over? If so, then perhaps you'll notice my post this time: How do we want Derpy to be? I'd like the explanation done by BaldDumboRat on youtube, but how about you others?
  25. Derrrrrrrpy .... I like her too, but she might be a bit hard to fit in .... I tried to play WH40K, but the one who knew the rules better than me massacred my forces several times over, and he was a bad winner to boot....But then, he obviously wans'n that good with the rules, considering he thought a Callidus couldn't infiltrate in a non-infiltration scenario ... and that was only one example. When i finally had put together a force sheet, with included full rules and so on, on one specific force .... it never got to see action. ... And then i lost interest in it. I have always enjoyed many of the miniatures, and parts of the 40K - world(not all of it, though). The force that never saw action was my favourite, it was a Deamonhunters force, including an Inquisitor + retinue. I adore characters, even if they are weak compared to other troops. Therefor, i prefer smaller forces, and i'm more fond of Boardgames ... I have played the Original Space Hulk, with Genestealer and Deathwing expansions ... and i remember that time fondly.
