  1. My cats are more clever than Feld0.
  2. A GI Joe hovercraft I got for Christmas many years ago. I was never able to finish the propeller assembly so I finally decided to use it for target practice instead. Which is better, Krispy Kreme, Dunkin Donuts, or Tim Hortons?
  3. I dunno about that...I could make a compelling case that Fluttershy or even Applejack is best pony if I wanted to. Anyway, welcome to the forum. The cafeteria is to your left and the washroom is down the hall. Have fun!
  4. Here's Last Friday Night, MLP editions! Most of the still pictures in the first one were drawn by johnjoseco at Deviantart. And cartoon footage naturally belongs to Hasbro. Enjoy! And if you prefer an edition with 100% cartoon images, try this on for size. It's not as repetitive as the last one either. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdLOWxdbET4&list=LL-z7Z2EC6--9V3loidgwfHQ
  5. Until just now, I wasn't tempted to look ahead and ask myself, "What episode do I want to win this tournament?" But thanks to an excellent reply just above me, that decision has become very easy. I mean, why not? Although the title ostensibly identifies this as a Fluttershy episode, Rainbow Dash is also a star here. If my two favorite ponies do go on to win this tourney, I'll be so proud of them I could burst! As someone who feels like a failure after failing, especially in athletic endeavors when I was growing up, this moral hits close to home for me. Besides that, Fluttershy didn't want to fly into the tornado in the first place. And when she finally decides to participate, it started to overwhelm her. But instead of quitting and bailing out, she found the courage to persevere and helped the team complete its mission. Despite her physical shortcomings and her fears, she's one of the Elements of Harmony because she possesses the same asset the other five do: heart. This episode also made me feel for Rainbow Dash. For once, the pegasus who normally has the power to do anything she wants, was powerless. If she could, she would've lent half of her wingpower to Fluttershy so she wouldn't feel so inadequate. Cindy Morrow and everybody who helped to make this episode did a phenomenal job. Stellafera, for someone who's not a big Fluttershy fan, you sure do find a lot of nice things to say about her. Moreover, your character and episode reviews are always a pleasure to read. Good critical writing skills and attention to detail continue to be evident. In fact, some of your articles look like they were written by a college student. Are you sure you’re not lying about your age?
  6. I know what you're thinking. "This guy has a Fluttershy avatar. He HAS to be an automatic vote for Fluttershy!" Um, not quite. Fluttershy is a very cute pony, especially when she squees. But my sense of cuteness is slightly unconventional. For me it was a tough choice between Twilight and Rainbow Dash. I love how Twi, who is such a well educated mare, morphs back into being a little filly from time to time. Especially when she hops around going Yes, Yes, Yes in Cutie Mark Chronicles and again when she finds out her brother is marrying Princess Cadance. On the other hand, Rainbow Dash is the epitome of Buttercup's cuteness. That is, she's cute because she tries so hard not to be cute. FYI, I voted for Rainbow Dash.
  7. Hmm, the only major Northwest US city/pony pun I can think of is Seaddle. Welcome aboard, sailor!
  8. That could be the case. This cartoon is full of allusions to other cartoons, movies, and literature. Because I'm an avid Powerpuff Girls fan, I can easily pick up on the Powerpuff references here. That cartoon also had a ton of allusions and parodies of other stuff.
  9. Banned for excessively sparkly eyes in his avatar.
  10. 46 buckets of oats on the wall, 46 buckets of oats! Take one down, pass it around, 45 buckets of oats on the wall!
  11. Is it OK to be attracted to an MLP Pony? That's asking an opinion and opinions vary from person to person. A better question to ask would be is it normal or commonplace? The answer to this is yes. Plenty of people have cartoon crushes and they don't have to have a humanoid form.
  12. SasQ, all I can say is, wow! There is some very fascinating stuff here. These points are well articulated and supported. And I want to commend the time and effort that you put into writing them. While symbolism has been present throughout the show since the start, it could have been just a moon here and a star there with no rhyme or reason. One thing I would like to comment one is the relationship between hexagrams, hexagons, and the building blocks of life. Hexagrams are associated with the occult and I'm a bit surprised MLP shows them so plainly. Remember that when 4Kids dubbed Yu-Gi-Oh, all hexagrams were edited so their original shape was no longer visible. On the other hand, hexagons are one of my favorite shapes because they compose our basic biology not to mention honeycombs.
  13. I agree that Buttercup and RD do sound somewhat alike but they're voiced by different people: EG Daily and Ashleigh Ball respectively. Daily also did Tommy's voice in Rugrats. Ironically, Season 1 Buttercup sounded a lot like Chuckie from Rugrats. Daily put a little too much “boy” in the tomboy's voice. From season 2 on Buttercup sounds much more feminine.
  14. Welcome to the Forums. I joined about 2 months ago and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. I had a bunch of nagging questions and I kept harassing the close friend who introduced me to MLP:FiM last year. She told me to join a forum and leave her alone, lol! Anyway, Wonderbolt Academy was one of my favorite season 3 episodes too. See ya around!
  15. Welcome to MLP forums! What does your user name mean? It looks...unique.
  16. My Little Pony - Friendship is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Hasbro, Inc.This is one of those videos that just make you go WTF? It has some funny moments. The creator splices the audio to make it sound like the ponies are cursing which sometimes works but most times sounds clumsy and even inaudible. If nobody likes it, I'll try to stick to higher quality videos in the future.
  17. I've noticed it too but I never took the time to analyze it in such depth. MLP:FiM simply has the same great theme that Digimon, Sonic, Yu-Gi-Oh, Powerpuff Girls, and countless other cartoons have: Friendship makes us greater as a whole than the sum of our parts. But I have to give it to you...this is the first detailed analysis I've seen to explain why that is so instead of just accepting it through blind faith.
  18. The only redeeming quality of the fatalities in Happy Tree Friends, if you can call it that, is that they are all accidents. Cupcakes is about deliberately torturing and killing someone.
  19. I see Twilight's element of DISharmony is open to interpretation. It looks like she's giving into despair. And of the six items listed, despair is the one I identify with most. So much in the world looks hopeless right now. Countries are plunging into debt and clearing up that debt will have serious consequences. A war between Israel and Iran appears to be imminent. Cynicism might be my second biggest EOD.
  20. I watched this on Youtube months ago. Does this kind of animated gore remind anybody else of Happy Tree Friends? I didn't care to see Rainbow Dash get sliced and diced. Disgust aside, the animation is well done but it's the song that really makes it work. Ready to Die is the most deceptively upbeat sounding morbid song I've heard since 99 Luftballons...except I that can understand the lyrics. I've read elsewhere that Andrew WK is a Brony and has appeared at an MLP convention. But does anybody know if he become a Brony because of this little production?
  21. Wasn't this question asked just a month ago? Anyway... Lauren was deliberately vague when asked about the Mane 6 ages. She would only give an age range like 14-18 or in that general neighborhood. One thing to bear in mind is that the society the ponies live in is like our own from 100 years ago. People needed fewer years of formal education to gain economically self-sufficient livelihoods. They do not have the same school system we do. Most people were married with children by 20. For my part, I don't try to assign an exact age to each character. But the show gives us a lot of clues about the Mane 6's ages relative to each other. When Fluttershy tells Pinkie Pie “I'm a year older than you,” it was a response to being told “Your auntie Pinkie Pie's got it all taken care of.” Off the cuff statements like that often fall into apocrypha. But because nothing has ever come up to contradict it, we can accept it as canon. Most of the information about the Mane 6 ages comes from Cutie Mark Chronicles. MA Larson deserves credit for giving this some thought and not randomly saying one is older or younger than another. Applejack and Rarity state that they received their cutie marks later than their peers making them older. They also possess more business savvy than a younger pony could. Fluttershy, for her part, appeared to be going through an adolescent growth spurt. At the other end of the spectrum, Rainbow Dash said she was the first in her class to get a cutie mark making her potentially the youngest although filly Twilight Sparkle looked very small and young too. In my headcanon, Big Mac was born two years before AJ and 10 years before Apple Bloom. For an age gap between oldest and youngest siblings 10 years is larger than average but still common. Until I noticed a filly that looks just like Cheerilee in Rarity's cutie mark flashback, I thought she was in her 30s. But unless someone who did the storyboard confirmed it is a Cheerilee cameo, I'm taking it with a grain of salt. Notice that filly Cheerilee shared the stage with Applejack and Pinkie Pie repaints. Nonetheless, I now believe she's very close to the Mane 6 in age.
  22. Negative reactions might be offset if you mix something like Transformers, Star Wars, or sports related stuff among your personal effects. I agree it's wrong and unfair, but MLP hasn't shaken its stigma yet. But being 19 works in your favor. Even though older coworkers may be taken by surprise, they know that TV shows evolve over time. They'll learn that for this generation, MLP's target audience is no longer strictly little girls. It will get better in the future.
  23. Take off my shoes so he can see my socks. He won't eat me if I'm wearing socks...I hope! Will Tom Brady win his fourth Super Bowl ring next month?
  24. For me, the best Rainbow Dash song is a tie between Don't Stop Me Now and Firework by Katy Perry. Don't Stop Me Now is the better song overall but Firework has a much more contemporary feel to it. MLP:FiM is from the 2010s, not the 1970s. Firework also has the word rainbow in its lyrics.
  25. Well, it is a lot of number crunching. I'm glad you like ponies enough to compile this. Just curious...how much longer will this be open for new people to add their own ratings? Nobody can do this forever.
