So after listening to "Sounds of a Playground Fading" a couple times, I think I can safely say that I don't like it quite as much as Come Clarity. It's not a bad album though.

Vildhjarta is Meshuggah worship to the max. Djenty riffs, little harmonic progressions, layered guitars, all that jazz.

That's what makes 'em so good.

I've been getting tired of pretending to be the opposite of myself down in the forum lounge so yeah I'll just leave an Opeth song and a Converge song here.

So me being the stupid idiot that I am, went out and bought even more CDs after I just told myself not to spend any more money on music -___-

I really need to stop, this is getting out of hand, and I have almost no money left :/

Get Spotify Premium.  Ten bucks a month and all the songs ever.  Everything that's not on there, rip from Youtube.

Anywho, check these dudes.  Pretty thick tone for pre-production.

Yay for more metalcore that I like.

Totally not because it's Bulb's side project.

Listened to Lionheart 'cause Crispy-senpai said so.

Shit's pretty cash, yo.

^ $10 is not alot to ask for considering you can get probably 85% of all music ever on there, and even on mobile if you have a smartphone. And when it's not on there you can always torrent it.

The problem is that I remember reading that Spotify like replaces your iTunes library with your Spotify library or something, and that would get rid of all the music I have right now. Plus Spotify doesn't have a lot of stuff available for some reason.

Not at all. I have all of my music I've purchased and imported on iTunes still on iTunes no problem. It's a completely separate program, however you can transfer all of your iTunes music to it for ease of having it all on one program. Even when transfered, it's still perfectly fine on iTunes.

Plus Spotify doesn't have a lot of stuff available for some reason.

It has quite alot, actually. I'm quite surprised at it's content actually, considering it has alot of unsigned artists on there. From what you like, the only things that I'd think would be missing would be Metallica (and that's because Lars didn't want people to not BUY their music, even though they still make money off of Spotify) and anything from Sumerian Records.

More Haunted Shores for lack of anything else at the moment.

Hmm...well maybe I'll look into it a little more and see if it's something I wanna sign up for or whatever. I guess it would be nice to have all that music to listen to.

Awesome black/ death metal outfit I discovered not too long ago on last.fm:

Also, went ahead and listened to Lionheart, by way of Crispy.  Solid tunes, man.  Lyrics are intense.

Not only that, but when you pay for it, it lets you import your local files to the Spotify app, and you can stream it from home without hitting your data cap.  It's a pretty sex deal, mang.

I pirate my music and buy a physical copy later when I feel like giving back to the bands.

Even that has lost it's appeal to me, after learning how little a signed band gets from record sales.

Last time I saw Acacia Strain, I gave them 40 bucks and told them "I pirated all your albums, but I know how little you make off them, so here's what I owe you."  They dug that.

Check that out, Misery Signals shows you just how little they get off albums near the middle.

It's actually despicable, especially considering that underground musician's album sales don't make much to begin with. I've said this before but it's a prime example. The Acacia Strain's OLD record label released a CD with alternate versions and rerecordings of songs they never released with them a long-ass time after they split, without even consulting or informing the band. You can probably guess how much money the artists are making.

Hardcore dicks about it, too, naming the album "Money for Nothing".  That's a shit move.

7 Angels 7 Plagues, at their reunion show, told people they'd rather have them torrent the album than buy from Uprising Records because of how fucked they got by them.

I have discovered it, and boy is it glorious.

I like underground bandcamp bands who just give you a mediafire link on their page if you don't feel like buying the album. Dat's cool.

Sometimes ATDI is like nu metal, but way cooler. That endingggggggggg

I will fight you irl.  After Castahead and Intercede, 7A7P were pioneers of melodic hardcore, culminating in Misery Signals and creating an actual genre of it in the Midwest.  Fuck.

Jesus, ATDI.  That takes me back.  Relationship of Command was the only CD I bought from them back in the day, and pretty much has all the songs I enjoy.  Didn't they do a reunion stint recently?  Would've been sweet to have gone to that shit.
