I bought Dream Theater's Systematic Chaos album today. It's a pretty good album. The riff in the song "The Dark Eternal Night" is really awesome.

I'm sure some of you have heard, but word is is that Meshuggah may be releasing a free ep next week, called Pitch Black.  

 

Something to look forward too, for sure, even if it  does end up with a price tag.

Man, I love that band. Even when people criticized The Burning Red and Supercharger for delving into the dark magics of alternative and nu-metal, respectively, I even like those albums. Yes, even Supercharger. I think this is what liking a band is, as opposed to just admiring it. You know, how something's obviously not done "right", but you enjoy listening to it anyway.

 

And yeah, I Am Hell (Sonata in C#) is probably my favourite from that album too. Loved The Blackening and Through the Ashes of Empires. The latter used to be my favourite MH album, before Unto the Locust came out. And of course, their two latest albums have some really impressive guitar work!

I love deathcore, melodicsism, orchestration, djent, hyper low tuning (I've got a Schecter C7 Hellraiser tuned down to drop F atm, but I want an eight string to tune down to drop E without muddying my tone). Bands near and dear to my heart: Periphery, Meshuggah, Vildhjarta, Substructure, In Flames, Sybreed, Maybe That's Why Humans Drink The Darkness That Is Coffee, The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza, Glass Cloud, Textures, Rings of Saturn, Animals as Leaders, The Contortionist, The HAARP Machine, Pathogenic, RXYZYXR, and A.I.(d).

What I have on my ipod in the metal department at the moment would be Five Finger Death Punch, Machine Head, Megadeth, Metallica, Pychostick, Soil, System of a Down just to name a few.
Also a band i follow quite closely would be Amon Amarth, i have to say if you have ever heard them live you would know what i mean, they pretty much put on one of the best shows that i have ever been to, their sound is just amazing! xD

So I finally decided to give Februus by Uneven Structure many a listen-though, and I am impressed. It's refreshingly one of the best albums I've heard in a while, and it has that nice djenty feel that I (and everyone else) absolutely adore.

 

Whole album here, but this is the kind of band that I'd actually support by buying at least some of their songs.

I wouldn't call this metal to be honest but more of a "post-rock" (apparently O_o!?)...they do really sometimes have a heavy sound, I really doubt that many people would know of them since they are from my local area and only recently have been touring but i have to say, they are pretty damnn good!
Always a good break to listen to instrumentals especially when they don't have anything but instrumentals

Great song for when I feel an angry montage coming on.

Oh man, you're my new best friend. My phone can't see the link, but when you said they recently went full-studio, I knew exactly who you meant. Monolith is my most favorite EP I have ever heard. Substructure has inspired a lot in me, and I'm working on covering Monoceros and Cepheus. I absolutely am in love with their new materials (Tristis being a favorite of the two pre-productions released). Their full-length is going to have an unprecedented level of heavy.

I started listening to Dream Theater about a few months ago, and As I Am is definitely in my top 5. I also love Panic Attack, Honor Thy Father, Octavarium, The Root of All Evil, and The Dark Eternal Night.
