I'll be quite frank that I'm only posting this to see if anyone has any thoughts or opinions on this WIP thus far. I don't mind posting an initial sketch and, of course, the finished product, but I'm a bit leery on posting something that is only midway to completion. But since I'm still trying to get into the swing of using colored pencils again, any comments or critiques would be most welcome. So please feel free to share. @@Silverwisp the Bard, Thank you Silverwisp, and I'm happy to hear that you like most of what I had to share ^^ And to answer your first question, I have considered doing human version of the Mane 6 and some background characters, but often other ideas and projects seem to jump ahead of that. Plus, no one really seemed interested in that idea from me, so I suppose that's another reason why I never pursued it. I can always give it a try though. Any suggestions on who I should try first? You also seem rather keen to the 'Phoenix Guard' and the 'Unlikely Pait' pieces. I'm just curious, any particular reason why you seemed to favor those? I will agree that though the colored Big Mac was an interesting experiment, there are quite a few glaring issues with it. The anatomy looked a lot better in the initial sketch, so I'm not sure how it was lost in translation when I added color. The white spots that you mention are a result of me not burnishing the colored pencil correctly, resulting in it being splotchy and showing the teeth of the paper. And, of course, the scanner seemed to pick up every single on it could ^^; As for the shading, I've always enjoyed a more realistic approach, allowing the shading to define the form rather than line work However, I'm also trying to experiment more with my techniques, to broaden my skills, so I'll have to try a bit of cel-shading on my next go. Digital painting is also not really possible for me, since my computer is a bit outdated and has enough trouble just loading my web browser, let alone a painting program. Sad thing is that I have a Wacom tablet, and I can't even use it. Thanks again Silverwisp, as it is always a pleasure to cross paths with you! ^^ @, Thank you again. Lots of planning ahead, and I'm so ready for it! ^^ Well, not much to show right not. I just started a Tumblr page the other day and I decided to have one of my first posts as a WIP of Zecora. So, here it is: Unfortunately, I've only got the base layer of color down and some very basic shading since then, but I do hope to have it finished soon. @, Thank you most sincerely! As for selling, I have considered it, but I haven't encountered many that have shown any interest in buying. Though I do have high hopes on my vendor application being accepted from this year's BronyCon, so that's a possibility. I suppose we'll see what happens. Thanks again!

@@SCS Thank you, SCS! Though I know I still require a lot more practice, it makes me smile to know that I'm improving in some way. This is especially true with the colored piece, as it had been a while since I last tried my hand at colored pencil when I made it. If only the tooth of the paper wouldn't have been so apparent throughout the piece, it may have looked better. Ah well, lesson learned. Thanks again!

This is quite good for a second attempt, so well done! The proportions seem to be near spot on and you seem to have captured the show's style nicely. I do see a couple things that I'd like to point out though that may help you next time. The the back legs seem to be a just a slight bit longer than the front, but that is an easy fix. The only other thing I see is that the neck and the base of the tail seem to be a bit thick to me but it still doesn't detract anything from the drawing itself. Other than that, you're off to a great start and I do hope to see more of your attempts soon. Keep it up and take care!

Just so you are aware , I have moved your thread to the 'Request Guild' section with the Request tag applied, since you seem to be searching for an artist to draw your OC and that area serve you better than the 'Fan Art' section, which is used for members to display works that they have created themselves. In addition, it may be worth taking a look at any of the various Request Shops that some people have set up within the Request Guild and inquire them to see if they would be interested in drawing your character. A griffin OC? Haven't taken a decent attempt at those for a while, so I'd be more than happy to give this a go (I can offer no promises, sadly). Though I have to say that hair/mane on a griffin sounds a bit odd to me, what sort of style would you like to see? Additionally, is there any sort of pattern on the body in regards to color, or would it be similar to that of a bad eagle, with brown body and white neck? Same question for the blue and white feathers for the head as well. Any particular pose or expression that you'd like to see Sky Song in? Any other details that I may have missed?

Discussion on other's fanfctions would be more appropriate within Sugarcube Corner, as that section deals with the Brony fandom and other related topics. As such, there is already a thread discussing what members personally believe to be horrendous fanficitons here, if you are interested in taking a look through there.
