I support this idea (especially since the one server we were gonna get pretty much just went offline).

It's literally a ghost town. I went on and there was no one! It's like exploring ancient ruins. It's creeping me out because I'm hearing noises as I'm typing this and I keep thinking someone just jumped on o.O EDIT: Hey, quick update. I think they took the server down. I tried to get back on today to look at the main worlds but I couldn't get on at all and pinging the server came back as no response.

Hey, I'm finally getting around to looking at the listed server. First impression, their software needs to be updated to the latest version. It wouldn't let me on with the latest Minecraft so I had to downgrade to get on. If we were to take over the server, that needs to be addressed. I just got on so I'll update the post as I go along. EDIT: Couple things: Main area is pretty big, looks like it supports both PVP and creativeMain area has a anti-cheat plugin that for whatever reason prevents sprinting. Looks like once you get to an actual area though, you can sprint. Looks like the main area is just a bloody huge starship. I looked at the loading dock and I think space is represented by millions of obsidian o.O In the room with the portals, the first two portals in front of you work, one of which is creative and the other being survival. The rest of the portals don't work unless you hit a certain rank. PVP section has a dedicated crafting area in case you need to bang out some tools before entering a PVP world. I'm taking screenshots of all the areas on there and I'm going to throw together a gallery on my Onedrive if anyone is interested. EDIT 2: Exploration finished, above is the server in a nutshell for anyone whos interested. I also took a bunch of screenshots if anyone wants me to throw them up somewhere in case you didn't want to go on.

*Couple days later* Screw it, I can't be bothered to put in the hours to build an arch install xD. So here's a picture of a Mint 17 Quiana setup with Cinnamon that I'm doing instead. I have it set up to look like Gnome 2 and boy, did I miss this kind of setup! It looks beautiful imho. If I go with Linux Mint, I'll probably ponify it soon enough. EDIT: Back on Windows 7, I couldn't justify replacing my install with a Linux Distro so rather than put another post on, I'll just update this with a new screenie. This one does have ponies though!

So, this has been on my mind for awhile now but I'm finally doing it! I'm putting together a custom Openbox setup on Arch Linux. It needs moar tweaking until I can get it to where I like it (probably within the next couple hours xD). But hey, I have ponies on my background so that's progress!

Just out of curiosity, how is Ubuntu as a Desktop OS for you? I played around with the live environment for a bit and really liked it but I'm hesitating to commit to it full time (I actually used Linux for awhile but left to Windows after having issues with the latest distros back then)
