Which reminds me, have you guys listened to Destruction's latest album. It's got some pretty good stuff on it.

I did. I'll stick with Day of Reckoning, which is basically the exact same thing as Spiritual Genocide...

Nothing at all. I like Sodom.

It's just that they have a tendency to play music that sounds pretty similar and it's never anything stellar, but not bad at all either.

Thee worst part about them is that there are signs where they DO try to diverse themselves in albums (Masquerade in Blood for punkish stuff, Better Off Dead for NWOBHM stuff), it's not apparent enough. Which makes them seem really stagnant in the grand scheme of things...

And why the fuck didn't I ever see these b-sides in my library?

Forgot to say before, this is and probably will be my favorite avatar of yours.

That b-side is better than the original album sometimes. Devin knows what he's doing sometimes when he's on the ball.

And it will probably be my favourite avatar as well. PeachPalette really nailed the Skullet Pony idea.

I need so much more power metal. Because very often am I in a "power metal mood", though I don't exactly have much. For that reason, I end up listening to the same stuff a lot of the time. Recommendations?

Gonna leave some Electric Wizard here, Doom Metal is some good stuff, anyone know any other good Doom bands?

Cathedral, Isole, Swallow the Sun, Witch Mountain, Rose Kemp, Jex Thoth, Blood Ceremony, Reverend Bizarre, Orange Goblin, Pentagram, Saint Vitus.

Wait up, I'm pretty sure Sodom's debut album was black metal. Well maybe not black metal like we know it now, but you can still classify it as first wave of black metal.

And I'm going to post some Possessed because nopony else ever does.

Synester Gates is a much better guitarist than people give credit for, exhibited by his work in Pinkly Smooth.

Such a weird but fun album.

And for the heavy, Hypocrisy. Nice to see they made a comeback.

I never really did listen to Pinkly Smooth. I've heard a couple songs, but they sounded really strange to me, and I just wasn't really feeling it. I should probably give them another listen.

This thread was on the verge of extinction, again...

Guess I'm going to have to save it somehow. I'm going to post some Sodom because I like them.

Finally got around to finishing up Opeth's discography. Such a good band. I've never seen a band be able to blend heaviness and proggy-ness together like that.

My recommendations go to Three Inches of Blood and Holy Grail, as far as new stuff goes.

Don't think that would be a good classification, as they gave that up for the infinitely better Persecution Mania and Agent Orange.

I think Obsessed by Cruelty is better than both Persecution Mania and Agent Orange. I also think Release from Agony is better than Pleasure to Kill. Oh, I went there. ohmy.png I really like PTK, it's just that compared to other albums of the same era RFA is underrated AF.

After The Burial is re-releasing Forging a Future Self this fall. Not sure how I feel. Do we really need a re-issue?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DoD1AQ8kado

Not to mention WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU PROGRAM DRUMS ON THE RE-ISSUE IF THE MAIN COMPLAINT ABOUT THE ORIGINAL WAS PROGRAMMED DRUMS?

fuck that new vocalist. I don't wanna hear it.

BREACHHHHHHH

They some how remind me of ISIS with their guitars. Rare to find hardcore punk that chugs like this.

This thread needs some Carcass. After all, they did invent melodic death metal (and they predate In Flames so don't even try to argue with me.)

NO IN FLAMES DID WTF UR SO STOOPID LIEK CARCASS R GOREGRIND NAWT MELODEATH.

In all seriousness as much as I love In Flames, yeah Carcass do predate them

Anyways gonna leave an Opeth song before I leave for bed, so yeah enjoy it

Eeyup, hey have you ever heard of Brujeria? They're songs are in Spanish, but they're much than just a band that sings in Spanish. They're a supergroup. They sound like Napalm Death mixed with Fear Factory, because they are Napalm Death mixed with Fear Factory with lyrics that are in Spanish.

Funny that you'd mention Fear Factory, I've been thinking of giving them a try since they're Industrial Metal and Thrash Metal put together. I dislike Thrash, but I do like Industrial so which is why I'm not too sure about listening to them.

Oh, so I started listening to a bit of the album Sounds of a Playground Fading by In Flames, and so far I like what I hear. I only heard like the first two songs so far though.

I haven't listened to that one yet, I probably should though
