  2. I meant elitists along the lines of Social status, not actual socialists. Hope that clears things up. Oh, trust me, I completely understand your views and even agree with them. I understand that religion plays a huge part in such things as gay marriage issues and still plays a role at times in women's roles in society, especially in certain older-age styles of Christianity. I simply don't want to go on a tangent on everything I dislike about the world and chose to focus in on the people themselves as opposed to the larger organizations in the world which cause issues. I'm far from one to say that religions, businesses and government are things that aren't hurting us in the world, but I don't think there's much point in putting out all of my views on how miserable a state I think the world is in.

    gaming Nostalgia Thread

If I were to go through all the things I am nostalgic about in gaming alone this page would be 90% Nico's post and 10% everypony else. So instead I'm going to slap down the game I'm currently most nostalgically enthusing about, especially given that I might be playing it again soon: Legend of Legaia for the original Playstation. This game has eluded me beating it for more than a decade at this point, with various reasons cropping up that I lose my data, the game itself or even the console I was playing it with every time I got near beating it. This game is one of the most innovative RPG's that I have ever played and, to me, is one of the most enthralling experiences that the PSX era of gaming had to offer. I was very disappointed when I picked up the sequel to it around 2003 only to find out that it was a mediocre hashed-together piece of crap. Given that I beat that terrible sequel, though, I could never let myself go through life without actually beating the fantastic first game (and the secret boss that I accidentally stumbled upon once during a playthrough, too).
  4. Whatever I'm wearing when I'm tired is what I'm sleeping in. I really don't care all that much regarding that. My bedroom has no bed because I generally sleep on the floor and, therefore, not having a bed just saves space for use during the day. If I decide I need something soft to sleep on for a change I move onto a couch for a night. Regardless of WHERE I sleep I need a soft pillow, preferably high, though any kind can do in a pinch. If absolutely necessary I fashion a faux pillow out of a thick comforter (seeing as that's what I usually sleep under anyway) while simultaneously sleeping under it. I generally can fall asleep on my side or my stomach, though I prefer the latter, and I cannot fall asleep on my back unless I'm absolutely exhausted to no end.
  5. The world has many problems right now and will always have problems no matter what happens. The thing I dislike the most in the world right now, however, is inequality due to closed-minded fools who only know oppression for one reason or another, be it religion or social upbringing otherwise. The problems with these people isn't necessarily the organizations they're with (unless it's a group dedicated to being socialistic elitists, of course), but with the people themselves. Due to this, there is very little that can actually be done with fixing the problem of closed-mindedness. Sexuality, gender, race, social status and so on will always be things which are opposed by some people simply because their closed-minded ways don't allow them to listen to reason, and nothing short of a genocide of people who were closed-minded (which would be even more ridiculous than the people themselves) would make things even begin to change. It's the people who don't listen to reason and simply won't let other people live their own lives that make me angry. A lot of people who share similar views with me point their fingers at religion or social areas, but I know that a lot of people from stereotypically black-labeled locales and religions aren't like the stereotypes they fall into. So, I just dislike people who make the world full of hate only because they personally feel that certain types of people are of lesser status in the world.
  6. Skyrim is a worthwhile game to play, that's certain enough. Whether you should buy it or not depends on how much you like open world RPG's and if you could possibly rent it first or not (which, if on PC, you obviously can't). If you've played Oblivion then you know a lot of what to expect with this one, as not much has really changed, mechanic-wise. Skyrim is a much more varied world than Cyrodiil was as far as the environment, but quests tend to be overdone repetitions of ones you've already done before. Expect the main quest to take you roughly six hours to complete, at the most, if you focus on it. Then there are a few guilds and a couple of quarreling factions which make for the game's meatier sidequests. Other than that, the game is pretty bare-bones on content unless you're just a die-hard completionist. On the plus side, getting into the 'mage's guild' in this one is much less of a chore than in Oblivion, so there's that. If you like RPG's, especially if you liked Oblivion, I would recommend trying it.

  8. If sleep were anything less than necessary for sustained living I simply wouldn't do it. I may not do much all the time but I view all time spent sleeping as time wasted that I could have spent doing something else. That being said, when I become tired and finally go to sleep, it's absolutely amazing until I wake up, in which case I hate that I can't just keep doing it, because I don't wake up easily. In short: If I'm not tired, I hate it, but when i'm tired it's amazing.
  9. That moment when you have nothing to do and wonder why that always happens when sleep isn't a good option.

  11. Mailmare, you give us such wonderful science!

  12. The MLP Forums staff most certainly expects madness on this day, due to the fact that Feld0 is out of the picture and the great Mailmare is in his place. With all of this testing it's an easy assumption to make that there will be confusion and a bit of chaos. It's all for the greater good of science. The staff will continue to do their duty and clean up after experiments gone awry, but for the remainder of the day there will be more testing, and we cannot just stop testing before it's officially time. That would be wrong. Think of all the ponies who are still alive... and could benefit from our science. So go ahead, continue to experiment for the day. We'll clean up the test failures as the reports come in.
  13. Personality traits, too? I'll have to post that up later, but I don't think I can focus on such a reply at the moment.
  14. I'm not too particular on what I find attractive, as there aren't really things that are just attractive in and of themselves as opposed to attractive 'arrangements' of features. However, I'd be a lying fool if I said there weren't a few things that I am partial to no matter what when it comes to finding the ladies attractive, though it's not like these are things I find mandatory. I suppose that, given the small amount of things on my list, I'll provide moderate details. First off, the major thing I'll always notice in a girl before anything else (unless I wake up and see her staring into my eyes close-up for the first time I ever see her) is her hair, since I can see it from any distance. I'm preferential to redheads and either long hair or short, but not really an in-between. That's not to say that girls with moderate length hair of a different color aren't attractive to me; not at all. It's all just preference, you know? Secondly, I love a lady's eyes. Whether they believe it or not, I spend my time while talking to them looking at their face and eyes are very engaging when doing such. I'm especially a fan of emerald green eyes, especially on a redhead. But, really, I find green eyes to be absolutely gorgeous, so I'm quite partial to girls who have them, and you're almost guaranteed for me to remember your eye color if they're green. I think this falls under my fascination with eyes, but I'm quite partial to girls who wear glasses, too. I really can't explain it, but the 'smart' look that glasses offer is something I just really like, especially on, you guessed it, redheads with green eyes. Finally, there is a part of a girl that I pay attention to that's not on her face occasionally, and that's her legs. I'm not gonna go ogling a lady's legs all the time or anything, but I do appreciate trim legs. This is probably the most shallow thing I like in women, but it's also probably the least important to me of my attraction pinpoints. So, uh, yeah. There you have it.

    Banner idea

Eenope. Grendo left the forums about the time the changing banners started. As for what everypony here is saying, I personally don't think it's such a bad idea, but just as much as it could foster pride in those who get selected, it could also foster jealousy and low self-esteem, especially if somepony 'loses' multiple times in a row. That being said, I suppose this is something for Feld0 to officially decide.
  18. Well, no parental explosion, so it looks like Nico is still here to stay. But I'm wary of what's going on; it's not normal for my parents not to react.

  20. Dropped my classes for this semester. Going home later tonight to a house of resentment. It's gonna be one hell of a ride. Don't know if I'll be able to get on her for a while after this, so just in case: It was nice knowing you everypony. I'll see you on the other side, hopefully.

  21. You were the original inspiration for this group, XFizzle. You definitely deserve a pat on the back. *Pats XFizzle on the back* I'm really hoping that, even if IP.Gallery makes a comeback, the dA group sticks around and sees success.
  22. I'm sorry to hear that you're not a fan of deviantArt, but the simple fact is that deviantArt has more functionality than IP.Gallery did. Don't worry, though. There's always a chance that IP.Gallery might come back in the future, but for now the dA group is our mainstay. And, as my quote says, you can still use Octavia's Hall to show of your work.
