    I'm not long home from work. I've put my feet up, I've got some chill as heck music playing, and I've a nice hot mug of tea beside me while I gaze out the window at the setting sun. Overall, I'm feeling quite comfy at present.

    It's always great to see old faces return to us, but I must admit yours is one I wasn't sure we'd see again. I'm glad to see I was wrong. Good to have you back on the team @SCS! I look forward to seeing your own contributions to our busy events team. No shortage of fun an interesting ideas these days.

      But yeah. Colds need to bugger off. A blessing when you're a child or teen, desperately wanting to avoid going to school. A pain in the backside when you're older and are trying to get on with stuff.

      I don't know if they sell Alka-Seltzer in your part of the world, but they make some specifically for cold and flu. I recommend getting some. They really help you get better faster.

      Heh, yeah. Made too many good friends and memories to disappear from here yet. ^_^

      Glad to hear you've been keeping busy. It'd be great to see you around more often if you could manage it! We need to catch up more. :)

      As for myself, things have been a bit of a roller coaster much as yourself. A lot of changes and future challenges lie ahead, but I'm looking forward to tackling some of them, at least. Otherwise, I can't really complain. Things have been on the up and more adventurers are planned for the near future!

      I'm definitely back and here to stay. I've missed this community for years and truthfully I don't know why I ever left. Just got swept up in life to the point of neglecting people here. That I deeply regret.

      Would definitely love to catch up more any time.

      @SCS I can understand that. There have been times where life swept me up and drifted me away from people I care about. Nowadays, I feel as though I try and make a little bit of time for everyone, which doesn't always work out. There just aren't enough hours in the day. :please:

    I generally consider my own stance to be centre-right. I used to be quite liberal in my younger years, but gradually shifted to be more conservative as I distanced myself from 'mainstream' politics. I dislike extremism from either side, and there are still some liberal ideologies I can agree with, but most of my stances nowadays lean firmly into the conservative territory.

    A little sore. Didn't have the best of sleep last night and I think my body is telling me it needs to rest. Bedtime shortly.

    I love scented candles! They help me to relax in the living room when I just need to chill and clear my mind, and the crackling sound you often get from them is as good as any fireplace.

    I read Mere Christianity for the first time last year, and I think it's now one of my favorite Christian works. I've long been a fan of C.S. Lewis and knew full well of his beliefs playing a big role in his other books, but this in particular was an excellent collection of insightful thoughts and arguments. It even had me pursue some further research into ethics and theology. Most of all, though, I liked the way Lewis kept the writing straightforward and at times even a little humorous. Made it feel a bit more grounded compared to most other religious texts. Another quote I recall taking from it: “When you have reached your own room, be kind to those who have chosen different doors, and to those who are still in the hall.” Hebrews 13:2: "Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it."

    I can't hide that I am utterly devastated with this news. Jeric was someone whom I remember from my earliest days in this community, and was a continuous source of inspiration and positivity throughout my years here both on and off the mod team. I don't think it's an exaggeration for me to say that MLPF would not be what it is today without all the love, time and effort he put into it. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to meet him in person a few years ago, and I hope that his memory can be carried on far into the future by the lives he touched and inspired. I'll miss you dearly, Jeric. I hope you and Jessi are together again at peace. Until we meet again.

    *Sips* Well enough. Enjoying the good weather while we have it and getting some gardening done. I should probably be switching to iced tea before too long. I agree that the old thread had some nice vibes. I hope the same will be true of here. Now all we need is some chill music, and we're set! Much obliged! A day for some deck chairs, I think.
