Why would that be an issue? From what I can tell playboy does very good articles. Is where the whole "I read it for the articles" joke came from. Got a pretty good reputation. (Also anybody who doesn't read playboy because they think anything in it is sexual is probably not going to notice this anyway. But it is. Many artists do it when making comics quickly, either for a deadline or just because they're lazy. He SHOULD have traced his own work. But it made very little difference to the end result apart from the decreased effort. The main thing I've been confused about this time is that he did it in a stream. If he was trying to hide the fact he was tracing he was hardly doing a very good job >.<

Ok I'm sorry but thats just wrong >.< Even with the whole "Plagarism is bad thing" literally ANYTHING is art. I mean for Gods sakes a picture of an upside down toilet is like, famous level art. And whilst bits of other peoples work were incorporated into his work, its still got a LOT of original parts, meaning on the whole. It.. Kind of is? (More arguing about the whole "its not art" thing than anything. Can have your own opinion about how the guys some sort of psychopath for tracing and selling art )

Pfft. Its main target demographic is young girls, and its also designed to not be horrible for parents to watch. Pretty much it.

Considering how psychotic some people have been in this thread this is going to be an unpopular opinion, but just playing devils advocate here, since people seem perfectly fine with show style ponies. What is the difference between an exact copy of the shows art style done by eye, and an exact copy of the shows art style done by tracing? The extra effort? Aren't both technically plagiarizing the art style worked on so hard by the animators?

Changed scenery, changed dialogue, changed settings and drew the rest of the characters whilst tracing the face for speed purposes. And again, I'm pretty sure 99% is a MASSIVE overestimate. Seems like he just traced the characters in the comics to get them through quicker to go for show accuracy. And there are definitely moments where he doesn't trace (Or if he does trace, he's covered it up so well with other factors that its pretty much his own art) i.e : http://drawponies.deviantart.com/art/Drawponies-Profile-Pic-425217209 Just saying people are going a bit over the top with how bad he is. He traced some parts of his art and sold it with a different setting. Not like the art looks any less good xD just means there was less effort put into it (Although clearly my point isn't going to get across considering you think he deserves to go homeless for this kind of stuff >.< )

Not saying what he's doing is right but probably because its quicker and easy to do. Especially if he's just going for show accuracy.

The question is of those drawings how many of them are traced, and to what extent? I'm not saying he's not guilty of stuff but still. A lot of people are making it out as if the guy literally puts no effort into his work and steals everything he does >.<

Psh. For one it was nowhere near 99%. A LOT of his work is original. And he's definitely a talented artist And for another are we really this vindictive? >.< I get what he did was bad but is it anywhere near "I hope he fails life and has to prostitute himself" bad?

Well in terms of selling it I guess its bordering on the "maybe you shouldn't thats kind of illegal" side. So I can understand people being pissed about that . (Although it's pretty funny watching the fandom get REALLY into the idea of taking down fanworks, when usually they'd be horrified about the very idea of hasbro doing that. I.e: Any abridged thing, fighting is magic etc. ). Again I'm going to say that the art looks good (Although ofc it would xD) and his writing style sort of improves things (Unless ofc, he completely stole that as well : P) so I'm not really too mad (But at the same time I guess I didn't buy any of it)
