I just love their voices xD I can't help it. Luffy has the most annoying one (which is bad seeing as he's the main character) But I freaking love Sanji, Zoro, Franky, and Robin's. Usopp cracks me up too. Brook's and Chopper's are meh. Idk, I feel silly xD Luffy does sound awesome when he wants to though. The voice fits him, but that doesn't make it pleasing to the ears xD

Way too many. Even animes I know were good were ruined by  bad subs and dubs xD I'm trying to think of an example right now, but I think I'm failing to find a good one. Pokemon? Doesn't sound good in pretty much any language.

its surprising cause i heard the pokemon manga was actually better than the anime it follows red rather than ash and the story is just overall interesting in comparison with real life problems

Yeah. The Manga is seriously amazingly awesome xD Basically what I would make if I would write a pokemon fic. Especially the original series. With Clefairy and such :3

Subbed, mostly. Reason 1: the dubs can be weird sometimes.

Reason 2: I can pick up on what a few words mean & I like reading

 

There's only been one anime that I came across that sounds better dubbed which is Black Lagoon.

Even worse than the Anime distribution sections of companies like Bandai going belly up, meaning for a large number of Anime we have to get boot leg copies to even watch them? We are only now getting a re-release of Cowboy Bebop after all.

I'll usually watch subbed because then I have to focus on the plot of the show because I don't understand the language and I have to read the subtitles. If I watch something dubbed, I'll tend to start multitasking or I'll get distracted and start doing something else.

 

I have nothing against dubbed shows, and I'll still watch them with friends, but it usually doesn't work out when I'm by myself.

 

Edit: Plus, I would feel very limited in what anime I could watch if I only watched things that were dubbed.

Subtitled voices more closely match the intent of the show or movie being watched. I don't favor dubbed voices.

I prefer subs, but I plan to finish Naruto and One Piece with the dub. Mostly 'cause that is what I started with.

 

I agree with, "it depends on the company" line as I have watched Stein's Gate sub and dub. Finding the dub to be pretty good. Although being a Funimation dub it isn't that unlikely. I find that unless the dubbing done really well, I will prefer subs to dubs.

Know offense to Japan or their language, but it is hard for me to listen to it and really feel the emotion in their voice. It may be very overt for some, but for me I cannot tell much of a difference in the tone, it really feels lacking emotion to me(IK that is untrue, but just how I perceive it).

It depends on the anime,  i will try some anime dubbed

but mostly i hit the older school dubbed like DBZ/YYH and etc

and mostly stick to subs!
