Both are 90's, but regardless - High Speed Dirt yes, but until I can find an original recording of Hangar 18, I'm not going anywhere near RIP with this playlist.

You could probably use anything from the Brutal Legend OST since a lot of the game took place in the Deuce (the car) and some of the songs seemed to be made with the car in mind.

 

Oh, here's a good one. Not 80's but the pace of it could be perfect for racing.

I haven't heard much by this band but this song is amazing. Love a band that can utilize a good guitar whine.

 

There's a couple of bands that sound ridiculously close to Blind Guardian in terms of vocal styles. One being Savage Circus which was formed by BG's drummer in 2005 after he left the band.

Then there's Persauder, which the vocalist from Persuader also did the vocals for Savage Circus. They sound a little bit too much alike.

My personal favourite album by Sodom has got to be Agent Orange. It was the second Sodom album that I listened to,

Persecution Mania being the first, and it has still remained the best for me.

@@Crispy, Look into Masquerade in Blood. It's got a punkish vibe that I think you'll love, despite it being a very underrated album by some metal heads.

since it's the weekend and there's no school, i actually have time, i'l post some Therion, not sure if you heard of them, i think they're rather awesome. (it's alittle long, but the song changes alot, shows how Therion is. Part 2 starts approx. at 3:27)

I always find myself imagining a pony dancing with Pinkie Pie to the bridge/solo of this song...

 

since it's the weekend, and i actually have time, i'l post some Therion, not sure if you heard of them, i think they're rather awesome. (it's alittle long, but the song changes alot, shows how Therion is. Part 2 starts approx. at 3:27)

 

Part 1 is pretty dark for Symphonic Metal, but Part 2 adds more epic to it's evil-like mojo. Very heavy coming from these guys. Nice.

If you want something rather dark, check out their album Symphony Masses: Ho Drakon Ho Megas. Other than that, their albums Sirius B/Lumeria are rather good. Their Theli album is excellent.
