There aren't many things that can match the comfort of freshly dry-cleaned bedsheets.
Except maybe a warm blanket to go with it.
Bliss~

@Pathfinder of Ash It really is an anthem of the decade.

@Samurai Equine It's actually supposed to be a brown leather jacket, but in retrowave things are usually drawn in negative filter, soooo...

Today is turning out pretty good. Y'know one thing that would make it better, though?

@Samurai Equine You can't escape the Friday Shuffle.

Well, today started out a little... dramatic. With a brief trip to the hospital.
Clumsy Mr. Horse tripped on the stairs and got a sharp cut on my left hand. Fortunately the wound was superficial, but the bleeding was enough to make me go get it checked out. 3 hours later I was discharged with a bandaged, disinfected hand and an A-OK from the nurses. Just gonna have to keep an eye on it for the next few days, but they seem to think it should heal fairly quickly. Here's hoping!
How is everyone else today?

I was recently reading a book that talked about how the stairs are the most dangerous part of the house, and how the majority of accidents in your life will probably occur on one. I guess life wanted to teach me that lesson for real.
When you read a book so hard it becomes a reality.
Yeah it's kinda interesting how seemingly "normal" thing that's pretty much everywhere is actually a big sneaky threat. I remember when I fell from stairs back when I was going to school. I literally tripped on the very first step and been rolling and bouncing around like in the movies 'till I hit the floor. I got away without any injuries whatsoever, but I bet it was hilarious to watch, it did take me a moment to get down like this after all. I like how it was loud due to everyone talking during the break-time and suddenly becoming dead quiet, because some comedian started doing his trick on the stairs. But hey, everyone has their own ways of using stairs.
Either way, I'm glad it wasn't anything serious, wishing you a quick recovery! Also when nurses apply bandages, there's healing bonus due to their passive talents.
And me, I'm doing fine. Nothing extraordinary, although I'm tired because I don't sleep well.

This is a good Friday.
I mean, Fridays are always good, but this one is especially great!
So great, it calls for a Friday Shuffle and celebratory cup of tea.
-
They just keep them coming! I can't keep up!
-
It's Sunday Funday.
But the fun doesn't start until I've had my tea.

What's up?
I guess it's another Taco Tuesday... and I've still never even had a taco.

Sunday evening and I find myself watching a stream of someone putting together a model engine.
I can tell that it's finally my weekend.

Hmm.. slow day at work. Time to do some studying!
We recently got hold of some new swords and I've been trying to compile a research sheet for both. Management is considering giving the green light for events and presentations to start up again next month, and I'm hoping to include both of these in a talk.
The first we have is a Peterson Type VII replica. It's... fairly boring in terms of craftsmanship, and being a replica means it's obviously of no historical value in itself. Still, it's a good visual guide for educational purposes, and the kids just want me to swing it around for them (and sometimes even asking if they can play with it. I tell them no. )
The second is a bit more interesting, and was brought into us by a lady who found it in an old storage shed belonging to her late great-grandfather. This is the one I'm trying to identify, and I just can't figure it out! It has a very unique hilt that doesn't quite match others I've studied, but would suggest that it's post 15th century at least. Definitely in too good condition to be anything older. I'm thinking someone fought in a war and either had this as part of their armament or perhaps took it as a trophy. Kinda reminds me of what some calvary units might have used.
Mr. Horse has some homework to do.

@SolarFlare13 Can't say I'm familiar with that one, but I've seen my share of shows that follow similar lines. I love the little intricacies that go into making a tool like this, especially when applied to historical times. It's amazing what some were able to do with such comparatively limited technology. Sometimes there's just no substituting finesse and skill.
@Totally Lyra My mother told me that the 4th grade class she's teaching in are doing this big project about the Vikings and learning the Runic script, and they apparently used a video up of me giving a presentation on weapons. They don't realize how lucky they have it!

I was also going to make a Discord joke, but @Kujamih beat me to it.
Does plenty of light shine through it? I once visited a church with an awesome stained glass window, but they put it on either the north or south-bound wall. No light shining through it ever. Might as well not be a window; it's pretty much just an art piece at that point.

Bleh. A very early start at work tomorrow for the bimonthly fire drill. Has to be done of course, but I'm not an early riser.
*Prepares a wake-me-up music playlist for tomorrow*
Hope you've all been keeping well.

@Toshigami Equine Oh, I'm the same. I just need music on the bus in to work to get me out of my groggy state.
@Kyoshi Tried that. It... didn't go so well.
-
@Dark Horse At least they tell you in advance instead of making the drill a surprise.

A very Happy Birthday, Astral!
This calls for some TEA!!
-
Y'know, there are many things in life that go well with a cup of tea.
But a warm fireplace and some snuggles rank pretty high up there.

Mmm~ One last Christmas coaca before bed.
And before anyone tries to be smart; remember there are twelve days of Christmas.
