Thread OP Bold Word Code Breakdown, etc.

Hey guys.  So I'm not much of a coder here or anything, so I thought I might be able to turn to tech support for some help.  Recently I was editing the OP in my thread "The MLP Forums Authors Helping Authors" group, just adding some stories to the library, when I had difficulty saving it.  Well, I finally managed to save the edits, but when I did so, all the bolded words in the OP broke down and, from what I can tell, show the code for bolding them instead.  It's hard for me to exactly describe what's wrong with it, but it's quite apparent when you see the OP for yourself.  I was just wondering if anyone in tech support could possibly correct this, because with how big the OP alone is at this point, I think it'd be near impossible to do so manually, unless I wanted to drive myself insane of course?  If anyone can help, I'd very much appreciate it!

Ok, I've seen this before which I why I jumped in to help Batbrony. I was able to 'reconstitute' the post and links with relative ease back to bbcode, but in my test threads I was able to duplicate the issue during an edit session it would render incorrectly.

Not sure if the WYSIWYG editor in IPB just has problems with large posts, or if there is a bug in the parser/bbcode PHP file (truth is I'm not fully sure myself).

Either way, since this hasn't been an issue with any other post that I'm aware of, it may not be a big deal. But minus some minor edits from him, our resident Maned Crusader should be good to go.

Hey there, Batbrony. Have you, or anyone else you are aware of, experienced this issue at all since you posted this?

I just noticed this same issue on one of my posts.  When I go to edit this post and hit preview, there's a breakdown in the code like this.

Screenshot attached.

The same thing happened to me when I tried to edit your post, so I doubt it's an issue on your end.

To answer your question, no I have not experienced this issue since SCS, though I also have no posts that come close to the sheer size that that one did, so I have no idea if it would happen again with any other post that size.  In the end we just decided to scrap that original OP altogether since it was too much trouble trying to restore.  Many thanks again to Jeric for all of his  help and assistance; he did far more than he had to.  :)

It seems your issue was resolved, and has not occurred since, so I'll go ahead and close this question out. Should you find that your question was not fully answered at a later point, or should the issue arise again, please make a new topic. Thank you.
