Going by the timeline I got at Bronycon (which I like) its been 7 years so 7 summer sun celebrations most of which weren't covered. Which also means Twilight has 6 or so years of part time princess lessons and now Celestia's shoving the crown on her. It's too fast, too soon and if it weren't for the no death rule of the show I'd be expecting Celestia to have had visions of her and Luna's death at Grogar's hoves which is why she's pushing Twilight so hard to be ready to take over.

The restricted section in that picture is from one of the Equestria girls specials I think it was forgotten friendship. My problem with Twilight becoming ruler of Equestria is that it feels rushed given how young she is, that she's often called away for various responsabilities as she does have other commitments.

Errr what? Looks at previous episode and Twilight's freak out then at this one and back again . . . ooookkkk . . . . 1) Well first off the whiplash from the last few episodes with Dash only caring about herself, Pinkie being wacky, Fluttershy panicky and Twilight freaking out to this is considerable. 2) Still very much dislike Celestia and Luna stepping down in favour of Twilight when she's still young. Either (a) she's immortal and still has a lot to learn (like dealing with the death of friends and loved ones) or (b) she's not immortal and in a however long ponies live there'll be no princess. 3) Cutie marks being a purpose in life seems to be getting chucked out the window here. Celestia and Luna passing on stewardship of the sun/moon which is OBVIOUSLY their power to Twilight or the unicorns suddenly not wanting to do the fireworks display that is apparently their purpose in life for years on the words of one random pony. 4) Really no one noticed the magic draining, the symptoms of Tireks attacks when they've experienced them before or Cozy Glow? 5) As part of this no one noticed the guard who did SEE all 3 villains? The trained soldier just lay there and did nothing after seeing THREE of what have to be Equestria's most wanted, two of which are supposed to be in Tartarus whereas the cowstallion was able to drag himself all the way into the castle to warn about an illness? 6) Increased security involves fans on all the rooftops, what for? 7) Convenient that the bell book was chained up in such an obvious way with no guards on/in the restricted section whereas when Twilight visited the normal section it was full of them, the key book being used to break the chains did get a partial laugh out of me. 8) Summer sun celebration seems to have changed massively from season 1 when it was an all night party followed by the sun being raised and everyone going to bed now it seems like the night is preparation and the celebration takes place the next day. Then of course we have Celestia and Luna trying to end it and Twilight just altering a thousand year old celebration these ponies grew up with. Not a fan, if you are planning to retire leave the holiday alone. Also why did Cozy Glow consider it a silly festival when she seems to share the normal pony enjoyment of these things i.e. "road trip"? 9) Seems contrived that with the magic drain/restoration, the mysterious filly mucking up the weather, the mysterious securtiy guard failing to get into the castle (why not just assume one of the mane 6 forms as they don't seem to have those talismans), the fact a security guard SAW all 3 of them and yet somehow no one realizes that 3 major villains broke into the castle for something . . . 10) I see Windigoes in Equestria's future, wonder if ponies are starting to forget the meaning of Heartswarming viewing it as just a "commerical holiday where you get presents"? No not a fan although part of that is due to several seaosn 9 plots that I dislike being in this episode but that aside there's a lot here I dislike. I would like to see Josh Scorchers reaction to those castle guards though.

Hmmmm . . . 1) Twilight owns a DJpon3 nightshirt is she a fan of her music? 2) I suppose its a good thing these recent episodes haven't only been exagerating Dash''s bad qualities they did the same thing here with Twilight and Pinkie. 3) Considering Triviatrot is apparently a weekly event I'm surprised winning 3 weeks in a row was such a big deal to Twilight. 4) Those contestants seem rather random as I don't see Sunburst travelling all the way from the Crystal empire once a week to compete much less the others. 5) Cranky was not well presented as someone to live with. 6) I like Applejack hiding and Blushing at Granny's scolding there. 7) Even losing her cool Twilight seemed to be acting rather off there with trying to get other ponies disqualified on technicalities. 8) Speaking of which those rules are bizzare and I have to wonder how they got introduced in a number of cases. 9) I approve of the continuity nod with Daring Do's hat having 20 arrow holes. 10) Considering how easy scoring seemed to be I wonder what traumatized Starlight? 11) How do you even get considred a winner at a game when the teams are randomly assigned each week, I mean you could just be lucky and contribute nothing to your partners wins? 12) We again see ponies using their cutie marks as ID rather than their names which is interesting considering how intwined with who they are those marks are. All in all I think I'm not a fan of this episode.

Hmmmm . . . 1) I see they're still having Dash make the same msitake and learn the same lesson, wonder if like Fluttershy she'll ever be shown to actually improve a bit. 2) Odd that they had Dash so bad on cheer squads considering she essentially did it as a foal for the Equestria games, helped coach the ponyville foals for their shot at being flagbearers and has asked her friends to come to her important events for moral support. 3) I wonder if the cute cheerleading outfits were part of Smolder's reason for being a cheerleader. 4) Funny how important it was made out to be when the school of magic (wonder when that changed from Celestia's school for gifted unicorns?) didn't even have a squad. 5) Those lead dancers were pulling off moves that looked painful. 6) Snips is starting to make me think he's like what Flim and Flam were when they were young. 7) It was interesting seeing that pegasus catch the ball with her wing at one point evidently magic play's an even bigger part in Pegausus flight than I thought. 8) Buckball seems to be growing more and more popular in these episodes I wonder if they even remember the other games ponies used to play? 9) So Celestia gets another new "interest" and aspect to her personality . . . I'm not sure how I feel about this. 10) Nice to see Dash considers Zecora a friend. 11) So we also get confirmation the students sleep 2 to a room, why was Smolder sleeping outside? 12) I find it interesting that all the cheer squad were female except for Snips who was there to sell merchandise I kind of thought Equestria would be less female focused there especially as mare's seem to outnumber the males. Not a bad episode but not really memorable or something I'm likely to rewatch I think. It's made worse by the fact she's essentially playing with her students interests as if Dash didn't learn her lesson it could potentially destroy the cheer squad they all are invested in.

So I finally get the chance to play catch up on the episodes I've not had a chance to watch so these comments are going to be of the 1, 2, 3 variety as I work through them. That said onto this episode. 1) Kind of a bitter sweet nature here with Pinkie feeling everyone's moving on and leaving her behind combined with the fact the show's ending you know a lot of fans are eventually going to do that. Makes it pretty easy to empathise with even without the fact a lot of us have probably felt like this at one time or another that we're going nowhere while everyone else seems to have goals and drive to go somewhere and do something. 2) I liked her comment they need to look behind them more when they're complaining she's not there. Plus her teasing Applejack about her hat. 3) Rather odd that this is all about her and Cheese Sandwhich's purpose yet it doesn't involve the crusaders when helping ponies find their purpose is entirely their reason for existing. 4) Pinkie looked cute in her athletics and science gear. 5) Is it wrong I think Mud Briar would be the ultimate test of a party ponies ability to make someone laugh? 6) I think that personalized invite was not edible.

Unnecessary perhaps but they do seem to show it in a few episodes which is what prompted the question in the first place.

Interesting inbformation there about real life horses. So ponies probably are right or left hoved or winged, works rather well with Dash catching that drink on her rear hoof while Pinkie's singing just be brave and have no doubt. Which come to think about it she was using her back LEFT like Dash in the Equestria girls was left handed so perhaps Dash really is left hooved . . . interesting wonder if that was intentional matching the two.

Just something that came into my head today do you think ponies can be right or left hoved and ambi/quad-dextrous?

The thing is based on everything we've seen her friends are more family to her at this stage than her parents. Yes she "loves" them but from what we've seen its been years of her growing up, possibly most of her life with them as an absentee feature while she's looked after by Dash, her aunts, the cakes and spends most of her time with Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom. From what I've been able to determine by this stage its been nearly 7 years of in show time with her parents not there if you assume she's still mid/late teens or equivilent she's only been getting brief visits from these ponies for almost half her life if not more and then gets told she's got to go somewhere she wont see the ponies who've chosen to be her family and probably wont even be able to pursue her special talent. For me I'd rather to see them read the riot act by somepony then Scoot going with them.

Nope quite a few people mentioned that we get them in this episode. There's actually two when she first gets apprehended one white and that blue one.
