For the last 8 years I've been delving into more and more odd music. Whenever I bring up Insomnium or Mors Principium Est, everyone has no idea what I'm talking about. Insomnium's debut album is still their best album. Black Waters and Through the Shadows are some of their better songs and heavier than In the Halls of Awaiting. MPE really needs to release remastered albums, but I doubt that will happen anytime soon. Melodic death metal at it's best, in my opinion anyways.

Yeah, that song would be much better with some remastered sound. It's very compressed sounding in that video, but the talent is definitely there.

 

 

I tend to go more metalcore for my melodic fixes.

I've never really searched out Metalcore on my own, but there are a few bands I still listen to. Chimaira, Silent Civilian, and Killswitch among them. I guess I just haven't looked hard enough to find new metalcore.

I think I'm starting to like these guys quite a bit. I enjoyed "Captive" more than "Waves" but I enjoyed the instrumental part.

I tried finding some! I mean, I really wanted a "The New Black" wallpaper, but Google had no results. ;_;

I will keep an eye out for some on /wg/, though. That is where I found that Devy one and a Behold the Arctopus one. But still, even on /wg/ it's hard to find them.

Also, Autopsy is VERY inferior to Death. There is a huge difference between the sound of both bands.

New to me. Thoughts? His voice is different, but not in a grating way. The "singing" is a bit understated though, and the guitars a bit fuzzy. Kinda sounds like the sound guy had an idea that didn't quite pan out the way he wanted.
