I'm officially figuring out how to make pony plushies. I don't care what excuses are made, over $100 for a stuffed animal is ridiculous! I'm totally going to learn to be crafty.

I definitely think that people realize how wonderful Lauren Faust's art is for this show, along with the writing for the episodes, and that they are doing well enough now to not change a thing. If anything does change in the future, I will stay a FiM fan anyway.- 59 replies

I definitely agree that Luna is a great character who deserves some more screen time. She has a lot of depth and, hopefully, we'll get to see her more in season 3. I just hope they write better episodes for her with a more touching or solid purpose. -
I probably have the most unpopular view of this episode but, personally, I find it one of the worst of the series. Now don't get me wrong, I love Luna and was looking forward to seeing how she'd adjust after being saved from her more evil Nightmare Moon persona, but I was sorely disappointed. We learn a lesson which is so ridiculous that it was almost offensive to her character. Nothing says lame like "oh it's GOOD they're scared of you because they find it fun...so just learn to love being scared of". It even sounds ridiculous to say lol. I think this episode would have been greatly improved if they took that sensitive subject and turned it into an episode about people understanding her, how she feels, and NOT being scared of her. The opposite made me truly dislike this episode.

How do you feel when you're buying MLP stuff in a shop?

I try not and get embarrassed over buying MLP merchandise because it's something I like and life is too short to worry what other people think. I'm a fully grown and married woman and, one time when I was out with my mom for one of our shopping days, I picked up the royal wedding three figure set (Princess Cadance, Shining Armor, and Twilight Sparkle) and she just said, "Well at least it's cute!". lol -
I like the pictures of what you made. Could you, by any chance, be commissioned to make a Soarin one? I agree that the steep price of over $100 is a lot of money to spend on a custom plushie. I found some good plushies online of Soarin but the price really tossed me for a loop! However, I doubt they'll make a Soarin one anytime soon officially since he's a secondary character. -

My husband and I actually were talking about this today on our way to the store. We said that, if we ever were to go to a Bronycon or for Halloween, he would be Soarin and I would be Rarity yet we'd stylize it. For Rarity, I'd put on a purple wig and wear a sleazy white cocktail dress with the cutie mark on it and some white wedges. It'd be really cute and fun! Maybe I'll do that for next Halloween!

I agree with you, to a degree, that Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy appeal more to male bronies than the others do. If I had to choose one of the main six, I would probably choose Rarity because I'm a lot like her (flare for being dramatic and all). But I think you offer an interesting point. Either way, I think the writers will keep going exactly as they are and putting out quality episodes.

I agree with you about the scenes with Rarity and Prince Blueblood. She did learn the most out of that episode and was the closest to the theme tie-in or "moral of the story". I will say, however, that I disagree about Rainbowdash's scene only because I think it a positive thing they showed the Wonderbolts in a comedic light. Even celebrities are people who can be very quirky. I think this made the Wonderbolts seem like they could be just like any other pony outside of their talent for speed. In Soarin's case, it made him even more likeable.

As a girl myself, I'll say that hopefully things will stay the same. I think the reasons people become bronies are the same - regardless of gender - and that those reasons will remain the same regardless of the ratio. This is a great question though!

Best part of this episode: Pinkie Pie on a rock farm with straightened hair and a demure outlook on life. I have a few guesses on what her former life was supposed to represent in pop culture. Anyone else think that the whole rock farm thing was supposed to reference some other demure kind of life? -
I was pretty excited to see Soarin actually speak in it...and learn he certainly loves eating an apple pie without shame. I think the voice actor they chose for Soarin really fits his persona! The episode in itself wasn't so bad, even though I agree with most who said it doesn't feel like a season finale. I think that Rarity stomping the glass slipper was my second favorite part though. No prince charming fretting her again!

My Favourite Mane 6 Pony: Rarity How did you find MLP Forums?: Google search How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: My best friend is a pretty artistic type who tends to keep her television watching down to a bare minimum. She's always reading something intense or thinking about some sort of social or political debate. She is also a brony! I gave the show a chance because of her and I've loved every episode of it. I'm a pretty easy going type of girl, married and out of college with a full time job in customer service I almost convince myself I like having. Hey, work is work and I love getting to interact with people. I've never had a problem being social even when I was a child. When it comes to MLP:FiM, it always surprises me how broad the fan base is. It's almost this cathartic process of involving myself in watching episodes, reading fan fiction, and posting on the forums. I feel innocent and happy without apology. A feeling like that always makes the day brighter.
