  1. Pretty sure Twilight is still way off being ruler of Equestria, if she will ever be. That would pretty much require the show to kill off Celestia and Luna, and I can't see them do that. To quote Tangled, "you get to go find a new dream". People thought Twilight becoming a princess would be endgame, it wasn't. People thought CMC getting their cutie mark would be their endgame, it wasn't. Rarity getting a shop in Canterlot didn't mean she was going to live happily ever after, Rainbow Dash becoming a wonderbolt won't mean she will have no more troubles ever in life. They're still going to live in Ponyville, they're still going to be friends, and they're still going to save the world on occasion. Now, the show could end soon, but as long as it is successful, Hasbro will order more seasons and movies. We could hit 200 episodes somewhere in the future. The characters and show has subtly changed across the seasons, as long as it reinvents itself enough it can keep going.
  2. If the movie is successful, and the show is still successful, they will want to continue it. What's up with all these "zomg the end is neigh" threads? I have not watched Scare Master, but Crusaders of the Lost Mark definitely did not set itself up as an "ending".
  3. Should never have trusted that evil enchantress.
  4. Progression is good, the "let's try to find our cutie marks!" angle was probably dry for story potential. I'm excited to see them move in this new direction.
  5. Oh yeah, I was at the SDCC panel, I can't wait to repeatedly listen to a high quality version of that song. It definitely has a high chance of becoming my new favorite as well.
  6. Why excluding Equestria Girls? Anyway, it's tough. There's so many great ones, so many different styles, etc. I might change my mind later when/if I think more about it, but right now, I'll say Find a Pet. Just love the Disney-vibe.
  7. They definitely managed a rather smooth redemption, considering how hated she's been for the last almost-100 episodes since she was introduced in Call of the Cutie for being a spoiled, arrogant, bitchy bully.
  8. Will next season suck? I don't think so, but it's possible. Will it first start sucking in season 18? Maybe, we don't know. Point is, as long as the show is great, it should continue. I know people want it to end on a high note, but there's no way to tell if it "should" last x or y seasons because it would suck after that magical number.
  9. Bit of a necro, isn't it? Although I guess the recent episode somewhat justifies it.
  10. It was originally going to be episode 15, probably because the second half of the show was supposed to start airing later than it actually started airing. It's a Halloween episode, so they decided to move it to Halloween, since that falls on a Saturday (which makes sense). It does have the side effect of then airing just before the Christmas episode though, which is a bit wonky, so I'll probably put it back in order for future viewings. iTunes probably didn't get the memo though, hence the wrong episode being thrown up.
  11. I thought of the kid thing as well, what I can't figure out is why Pinkie Pie would have such difficulty keeping it a secret. And why they would want it to be kept a secret. More Cadence and Shining Armor screen time is a good thing in my book though, and Pinkie episodes are usually really fun, so I'm excited.
  12. Would like to see her as well, but I guess there aren't a lot of episodes that call for her to be there. The Everfree Forest has been used rather sparingly since season 1, and that's where she lives. Most adventure episodes takes place outside Ponyville these days.
  13. I think both episodes wouldn't have worked without the map. Part of the episodes was figuring out what exactly was the issue, and why these particular ponies had the right qualities. Twilight definitely would have been there to fix it all easily if the map hadn't been there, and the griffons would never have asked for help, because they didn't themselves think they had a problem.
  14. I think the the Cutie Map thing could easily be continued, it's a good format and it makes sense.
  15. The OP mentioned the CMC and how this episode was their story "wrapping" up. So I'm also talking about the CMC.
  16. No, I don't think so. It's merely the beginning of a new chapter in their lives, they pretty much say exactly that in the final song, and the voice actors have confirmed they will still have large roles in the show.
  17. I consider these to be S-Tier poni: The Cutie Map Part 1 & 2 Make New Friends But Keep Discord Slice of Life Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep? Amending Fences, Tanks for the Memories and Crusaders of the Lost Mark are great (Tier 1) episodes. Of course, this is just my opinion, and as others have said, it really depends on what type of episodes and elements he's into.
  18. The show will continue to run as long as it's successful, and it will stay successful as long as it's good and people watch it. Some people are worried that means it will end on a low note, but until the show shows sign of running out of steam, I see no reason for wishing it to end. Look at Doctor Who, that's still going strong, mostly because it constantly reinvents itself, which is the recipe to staying on air for a long time, and so far, I think pony has managed to do that splendidly. People have speculated they will end it with the movie, but I find that extremely unlikely, because if the movie is a big hit, then they would want to do more. I therefore predict at least seven seasons, season 6 in 2016, the movie in 2017, followed by season 7. People are saying Crusaders of the Lost Mark had indications of an ending, but it was made pretty clear that it was simply the beginning of a new chapter for the CMC, like Twilight getting her wings was the beginning of her finding her ground as the Princess of Friendship, and then fill out those duties. Incidentally, I believe most people also thought Twilight becoming a princess would be the end game of the show, but here we are, almost two full seasons later, still going strong, and with a lot of new developments and great pony episodes.
  19. I find that I can't really compare two-parters with one-parters (although if it means anything, I prefer two-parters, because I like epic adventure episodes), so I'll say my favorite of each category. Favorite two parter is The Return of Harmony, Discord is an excellent villain, it was really interesting to see their virtues turned upside down, and it works really well as a conclusion to season 1. I joined the fandom between season 1 and 2, so those were the first "new" episodes I saw, and they blew me away as being way darker and more epic than what had come before. The show has subtly changed throughout the seasons, but I still think it holds up. Favorite one parter is Magic Duel, and it's not because I really like Trixie or anything, but more because it was really cool and way more epic than pretty much every other one parter (until Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep?). Twilight is my favorite pony as well, and I love magic and duels, so magical duels are total win. I also really enjoy how well it thematically ties together with Boast Busters.
