Minor update for you all: Sorry for being kinda slow with it the last 30 hours or so, but had a ton to look into. New Magic cards to prepare for Monday, Blizzcon streams and a few other things dragging in me are taking it's toll on my RP time. But I should be able to get something out in the next hour or so. Might be one more than that, but I will not leave you hanging for much longer. You have my word.

Sorry being inactive here. I have just read some of the post and am going to post soon. Syo can't do anything about dark barrier, she can see but she has no power over it. Since it is anti magic, she could not teleport out.

A minor OOC thing to the post I made for you: You can decide whatever or not happens when Omen delivers the mail to Luna. It doesn't have to be alongside what goes on now though. It can happen as in something happens when she returns. This is mostly i n case you wanted Luna to bring a message back, or come back via Omen's gate no matter what Serenade might chose. Or something else. ^^ I can roll with the punches.

You can just post it here. I will continue to control Luna if you want, but if you want to control her instead, that's fine too.

Also, I believe hiding a siren would be high priority due to the panic she could cause.

I may need a bit more information to understand the nature of interactions between Luna and Serenade if you've had them interact with each other in the past. If you haven't come up with any specifics about the way they interact with each other, I think I have a good idea about how Luna would feel about Serenade, so don't worry too much about it. If you've used Serenade in a story or roleplay before, a link to those might help too.

@@Seamore Sandwich, the only thing I've come up with is Luna knows(mainly cause Serenade is a Siren in her dreams), and it was Luna who asked Serenade to limit her exposure to other ponies since Siren's have a very bad reputation in Equestria. Serenade considers herself a loyal Citizen of Equestria, and her Pegasi persona works for the Royal Astronomical Department.

No, I haven't, this was actually the first time Serenade is been used so I'm still tweaking her.

Okay, I think I know how I want to write her then. Because Serenade has an interest in the stars, I believe that logically Luna would consider her a valued friend, even if Serenade doesn't know it. Luna isn't good at keeping in touch with those she considers friends (Celestia sends all of the messages, and we don't see much of Luna).

 

If this concept is not to your liking, please let me know and adjustments will be made. I really want to do my best to keep Luna as close to the show's cannon as possible.

@@Seamore Sandwich, Serenade`s interest in the stars comes partly from her Siren nature(mythologically speaking, Sirens cause shipwrecks = Ships navigate by the stars) and partly because she`s fascinated by them.

 

Serenade`s letters are far and few between, and most of her correspondence with Luna comes in the form of her "Astrological and Navigation reports". But all of them are ended with "Your Faithful Subject".

She doesn't mind that fact that Luna rarely sends letters back, "She is the Princess of the Night after all."

Well, Luna did try to bring about eternal darkness because she felt that her beautiful night sky wasn't appreciated enough. The way I see it, anyone who shows this much interest in her night sky should be important to her in some way.

 

I need to know, are you accepting my idea or did you want me to change something? I will of course factor in these additional details.

I would like to begin Luna's part with Omen delivering the message to her at the castle in Canterlot, as soon as Moonlit and I are in agreement about Luna. I'm wondering, will Luna recognize Omen, or at the very least, her species?

It would be somewhat odd if she recognised the species. Omen's kind are given form by whatever magical being makes a deal with them to serve. Her kind isn't violent, and you can't use them for combat, but they are skilled at going places fast, and are good messengers as they are very hard to destroy. They generally serve for the chance of being a solid form being, as well as experiences to sate their curious minds.

 

There's more to them than this, for example that they can't leave their own realm without being given a solid form, but I will have that mentioned when I eventually have the time to make her a bios. For the time being, and to return to your first question, I doubt that Luna knows much, if anything, about Omen's race as it's rare for beings to go to their plane, and even more so to exit again. And since they don't sleep, she haven't seen them in any dreams.

 

That being said, she might remember Omen in particular. I tried to be vague about it and hide it for a while, but the gist of things were that she used to act like a messenger for Discord before he was turned into stone. A random fit of thinking it suited a king to have that combined with finding them and getting curious sounds like a reason for him to have one. She wasn't used That often, and can't remember Luna by name as it was really mostly Celestia she gave messages too, but she might remember when she see's her and vice versa.

 

She haven't been around much since he was turned to stone, and only re-emerged from her realm recently. I'll put more info into the bios when it is. Perhaps I can find the time to make it today. After tweaking Vivid's a bit to make it less of a rush job.

I write to you in haste for two major developments has occurred. The first is that two ponies have discovered my true nature, Ziggy a Pegasi and Omen..a...the messenger of this missive. I know you advised me to keep my true nature hidden from other ponies, but circumstances prevented this. The second, and much more concerning is my Gem seems to be no longer functioning. As such I am trapped in my true form, since I have never spent long in this form and concerned for what may happen, I am seeking out a Unicorn that might be able to help. If you know of any in Ponyville or any advice you may have would be extremely helpful.
