JUST GOT BACK FROM DEVIN TOWNSEND.

Forgive me, but I skipped Gojira's set because I don't give a fuck.

This band Atlas Moth opened for Devy, and they were pretty disappointing. Doom/sludge-ish, but the progressions were just boring, even for doom.

Now, this is actually a Hardstyle event, BUT.... they do sometimes play other genres OUTSIDE the electronic dance music scene... such as this awesome tune ! :DDD

(SKIP TO ABOUT 2:52:47 IF THE VIDEO DOESN'T START FROM THERE !!!!)

I know its late I was one of a few of my friends who knew he was in the accident on Halloween before he left us. But the interview with his wife was just published and put into revolver magazine in last months issue.

Well, while we're still on that topic. Has anyone seen this before? It's got a lot of views, but pretty much no one's ever spoken of it, which is kind of odd.

That was pretty heartwarming, I really like that video.

Also, what are some good Dream Theater songs?

It depends really on what you like

I personally like Octavarium

But that song is a 24 minute one

So if you don't like longer songs

Then don't bother listening to it

Other than that song:

As I Am

A Nightmare To Remember

Build Me Up, Break Me Down

Panic Attack

The Dark Eternal Night

Anything I said about the Point of No Return EP, disregard it. I like it now.

Also, what are some good Dream Theater songs?

Anything from Images and Words, Awake, Metropolis Pt.2. As for my recommendations, the majority of Six Degrees makes that album my favourite (Blind Faith, The Great Debate, etc.), but I feel Systematic Chaos holds a special place in my heart, considering it was my first DT album (I think).

So far, all their stuff I've heard of Train of Thought, I've loved.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pGxPP14UDaU

^I like the parts around 7:00 where it sounds kinda like Blackened :) and around 8:00 where LaBrie sounds almost like Dave Mustaine.^

I knew I couldn't be the only one who thought that part sounded like Blackened XD

Train of Thought is probably my favorite Dream Theater album I've heard so far, along with Octavarium.

Hey look, another one of Arjen Anthony Lucassen's side projects.   It's really good though.  Power/prog from the god of power/prog.

All the songs on this album are homages to Sci-Fi films that Lucassen is a fan of.  The first one is a homage to Doctor Who, and the other is a homage to Stargate.

Found this band today that I really like and this whole album is just great. Love the album artwork that they made for it too. Glad I found them

Man, you gotta love Wintersun. You might want to check out their self-titled album if you liked Time I. That's another good album, but it's a lot less symphonic. But yeah, Time I is really good. I love the entry at 8:46 on Sons of Winter and Stars. Awesome chorus.

Man, when I first listened to Time that was the first thing that really caught my attention.  That's one hell of a chorus.  :)

Also, I found this amazing doom band today.

They kinda remind me of another doom band that I enjoy.  Either way, great music.

I've seen the bottom vid before.  It bothers me that he sped it up a little, but otherwise one dope cover.  Animals As Leaders are an inspiration to us all.   :D

I've already seen that second video, but the first one was awesome

Animals As Leaders are an awesome band, and those were some good damn covers

And how about something of the opposite

A non-metal song getting a metal cover:

I think that Skrillex sounds awesome with guitars

Listened to Immortal and Gorgoroth today. That'll be my metal dose, now I'm going to listen to a band called "Mass of the Fermenting Dreggs".

SO ANYWAY.

Got some fun shows coming up I might see. Right now my list is:

Tyler, the Creator (hip-hop, 2swag4u)

Boris (drone, doom metal, lots of shit)

James Blake (dubstep, garage, 2step)

(as if you haven't heard of those people)

Alas, Boris is the only metal one. :(

So I heard two albums today that are going in my books as some of the best this year. "Elite," the newest from technical deathcore machine Within the Ruins, and Nails' new grindcore opus "Abandon All Life." The latter is my current album of the year. I mean just LISTEN to this.

Dear god was this record ever worth the wait. It's like they took "Unsilent Death" and added more sludge.

This one was pretty good too.

Ah, when did the Within The Ruins one come out? I was excited for it, but then sort of forgot about it.

And I'll be sure to check out Nails, I've only heard a few songs even though I liked them quite alot.

Pardon my recent inactivity, I've been pursuing other musical genres and Tribes Ascend.
