Also, Twilight's the Element Of Magic, so she likely just flew generically fast and cast a Trixie-style firework spell to do her version of the Rainboom. Twilight was able to do a twiboom because she had more power/magic than any pony in existence while doing it OR as others said she had accidentally cast a spell mid-flight. And no, Celestia and Twilight can't do a Sonic Rainboom because that would be so OC-ish that it would put them into Mary Sue territory, let rainbow have her special thing. We have no evidence that Celestia or Twilight can go even close to as fast as it takes to create a sonic rainboom. This discussion does remind me that the princesses are more unicorn-ish than pegasi or earth pony (even Cadance, who was originally a Pegasus), which would make me curious to see a more Pegasus oriented Alicorn. Princess Celestia rarely uses her wings and I doubt she's in great shape for flying so quickly. I wouldn't consider it a true Sonic Rainboom if she used her alicorn magic.
