  1. If YouTube were to target all videos that promote gluttony (but not necessarily obese people), we'd have to ban many food review channels... and if the government were on board, we'd have to shut down all fast food joints. A Big Mac Meal with medium fries and coke is at least 1,000 calories, and to most people, that's half your caloric intake for the day- in one meal. Regardless of who's eating it, or talking about it on camera- an obese person or a twig- that could be considered gluttony. It brings a question about where the line should be drawn. Are we going to ban everyone above a certain BMI from being content creators and television personality? Surely not! BMI is useless as it doesn't take muscle mass or bone density into consideration. Bye-bye sports! Should the government make pre-packaged food rations, and force people to only eat that? Sounds a bit totalitarian if you ask me. There is no clear-cut way of defining what is too gluttonous, or even what is too fat. I watch obese YouTubers who review tech, and don't review or eat food of any kind in their videos. I watch skinny YouTubers that do. And there's so many content creators out there that don't even show themselves in their videos. Many fast food franchises advertise on YouTube. Banning, or even just demonetizing "gluttonous" channels wouldn't just hurt the platform's reputation with its users, it would more than likely push advertisers away.
  2. I enjoy being in a crowd of strangers, where I'm not expected to interact with anyone. Even hanging with a group of friends, I tend to be the quiet one who's just there to exist. I can talk with familiar people one-to-one just fine, but if there's more than two friends, I tend to clam up. And I don't really consider that a bad thing, either. It feels like my friends and I have an unspoken understanding that I don't have the greatest people skills, but we all still enjoy being around each other nonetheless. I'd say that while at home, living with relatives, I did tend to hide from everyone. Didn't have the best relationship with family. But now that I'm no longer living with relatives, I don't like being alone at all.
  3. Not big on Nintendo, so I might not know what I'm talking about, but... I personally think the non-folding 2DS was meant for younger children that you know could easily destroy a $200 handheld console. Children 3-7. Or, at least that's who I assume the main demographic for it was. For everyone else who didn't care about the 3D functionality of the 3DS, it's a way cheaper alternative if you're willing to give up portability. Nothing wrong with that! As for the 2DS XL, I assume it's just a 2DS that's larger and is clamshell? I think it's still better for smaller children and those who just dislike 3D functionality. It's a step up from the regular ol' 2DS, so the sudden change to clamshell is understandable- you're paying more for the XL version- so why carry an even bigger flat brick around? Elite gamers will shame anyone who isn't as serious as them into buying top-notch equipment or games you otherwise don't want or need. Not all gamers are silly- but some certainly are!
  4. This is my favorite episode this season so far. I enjoyed the small call backs from previous episodes, I enjoyed seeing two unlikely pones hanging out. I'm not a huge fan of derpy, but seeing her reaction to the pizza made my day. Seeing Rarity's face when told the truth about the gems made my day (not in a sadistic way or anything, it was just funny). This episode had a lot of small things that when put together, really made my day. It's been a long while since an episode had that effect on me. As a person who has social anxiety and goes mute when I don't know how to respond to normal conversation, I thoroughly admire how Starlight handles Maud, compared to the mane six when Maud was introduced. She didn't call attention to it, and she didn't turn away from her. That's a small thing that makes me happy. And it's a thing that I've personally experienced- I have people who run away from the awkwardness, and I have people who still talk to me, without expecting much response. While Pinkie's extremely annoying in this episode, (and nearly every episode she's in,) I think it's very easy to see why. She knows her sister is lonely and struggles with pone-to-pone interaction.
  5. My favorite sounds deal with the road. I love general car noise, I love the sound of rain while in a car. I enjoyed the sound of the highway when I used to live by one. The noise of tires splashing through puddles is extremely satisfying. Turn signals are nice, especially the clunk after you made your turn. I also thoroughly enjoy birds and crickets early in the morning.
  6. I would need a chilled room, with a soft, cloudlike mattress and a cool, fluffy comforter. I would need all doors closed and it'd have to be pitch black. White noise would be nice, too. I have a hard time sleeping without the hum of a window a/c or fan. But I'd prefer to not have a fan directly on me. That's about as irritating as trying to sleep with someone constantly poking you, imo.
  7. After the first two episodes this season, I was afraid this episode would suck. I was wrong. Since this one was about trying to juggle responsibilities and knowing when too much is too much, it hit home a lot harder than Baby Cakes did for me. Did anyone think it was weird seeing Flurry with the Cake twins? With the different eyes and all? I can understand Flurry appearing more "grown up" than them despite the fact that they are older, because she's an alicorn. But somehow I don't think that would apply to eyes. Hmm...
  8. That premier was awful, IMO.

  9. I looked at the downfalls of every shitty adult in my childhood and decided to not follow in their footsteps Essentially: Don't let everyday struggles distract you from your goals or dreams, Know what your priorities are and don't neglect them, The more productive you are, the better off you'll be, And don't be judgemental without expecting some sort of opposing force.
  10. Family Guy is a thing I'm lukewarm about. It's a thing I like to put on in the background while I do other things, and it's a thing I watch with people just for the sake of watching something together. I think it used to be alright. The last season or so, however, seems... off. Recent episodes seem to have more chunks of silence, there seems to be less cutaway gags. I'm hating Brian more and more. There's fewer musical numbers. The atmosphere is... Gloomy? And the Road to India episode was abysmal.
  11. I've had family involved with the religion, and I've been to a kingdom hall a couple times. There's a lot I like about them, and there's a lot I dislike about them. I admire the fact that they take their studies seriously- they have study guides for meeting in their watchtowers and such. They're expected to actually pick apart and study the Bible and then participate in discussions during Meeting. I also admire that the children weren't sent to another room to be babysat- children were able to be in that same discussion as the adults. Unfortunately, the congregation that part of my family was a part of believed in throwing your children/teenagers out on the street if they did not share your views. This is what happened to all my aunts and uncles when they were growing up. Add that to the fact that they constantly harass people and the fact that they only approve of their own version of the Bible and you can kind of see why people want to avoid them.
  12. It's been a while, I'm glad to see they are back in action. I can see Saturn Barz growing on me, but I'm not really feeling the other three songs yet. I'm hoping that this upcoming album has more variety than what's been released so far. Part of why I love Gorillaz so much is their ability to span several genres within an album. Saturn Barz' music video was great. I heard a while back that they were planning on changing the art style, and I got scared. But I guess it turned out alright after all!
  13. Anyone here used to eat them back in the day, where the pizza ones used to come with the red plastic pizza spreader thing? I haven't seen any of those in a really long time. Am I just making it up, or did they really come with those?
  14. For the most part, I grew up eating Domino's and Papa Johns. I'd always get excited for the little pepper that would come in each Papa Johns box, but then my family just switched to Domino's for their online customization thing I guess. I quickly got more excited about building my pizza online than a silly old pepper. Domino's also just tasted better. Had a lot of Little Caesars in my life, too. Unfortunately. Generic freezer-section pizza is farrrr better than Little Caesars, IMO.
  15. When watching new episodes: Use whatever device I have nearby to immediately flock to Dailymotion like the cable-less pleb I am, regardless if I'm at home or in public. When rewatching episodes while waiting for the new season: Water/Sprite/Tea along with any snackage by my side, Wrapped up in a nice, warm blanket, Netflix pulled up on the big ol' screen :3
  16. I used to eat them nearly every day after school, growing up. Both Lunchables and the generic Lunch Makers. I haven't had any in seven years, save for the two I had within the last month. I thoroughly enjoyed the popcorn chicken "kaboble" one that was not around when I was a kid. While I'd of thought the pizza one would bring many joyous memories, it just kinda sucked, imo. Fun to assemble, tho I don't see myself buying them on a regular basis anytime soon, however. The actual Lunchables are way too overpriced and not really filling, and the less-pricey Lunch Makers just seem to be cheese, ham, and crackers. I'd much rather just buy Ritz, a block of cheese, and a bag of pepperoni at that point.
  17. I struggled the most with government and history. I have a difficult time understanding anything social studies. Math, chemistry, Spanish, and anatomy weren't that hard for me- I'd just memorize formulas or vocabulary words and spit answers out without much thought. But to understand specific instances of human interaction and the effects of those instances? I have a hard time wrapping my head around those things. I mostly blame elementary school. They would briefly mention "yeah we used to own slaves" or "yeah, the Holocaust and world war 2 were related" but that was it. Suddenly, in high school, they went really specific into things on the assumption you already have a bunch of knowledge on it.
  18. Rules for guests: No illegal substances in my house, No smoking in my house, Take your shoes off if they are wet or muddy, If you're going to pee standing up, raise the toilet seat (don't care if you lower it afterwards, just don't get urine everywhere), Stay out of my bedroom. Don't block the driveway! That's about it
  19. I'm mixed on the issue. My problem is mostly the fact that teens are receiving an abstinence- only education about sex. We seem to skip the reproductive chapters in anatomy. There's a lot of people out there that don't even understand their own body, or how to act when they do come face to face with sex. Safety should be an open discussion. However, if I had young children, I'd much rather them listen to a few swear words and see a little violence than to have them watch an explicit sex scene. Hearing people talk about sex is one thing; watching people have sex is completely different. Children should not be watching people have sex- to me, that's horrible. I personally think that we should be more open minded about it online and in the media. At least acknowledge that it exists. As for pornography, erotica, movies, shows or music where explicit sex is the main plot- don't censor it, but keep it out of young children's reach.
  20. No, I need my dreams! They mean too much to me! I'd rather live in a world where days are longer. Sleeping and working takes 2/3 of your day away right there, and I think that's ridiculous. We need more hours.
  21. I've been unable to play Sims 4 yet, but I've got the first three for PC. I also have Sims 2, Sims 2 Pets, and Sims 3 for PS2 and PS3. Console sims were what me and my siblings bonded over when I'd see them. They never really had a computer for the PC versions, so we settled for the PS2 games. Call me what you will, but I absolutely adore console Sims 2 and Sims 2 Pets. I've tried to play Sims 3 for PS3, but I just can't get into it. I'd much rather just get on the PC to play Sims 3 since they seem really similar and I have that option available. I've also played The Urbz: Sims in the City growing up. Black Eyed Peas had become a guilty pleasure of mine because of it.
  22. As a child that was in the middle of a custody battle for a good 14 years, I found talking to a third, neutral party to be very beneficial. I was (and still am) too scared to even talk to either of my parents. While friends my age could support me, they can't really give helpful advice or teach me coping skills. A psychologist isn't just a person you pay to talk to when you're lonely, and they aren't just going to get you to admit things purely to judge you. Their job is to teach you how to cope with things, and they help you build certain skills. Therapy is a thing you learn and graduate from. They are essentially teachers.
  23. Due to most businesses being closed on certain holidays, it gives families a chance to get together. I have family I only get to see once a year on Christmas. And while I am not a Christian and I believe that religious holidays are bs (Jesus wasn't even born in December, people did not eat chocolate bunnies while Jesus became a zombie, etc.) I personally don't have a problem with their existence. I think having certain times to reflect on certain things is a good thing. Either way, these religious holidays have been turned into secular celebrations anyways (and that's not bad. Everyone has the choice to either uphold tradition, or to not.) Holidays are just anniversaries. Saying that we're better off without them is like saying you and your spouse is better off not acknowledging the day you got married. Even if you aren't big on actual celebration and gift exchanges, it's all about putting time aside to spend time with loved ones. For nothing else, holidays give children a sense of time and fun things to do.
  24. I mostly only swear if I've physically hurt myself, or if something has pissed me off. If I made a mistake, I might throw a "shit" here and there, Other than that, I don't tend to swear in normal conversation. I personally don't think swearing in of itself is bad. It's only bad when you're using them to attack or bully another person, and it's childish if just used profusely without reason. But having to censor an impulsive phrase like "damn it" with "dang it"? It's that sort of thing that I don't see much point in doing.
  25. As a person who has satanist, wiccan, and atheist friends, I can't say I have. Nobody I'm close with in real life worships any entity, let alone believe in the existence of demons.
