Am I the only one who hates Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon?

Looks like lots of people love them, but IMO they went very much lower than any bully could go:

 

- They "hijacked" (OK, it was Babs' decision, but still) Applebloom's cousin and she destroyed CMC's float in their names

- DT ruined CMC's social life pushing them to continue as Gabby Gumms losing all their friends and she didn't care

- They disrespected Granny Smith and treated her like a piece of old junk

- They bullied Scootaloo for being handicapped and caused her the worst of her depressions

- They almost ruined CMC's most important moment at Equestria Games by lowering self-steem

 

Am I forgetting something?

Nope, I don't like them either and a lot of people agree. Diamond Tiara especially, she's just a stereotypical rich girl bully. The only thing I like about her is that she has a surprisingly good singing voice.

I hate them, because they're just so unlikable in my opinion. Like I understand why some people would like them (I guess), but to me they are just a pair or spoiled, ignorant attention seekers.

 

Maybe it's because they remind me of so many people I know...

Personally, I love Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon. In fact, I feel significantly worse for Silver Spoon than I do for Babs. Silver is pretty much every kid that ever tried to fit in with the popular crowd; in fact, I'm guessing she had a very similar experience to what Babs did and ended up sticking with Diamond Tiara, hence her reliance on her.

I don't think their personal histories have been expounded upon greatly enough for people to have any real understanding of them, but I don't think either of them had a particularly happy childhood, and have written several theories about them as well as an upcoming fanfiction.

I hope that in the future we see more of them.

I don't think it's fair to say you hate them and that you like Babs considering Babs was equally bad. The only reason Babs changed was because the CMC totally rekd her, LOL.

Even if Granny is my favourite pone next to Mayor Mare, there was (again, in my mind) a reason they weren't nice to her, that leading (again) back to jealousy of strong familial times that Diamond and Silver clearly lack with their own based on their interactions with any family of theirs we've seen.

 

Don't hate a character until you try to at least fully understand any situation that may occur, even if it isn't canon.

I don't like them, but at the same time, I feel very, very sad for them.

 

How low is there self esteem that they have to bully the CMC just so they can feel good about themselves.  They aren't even all that bright, since, as Silver Spoon said in Flight to the Finish "We already called them Blank Flanks, what else can we do?", and then the need to make Scootaloo feel bad about not being able to fly yet was just despicable.

 

I can't wait for The CMC to get their Cutie Marks, and then DT and SS won't have anyone to tease to make themselves feel better about being such awful little fillies.

No you're not alone. A lot of people find them despicable. Is it justifiable? Yes. Despite what I believe, their actions are still inexcusable. However, the one question I can't ever seem to shake is:
Why is Diamond Tiara always alone?
And then I start to piece together her world, and I find I can't hate her. I find myself feeling sorry for her, of all things. Her life might be darker than any of the CMC.

Actually Diamond Tiara is one of the most hated ponies in this fandom, Silver Spoon as well but not nearly to the extent of Diamond Tiara. There is plenty of fannon that claims that Silver Spoon is sort of going along with Diamond Tiara and there are plenty of fanfics with redemption stories for Silver Spoon. It is a bit puzzling to me because even if she is going along with it, what she is doing is still wrong. I personally don't hate either of them though, they are bullies but that is their role as characters.

a better question is: Who doesn't hate those rich bitches? Yeah, they were made to make them as unlikable as possible. BUT, I believe hating them to the point of wishing death on them is too much

Not at all. The Disasterly Duo is among the most despised characters of the entire show because their roles are confined to just bullying other ponies.
