Nah, we have a pretty fluid system going here with the story. Heck, you don't even need to be part of the main one if you want. We have all sorts of side things, and the option to make a new one fitting for your needs. ^^ I could make up all sorts of technical reasons for this, but to be honest, I was just too lazy to think of a plot, so I went with the people steering things and then support that.

Just thought I'd give everyone an update here as to why I've been so inactive.  Last week was really busy what with preparing for a midterm and starting a new lab, but this weekend was just as bad as I caught a cold AND had to write a lab report.  I'm still sick atm, but as soon as this passes, I should be up for putting out replies again.

It's not a test really, it's just that, to make the RP fun for everyone to read and write in, I have to watch out for Mary Sue characters, or ones putting themselves as flawless gods. Trust me, it makes the RP wonky to have that sort around. :/

 

Thankfully, reading over your bios, it seems like there's not a problem there. Phoenixes aren't flawless or gods after all. ^^ So welcome to the thread mate.

I thought maybe my most recent post might create an opportunity for some characters to be brought out of their time period. I do have a plan to "clean up the extras," so don't worry about this having a major impact on the whole of the roleplay. If anything, it may simply open up a whole new area for our characters to explore.

Oh that's who they were? Only skimmed it since I didn't know it involved me directly. I thought they were just a bunch of monks who were summoned to help.

 

It's a bit of a faux pas to read other peoples ongoings in RPs, cause that gives you, and by extension your character, knowledge of what's going on that they shouldn't have. Wrecks the authenticity. 

 

So if Priestess & Allure weren't directly referenced, I probably didn't read it. Also I missed out on the meeting at Twi's place.

The meeting took place the day after the battle, chronologically, and I added a few hints as to what was to come. The princesses were there and they were arranging the teams for repairing the damages in Ponyville. "The Returned" were only mentioned once, and it was quickly brushed aside as a topic for a different meeting.

I didn't really have the option to do much in the way of reacting to that unfortunately, mate. :/ I already had it written from previous RP that Last had to get emergency help, so she had to be taken out of comission,

 

Vivid is dead, and with the RP I have going with one of our new friends here, I figured that it was better to put a timer on how long it'd take for her to come back so that they had some time.

 

Zhu have plans for another time that requires a few things handled, such as Vivid and Briar, and he have been around the whole thing from the start, so it wouldn't make sense to me if he were utterly surprised over things now.

 

Leaves me with Null and Void, who I did try to have interact with the others, but didn't seem to get far.

 

Unlesd you mean like, Actual ponies from olden times, and not the ones already there and the few that had recently been *eaten* in which case I honestly didn't notice. Remember someone took some of the bones, but nothing beyond that. :/

 

I'll have a reread after work tomorrow, and likely edit something in to whatever is going on more. Likely NPC's, but should be easy to get fixed.

It was a separate roleplay. It was mostly meant as a way to give one of the other characters something to do.

dang. suppose my character is stuck for now? or should i end the conversation we were having and run off to find someone else?

 there's so much going on and so much to keep track of, haha. seems like so much has already happened. i just wanna ask everyone, is there some sort of story arch going on right now? if so, is it nearing a climax, and then will something else happen? i'm very interested in getting invested in the long term story of this roleplay, and i'm almost upset that i came in so recently and have no idea what happened previously, because it seems like it was all very interesting

 

also, since blitz is gonna be gone for the weekend, would it be alright if i jumped in somewhere else?

These sorts of delays are common, actually. Forum roleplays are a bit more long term than other types of roleplays. My way of dealing with these gaps was to add more characters to other parts of the roleplay, that way I would always have something to respond to. For now, the best course of action would be to wait for Blitz's post. I can try to sum up some of the major events later, or perhaps tomorrow, but I've run out of time for my lunch break, so it will have to wait. I can also help you come up with ideas for another character to add to the roleplay later if you'd like.

that would be pretty nice. i have another character design and refference actually, but i havn't really ever used the character. i'm not really good at using multiple characters and i feel like they'd both just have the same personality, haha.
