  1. I noticed those articulated Explore Equestria ponies, and that really piqued my interest. I've never bought anything MLP, but as a casual collector of action figures (and now a few Monster High), these new posable ponies are really calling to me. Are they any good?
  2. Another forgettable episode, for me. The last three have just felt...off. It's becoming harder to simply pay attention during a lot of these season 5 episodes...I can barely recall what happened in many of them. Some have been downright off-putting (I think...I can't really remember them!).
  3. Interesting (but not surprising) that Rainbow Dash ranks so highly here. Being the most "boyish", and this being a Brony site...but honestly, I've always found her a bit off-putting. I know she's a tomboy, but wow...sometimes I find myself startled mid-episode when someone refers to her as "she" and I think, "Oh...oh right, she's a...girl. Riiight." IDK, somehow she seems the least believable to me, out of the Mane Six. Anyhow, I suppose Rarity was my FIRST favorite, built on great S1 episodes like "Suited for Success" and "Green Isn't Your Color". But now, I'd say Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy are tied for favorite. "Keep Calm and Flutter On" and "Pinkie Pride" really helped seal the deal on these two, for me.
  4. I'd agree with you on most of that, except the capitalist economy part. What we have today is more of a "corporatist" or "crony-capitalist", one might even say fascist economy, where government and big business are far too intertwined and prop each other up. And of course, there are large doses of socialism throughout. But of course, that's to be expected in a "democracy", where the natural tendency of people is to vote for goodies from the government, and the politicians to promise the people handouts and something-for-nothing to win votes. Of course that can get ruinously expensive, especially when you have a hobbled, gutted economy--and hence, more damaging economic manipulations are required to perpetuate this cancerous system.
  5. Yeah, this is yet another thing that can turn me on. Not cross dressing myself, but seeing another dude do it well.
  6. Yeah that was cool, but honestly, I've been getting sick of Star Wars in recent years. Damn it is everywhere now, or it feels that way. The last Star Wars related media I saw and enjoyed was the RedLetterMedia reviews of the Prequels. Hilarious.
  7. Well, I just saw Pinkie Pride. Not sure if it's my absolute favorite, but it easily could be. Sooo good.
  8. Looooved this episode! Just when I've been feeling increasingly meh about many episodes, like the show has been loosing something as it goes on, this one pops up and blows me away. Wowiewowowow!
  9. lol, what's this love of gasoline around here!? Don't ya'll go sniffing that too close now...
  10. wow, well I could probably look way back to childhood or early teens, because I really had a delightful carefree young life, so active, frolicking through the fields! Oh, those halcyon years! But in recent memory, I'd say age 32. That was when I kicked a particular bad habit, started eating well and exercising again and getting healthy--and really, just getting my life back in order. Such an important year and age for me.
  11. They all look kind of similar to me. I mean, no huge "imperfections" or disfigurements, scars, female-baldness or psoriasis going on that I can see. Futter's eyes are kinda droopy, but...well her whole body is kinda droopy. One of my favorite ponies though, regardless. Snuggles!
  12. I love the feeling right before a storm--those clouds and darkness rolling in, the breeze, the ominous foreboding, oh yeah! Hehe, yeah those are good. I also like the smell of things I used to enjoy (too much), like whiskey or tobacco, even though I've given up both the booze and the smoke. Lots of memories conjured up by those smells.
  13. I'm nostalgic for season 1, and the first half of season 2. And I've only been watching MLP for about three weeks. Currently up to season 4 ep 6. The ponays are in spandex outfits fighting a supervillainessss. I don't know.
  14. ^^Dad, huh? Yeah, that's usually a good one. For me, dad is kind of a given. That's why I picked my best bud (also keeping with the whole friendship theme 'round these parts....) Kinda surprised at all the celebrity "favorite men" being listed. I'm a fan of plenty of famous men, even long dead ones like Van Gogh, but unless I've known them personally, hard to say they themselves are a favorite person. Rather, I might say some of their work, like a painting, or a movie, or political act, is a favorite. Otherwise, they might have been total assholes, for all I know.
  15. My best friend (since middle school). I haven't seen him in many years, but we've been through so much together, and been so close--I doubt I'll ever have a friendship or relationship quite like that again.
  16. Oh wow, where do I begin?? For the USA: Reliance on the car Extreme suburbanization Our foreign policy Our monetary policy Republicans and Democrats Clintons and Bushes...and Trumps, and Sanders... Techno-grandiosity Crumbling infrastructure Crumbling towns and cities Military-industrial complex Medical-industrial complex Eds and Meds (higher ed and medical) rackets Government/Federal Reserve/Wall Street canoodling clusterf#%& Etc...
  17. Well I'm up to season 3 ep 13 so far, and I'm definitely sensing a weakening in quality, with this 3rd season. Between season 1 and 2, I think 1 slightly edges out 2, for me. But they're close. I also haven't really cared for any of the season opening or finale episodes/2-parters. The ones meant to be big and epic with super-duper villains--they just don't do it for me. Though I did enjoy Keep Calm and Flutter On, with Discord.
  18. Well, I suppose Twilight is as smart as the writers want or need her to be. Einstein certainly didn't have that luxury.
  19. Well, I had some homosexual activity mainly as a teen, then mostly hetero during my twenties, and my fantasies seem to be homoerotic about, say, 30% of the time, to this day. Crazily, after all this, it wasn't until a few years ago, at age 30, that I finally said, or admitted to myself, "Well, I guess I'm bisexual." As if the evidence hadn't been stacking up for over a decade! I wasn't okay with it for a long time, but pretty suddenly, I just...was. Good call. Do like me, decide on a "label", if you must, around age 30. Until then, just rack up some experience, do some lovin', and live life.
  20. Ever since starting my veggie garden, I've learned that spiders and many other "pests" are actually useful, often preying on more damaging insects and protecting the crops. I also appreciate bees and wasps much more now. Nothing better that having tons of these swarming around me in the garden.
  21. I really didn't enjoy these episodes. Again, it holds with the trend of me not particularly caring for the season openers and finales, or episodes involving Big Bad villains. Give me an Applebuck Season, Green Isn't Your Color, Party of One, Lesson Zero, or Family Appreciation Day over these more grandiose epic action, flash bang boom, beat the Big Baddie type episodes, any day.
  22. Look to your local community and economy, try to strengthen and rebuild that. Maybe learn to grow some food. Learn some skills that will make you immediately useful to your locality in the future. Help revive some of the towns and small cities that have suffered over the last 50+ years, but will be crucial for our REAL future. Forget these grandiose fantasies about space colonies (imagine the freakin' cost of that!!), glass and steel "green tech" metropoli stretching outward and upward forever, super-meds keeping you alive to 140, robots doing your chores, highways full of self-driving cars, etc. etc. FORGET IT. Time to get real again.
  23. I didn't really care for these episodes. Actually, I'm finding that the opening and finale episodes of both season 1 and 2 are among my least favorite. For one thing, I just have not enjoyed the "big bad" villains that much. I prefer the episodes dealing with more everyday problems between the main (er, I mean, mane?) 6 ponies or others in Ponyville. Haven't started season 3 yet, so can't say if this will change.
  24. Watching this episode, I actually felt a twinge of emotion when Granny was describing her youth, and you begin to realize how important this old “crazy, silly” pony was to the history of Ponyville, and that there was actually some method to her madness regarding the zap apples. It was very good to see Apple Bloom’s shift from intense embarrassment, to intense pride, regarding Granny. Anyway, I really like this episode.
