If I had to pick one thing to love about Rarity, it would be this and this alone: she's not an idiot. For some reason, our culture loves to portray the fashion-loving types as total airheads (or simply mean-spirited). I think it sends a nice message that she isn't super clique-ish or dumb. I love that society has reached a point where not all fashionistas are assumed to be rude or elitist. But I hope that in the near future, we're not assumed to be airheads either.

It would be lovely if I could step foot in the lingerie section at Victoria's Secret without the sales associates asking me who I'm dressing up for. Is it so wrong that I like to be pink and fluffy and, yes, even lacy when I'm lounging around my house? It's how adults play Barbie!
