A friend linked me to this earlier, and it actually brought me to tears. I love kids and it breaks my heart that an 11-year-old would suffer so much over so little. I also don't understand apathetic attitudes towards bullying or the belief that children should just shrug it off. If they're too young to drive, get married, work, drink, vote, or own property, why aren't they too young to be expected to withstand regular physical and psychological torment? Those things are all too much for them because they're children, but they should be expected to handle being shoved, punched, spit at, stalked, mocked, put down, ganged up on, shut out, gossiped about, and more without batting an eye?
