I decided not to go see Gojira, seeing as how I haven't even listened to them in the past 6 years or so. Korpiklaani is most definitely a yes on September 18th though, can't wait for that.

YOU'RE CRAZY.

Probably, it was only $15 too. I don't really believe in going to see a band live unless I'm a pretty big fan of them. That limits it down to about 30 bands for me.

.... $15?! Holy shit, I would so be there. Eh, whatever suits you, I guess.

I know you guys would never expect to post this, but be shocked.

FAAAAAAKKKKKKKKKKKKK. My guitar teacher recommended me a technical death metal band, but I forget the name ;-; I think it had like, structure or something in the name. Does this ring a bell for anyone? ;_;

You cannot deny the raw power that is hardcore.

Anywho, morning, guys.

Dude, for $15 bucks? That's so worth it. Now you'll never know if there was some gem of a band you hadn't heard yet!

Could be just straight up Structures. I've heard of them, they're good. Give Youtube a look quick and you should find them.

Wow, that's good. I don't even know if that's the band he was talking about, but I'm definitely going to look into these guys. :D

Also, why does everyone say djent is just a bunch of open string and first fret on the lowest string? It's much more than that.

Song not related.

More Scar Symmetry from Resulli/Raronoopa/Discordian

This song has a very masterful presentation between the vocals and guitar. This song is definitely one of the best Scar Symmetry has to offer.

Funny you should bring that particular song up, I was listening to it earlier today actually!

Also, can anyone explain riffs to me? I know how to recognize them most of the time but what exactly are they? I know, this is a seriously noobish question to ask.

Fans of Devin Townsend are best friends no matter what! That statement of yours is false!

DEVY FANS UNITE!

This is probably one of the weirdest songs I've ever heard, but it has such an amazing musical tone to it I can't help but enjoy it. Need to check out more Devil Townsend. lol

Well, I consider a riff to be a more memorable guitar part. There's a lot of them in songs, and they're often easily recognizable.. Like, if you were trying to describe Master of Puppets to someone, you'd do the old:

http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJIGC90liAE&feature=player_detailpage#t=19s

(the riff at 20 seconds.)

Of course, there's other riffs in that song, but that's one of the more "popular" ones. Other famous riffs include the Smoke on the Water riff, Crazy Train... Sweet Child O' Mine...

Though some people just say a riff is a guitar part that repeats itself a bit, like the verse, chorus, and bridge.

I had always personally considered Riffs a mini-solo between verses or the repeatable part that plays during a verse.

This is a really fun song to listen to. Well, more so than usual for a Korpiklaani song.

Fuck yeah.

Unrelated note, my signature is winning.

Every Korpiklaani song I've ever heard just makes me wanna get up and dance a jig.

I know this has been posted at least once or twice before in this thread but it needs to be brought up again. Another one from my Brutal Legend favorite tracks:

The guitar in this song makes me headbang harder than I ever do in even my favorite bands. Such an amazing solo.

That's because they're Finnish, its as if they're brimming with fun!

Their choruses are fantastic.

Korpiklaani is amazing at creating songs that will keep you bobbing your head after the song is finished with. I never tried Tequila, but I'm pretty sure it's nothing compared to Vodka.

Watch out, Devy can be an addictive artist. I used to make fun of Strapping Young Lad when NNL would mention them, and now I'm seeing Devin in September ;_;

Also, best Devin solo album album is Ziltoid the Omniscient.

Come at me, everyone else.

Korpiklaani is party music that people ignore and are stupid to realize this.

Is that a pun or something? I can't tell.

You posted Tequila, so I posted Vodka. So it was really more of a mesh between the two songs than anything else. If your head doesn't bob to this, you're not human.

EAT SHIT!

Ziltoid the Omniscient has the perfect blend of Heavy stuff (By Your Command, Planet Smasher...) and soft stuff (The Greys, Hyperdrive, Solar Winds...) that isn't really found on other Devy albums, which usually stick to a specific style.
