Eh, it's a little slow. Guitar tone is really fun, though. The singer's voice sounds kind of like that guy from Volumes.

Hey hey hey. They have an amazing taste in Doom metal, black metal, and grindcore, thank you very much. And powerviolence. I haven't quite explored much of the genre, but Infest are pretty good.

Mike Portnoy is a monster on the drums.

 

As much as you guys and the whole metal community praised it, I never actually gave Parallax 2 a listen through. I loved Colors and thought Parallax was nifty, so why the fuck didn't I listen to this sooner?

As I look back on Epicloud, I am extremely disappointed with the lyrics.

 

Yes, as you look at a poor example of the lyrics in Epicloud. Admittedly, they're average at best, with good ones like Grace, Hold On and Angel... but True North and Liberation are just meh... and don't get me started on Lucky Animals. All in all, this wasn't an album really to look at lyrics though...

Yeah, that's actually been a trend with Devin's stuff. I do enjoy when he does his satire, though. Did I say that he's coming back to the outskirts of Jersey, with Gojira this time. Haven't explored Gojira's work, so it'll be an interesting show.

Anywho, metal. Have I ever displayed my enjotment or Aegeaon?  First heavy metal band I ever got into, and still am to this day. I almost forgot about 'em, until I saw they were putting up one of their best songs for free download on last.fm.

/mu/ HAS GOOD TASTE. Look at this amazing taste in grindcore. :^) There's also a general metal chart, but I think you've already heard all the thrsh it has to offer.

Trust me when I say I'm not even close. There are others I know who aren't even close themselves. Although if I found the right chart, then their selection for thrash isn't too bad at all, a bit general if anything (the one you got up has Crossover Thrash, which as of recent I'm not too big on...)

I have recently been listening so damn much to Moonsorrow and I happened to discover that some of their songs are so freaking long. Those are two of my favorite off that album, too. I don't think it's as good as Rust in Peace, but then again nothing by Megadeth is better than Rust.

I don't think it's as good as Rust in Peace, but then again nothing by Megadeth is better than Rust.

 

I would definitely agree with that. Out of the three Megadeth albums I have, Rust In Peace is by far the best one. Nothing beats songs like "Hangar 18" and "Holy Wars".

For some reason, when I got it over the summer I just could not for the life of me get into Koloss. I listened to every song a few times and I just did not like it.

 

Flash-forward half a year, and now I'm loving it. It's reminiscent of their older work, but different, which I like. It's definitely their best effort since Catch 33, to say the least. It's a slower, more head-bopping kind of album.
