  1. I can't believe Peyton Manning and the Broncos lost yesterday. And I'm not even a Denver fan.

I'm not surprised. Baltimore is a team on a mission, and I picked them to win the AFC title.

I'm more stunned about HOW Baltimore won.

The Ravens can't beat the Patriots. With Denver out of the way, Tom Brady will be the AFC quarterback in the Super Bowl for the 6th time.

  2. Banned for being a rectangle instead of a square.
  3. This DOES look like fun! I can't believe I haven't noticed it until now... - Dash 90/100 The “perfect flawed” hero. - Twi 85/100 A better egghead than I'll ever be. - Pinkie 67/100 Why does she have to be so random? - AJ 88/100 The most well rounded personaltity of the Mane 6. - Rarity 82/100 Too often she acts like her EOH is greed instead of generosity. - Fluttershy 95/100 Her love for her friends and devotion to animals far outweigh her shortcomings. - Derpy 60/100 I should just ignore this fanon phenom...but I can't. - Vinyl 60/100 She can MC at my wedding... - Octavia 65/100 ...but only if Octavia isn't available. - Lyra 73/100 Only because she's Bon Bon's BFF. - Colgate 50/100 Totally neutral to me. - Berry Punch 80/100 Her reaction to Apple Bloom's sales tactics was priceless. - Sweetie Belle 85/100 Best CMC. - Applebloom 70/100 Would be 65 if she weren't modeled after Blossom. - Scootaloo 80/100 Is now my second favorite CMC. - Babs 55/100 For now, 55 is the most I can give her. - Big Mac 72/100 Eeyup. 'Nuff said. - Spitfire 65/100 One hot babe (rimshot). - Trixie 50/50 Trick...C? Didn't she have to take up rock farming? - Cheerilee 76/100 Being modeled after Ms. Keane earns her extra points. - Shining Armor 60/100 Not his fault, but not knowing about his existence sooner hurts him. Nobody is perfect, therefore nopony gets 100. Celestia, Luna, Cadance, Spike, Dr. Hooves, and Bon Bon should be rated too, but I didn't want to mix their numbers into the official tally so I'll rate them here: -Celestia 70/100 Hopefully she won't send me to the moon for a 70. -Luna 75/100 I'm not alone in liking Luna more than Celestia. -Cadance 60/100 Being in only four episodes, she's barely on my radar. -Spike 77/100 The little guy always gives it his all. -Bon Bon 64/100 The mare of 1,000 voices would make Mel Blanc proud! -Dr. Hooves 53/100 In the big scheme of things, he's unimportant.
  4. PPG-Mane 6 comparisons have also been made, and their attributes are usually broken down like this: Blossom's intellect and leadership abilities-Twilight Sparkle. Blossom's beautiful hair and sense of style-Rarity. Bubbles' joy and laughter-Pinkie Pie. Bubbles' affinity with animals-Fluttershy. Buttercup's rough tumble tomboy nature-Rainbow Dash. Buttercup's, ugh, I forget this one. Whatever quality she has that most closely identifies with Applejack. @, I dunno, I'll have to take another look at that eye when I get a chance.
  5. When I was your age, Pluto was still considered a planet. Don't I sound like a geezer saying that? I'm going to vote for Saturn because of it's awesome rings.
  6. To be sure, Sweetie Belle is nowhere near as girly as Bubbles. But she's more girly than Scootaloo or Apple Bloom. Scootaloo isn't all about fighting and Apple Bloom isn't shown to be a straight A student either. Thus their personalities correspond rather loosely to Bubbles, Buttercup, and Blossom, but they still fit the same basic pattern.
  7. Hopefully Equestria has no equivalent of things like the KKK or the Nation of Islam. If they did, they'd boycott the Cake's bakery because of the "race mixing" in their family.
  8. I couldn't sleep last night. Thinking about all the dumb decisions I made over the years kept me up. I'm a blithering idiot.

  9. Lauren Faust's prior work on the Powerpuff Girls and her marriage to PPG creator Craig McCracken is common knowledge among bronies. Same with Tara Strong's VA duties. But what the average brony may not know is that about half of MLP:FiM writers are PPG alumni. So it's only natural to have a few shout outs to PPG fans, some more overt than others. Start with the Cutie Mark Crusaders: Apple Bloom/Blossom – The leader girl with red hair who likes to wear a big bow. Sweetie Belle/Bubbles – The girly girl who likes making others happy. Scootaloo/Buttercup – The sporty tomboy who pretends to find affection disgusting. The most obvious PPG shout out to date is this clip from Hurricane Fluttershy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-Scvnd7KXo&list=LL-z7Z2EC6--9V3loidgwfHQ In addition to being the obligatory Valentine's Day episode, Hearts and Hooves day is a tribute to Keen on Keane. In this episode, the PPGs hook up the Professor with their teacher, Ms. Keane. Unlike the CMCs, the PPGs don't need a love potion for the grown ups to hit it off! The scene Stare Master where Scoots and AB dress up as a cloaked monster and Sweetie Belle says “You cannot run from me” may be based on a similar skit in The Powerpuff Girls Best Rainy Day Adventure Ever. @@Feather Gem, @@Twinhead B, Thanks for reminding me about Snips and Snails. They are from the nursery rhyme about what little boys are made of. That's what the Rowdyruff Boys are made of and the Powerpuff Girls are sugar and spice and everything nice. Thoughts and additional possible references are welcome.
  10. I've read both of them. And because I rarely read fanfiction, that MUST mean they're both very popular. I have no hard evidence, just an opinion based on what I've seen. I think Cupcakes is a tad more widely known than MLD. What did I think of each story? On the one hand, I didn't care to read about Rainbow Dash being tortured and hacked to pieces. OTOH, the constant state of overpowering emotions, usually sad emotions, made MLD difficult to read at times. It's laid on too thick, from beginning to end. We never get a chance to come up for air! One MLP fanfic critic said that the author of MLD has since made stories with better writing quality, but those are nowhere nearly as popular. MLD is kinda like that blockbuster movie that's panned by critics but goes on to set box office records anyway.
  11. Aren't there already five other threads about this? The MLP fandom will not die completely. An internet search will reveal that a fanbase exists for even the most obscure and forgotten cartoons. Instead of agonizing over an inevitable decline in fans and interest, we should be embracing MLP:FiM while it's in its prime with many more successful years to come.
  12. Giraffes in the air, put giraffes up in the air! Giraffes in the air, put giraffes up in the air! Giraffes in the air, put giraffes up in the air! Giraffes in the air, move around like you don't care! ZeeBrony edited and posted this video immediately after A Canterlot Wedding ended. It is now up to 3,750,000 views. I looked but I wasn't able to find it on this site so here it is for your viewing pleasure.
  13. Honestly, about 7/10. Reminding me how much I didn't want to go to work today was low, man.
  14. Sacrebleu, I speak the Old French!
  15. Whenever you have a question about MLP's dubbing in other languages, odds are, other fans have the same question. A search on Youtube found this and shows how it was done: "I speak the old French!"
  16. Sweet and Elite is a fine episode, but I'm too much of a Fluttershy fan to not vote for Stare Master. I know what it's like to try to keep three children full of piss and vinegar under control. It had the best Fluttershy squee ever. And it taught me the correct way to call a chicken: "Scootaloo! Scoot, Scootaloo!" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSMq7nby0cA
  17. I just checked the Wiki article again. When the title of the page was changed from Bon Bon to Sweetie Drops, there was a line in there saying that the name Bon Bon wasn't available for trademark but Sweetie Drops was. I don't see that statement in the article now. Nonetheless, there are a few places in officially released items where she's called Bon Bon. http://mlp.wikia.com/wiki/Sweetie_Drops Considering she has several speaking lines, what is her name in the script? Bon Bon? Sweetie Drops? Background female Earth Pony 379? Oh well. Lyra Heartstrings and Bon Bon Sweetie Drops: BFFs!
  18. Welcome to the forum. To answer your questions: 1. It's perfectly normal to be a fan of a TV show. 2. If you were a heterosexual before you started watching MLP:FiM, you won't become gay, honest! 3. Crushes on fictional characters are very common. Unless it completely rules your thought life and interferes with school or other things, you'll be fine.
  19. Things that annoy me: Paper cuts. When you wait a long time in line at the store and when you're finally the next person, THEN they open another register. Cats running through the house in the middle of the night when I need to sleep. Adding a long, well written, and thoughtful post to an online forum only to come back the next day and see it hasn't garnered a single reply (or brohoof if the forum in question is MLP Forums).
  20. Are you serious? The only time I've ever heard of Andrew WK having any connection to ponies is a famous fan made video based on Cupcakes using the song "Ready to Die". What is his speaking voice like and would it be fitting for this cartoon? Cool that he's a brony, but I hope it's not just because of Cupcakes video. Because posting a direct link to the original video may violate community guidelines, here's the clean version.
