And as I responded earlier - this is marketing. There is no reason to have a console other than these games, and Microsoft and Sony know this. It's why they keep snapping up indie studios and paying off bigger studios for exclusivity rights. This does approximately nothing at all that is good for gaming, and only benefits the companies invested in it.

You're all missing the point completely. The games on the list don't matter. I posted the infographic in response to a question asking "What about console exclusives" That infographic is outdated, but it makes the point I intended to make quite well - PC's have far more 'exclusive' games than any other platform. Heck - GTA V is coming to PC now. Is that relevant? No.

@, You're the one who asked what I dislike about consoles. I'm just answering the question from my own biased perspective, as you are replying with yours. You want to take statistics out of this thread? Why? Why not counter my PC statistics with your own? We could have a scientific discussion rather than basing our opinions on our biased emotions, and together objectively work out which platform is best. If you think the last of us, God of war, and Uncharted are good enough to buy a new for console for, i'm not going to stand between you and your $193 games. (400/3 = 133, 133+60 = $193) I am, however, going to pat my own wallet reassuringly to comfort it.

Does the phrase "Next Gen Graphics" sound familiar? Of course it does. It was one of the main 'selling points' of the PS4 and Xbone. If you are going to put your fingers in your ears whenever the words "graphics" comes in to play and outright request something less topical, I'll give you something less topical. Playing games is the most important aspect of gaming. And graphics is not an issue, apparently. So therefore an android phone is as good a gaming device as a console and a PC, because they can both "Play games" I disagree. Strongly. Graphics are a HUGE part of gaming. Having 60 fps allows for much more responsive and fluid gameplay. Running at 1080p allows me to use every pixel on my primary display and actually see what's going on in the game world. Anti aliasing makes the edges of the hard objects render softly and lets me see details round those edges. From Doom to Halo to GTA V, developers are constantly trying to achieve the best graphics in their games, and for good reason. Good gameplay is your meat and potatoes, but graphics are the difference between having that tough piece of steak dropped onto half cold mash and served on a metal tray and having the finest quality, tenderest steak imaginable served sizzling from the grill onto a bed of fluffy, buttery mashed potato goodness.. It's possible to have a good, filling meal of a game without them, but the difference is blindingly obvious. If all anyone cared about were the mechanics not the graphics, we'd still be playing with goldeneye and super mario 64 levels of graphics because they're cheaper to make. The fact that we have games that look good and realistic is proof that graphics are a huge part of gaming. I still enjoy Sim City 2000 (1994) cause it has great gameplay, but when I got a copy of Skyrim I didn't rest until I got it looking amazing.

Would you rather I argue the myriad of uses other than gaming a PC has, or the plethora of input and display options? Printers, scanners, graphics tablets - your console can't use any of those. I chose to argue graphics and gaming because that is what this topic was about, and is the only field consoles can even pretend to try to compete in. My 'better argument' is Maya. Photoshop. Illustrator, After Effects, 3DS MAX, literally hundreds of thousands of programs to do what you want, when you want, how you want. It is free access to the internet and online services. It is replacable parts, upgradable parts, and almost infinite customisaton. It is the power to create rather than consume. It is freedom to operate with whatever operating system you want. It is the ability to have multiple displays, the ability to host servers, make websites, host said websites, It is the ability to mod your games and overclock your hardware to get the last drop of power out of your hardware. It is the ability to connect people in hostile countries to the outside world via encrypted network protocol and give them hope. Should I keep going? No. I'll stop there to give you a faint hope of a chance. What can your console do?

Very few developers are producing their games because they love it. It's an industry. The driving force is what can get the most money back into the pockets of the publishers. Reducing costs is what they're all about. If they aim to release on console, they WILL cut the PC side of things to cut costs. Just look at the whole debacle surrounding Watch Dogs. If it weren't for sony and microsoft trying to make consoles look 'good' by pallid attempts at hamstringing competition and trying to cut costs this type of thing would not happen.

No - the problem lies with the platform and its severe lack of power. Sure, some developers are bad, but they're bad for everyone. Look at the above video. The game they released for XBOX was pared back terribly. It lost almost all the lighting effects, and looks worse than a PC running at medium settings. That's not a pc game coming to consoles - that's a PC game pared back until a console can run it (Which makes that version now a console game). Saying "It's an amazing game" is irrelevant. Sim City 2000 was an amazing game, and it was released in 1994. Say we remove all bias over how games look or play and go to a benchmark test. The results are still there. Consoles just don't have the power to be able to run anything to the same standard a PC can.

Is it legal to play a changeling that is just trying to get along? I was thinking of reincarnating someone like Audrey Hepburn or Marylin Monroe (In concept - not the actual character.) Would a changeling be able to be a high profile actor of some description and still fit within the rules of this world?

You see, there's your problem. If we want to get rid of PC exclusives, we then are required to cater to the lowest common denominator. Consoles. This makes EVERYTHING a console port, and is exactly the kind of rubbish PC gaming has had to put up with for years and years. If we want to get rid of PC exclusives we need to level the playing field, and the only way to do that is by bringing consoles up to speed with PC's (Which is impossible) or just to remove them from the equation altogether. Getting rid of console exclusives is as easy - anything can run a console game, so everything should be able to run it.
