His very existence is so interesting and unique. He's not only a shadow, but a pony of dark crystal, unlike everyone else. It's so unfortunate that the show depicts him as a one-dimensional, one-note villain who's only there to be foiled when they've given him so much background to be explored. Not just in regards to The Crystal Empire, but in regards to Discord. They can kill him all they want, but his story is eternal.

@CloudMistDragon I've always liked characters who actually get that full, interesting backstory, especially villains! It just makes you think: Are they really the bad guy?

@DivineCheer1000 Same! Exactly why I love King Sombra's story in the comics but not Chrysalis'. Having her just be "born evil" was really stupid, good for comedy, terrible for character building. Chrysalis' story doesn't end with her being stoned to me, and I'll never accept any nonsense about Sombra's story ending with death after being resurrected. Only big thing I don't like about Season 9 is a lack of things feeling finished, so I super hope the Season 10 comic and upcoming special and movie will change that!
