To be frank, the mare didn’t appear to care much about what Rosa had to say about their dealings at the moment, but she was more receptive to him instead of Sen. She shrugged it off once the two left and returned to trying to get a sale out of her last bits of food on display. A shame the two didn’t get to buy those puff pastries, but Sen walked away with Rosa feeling a little less hungry now that they’ve moved on. The next moments were rather quiet, with the longma in contemplation about the earlier confrontation.

On 2022-04-13 at 6:54 AM, Blitz Boom said:

"If you would be so kind as to help me dry these, we can continue. Use this cloth, if you'd like."

He'd hoof over a piece of torn fabric. Half of what were left of his old face mask, that he figured he'd keep around, just in case. Never knew when you might need a bit of cloth, and with a new belt on, he had stuck it in one of the compartments.  The other half he had dropped, so he'd just dry them on the other half of this offered cloth. Shouldn't take long.

“I suppose doing this is worth the time,” Sen watched as Rosa dropped and fished out the bits they had before taking the cloth offered to him to dry their money. “Sometimes, I forget there was a time being talked down like that by others was normal. Whether it was for dirty bits or looking like an out-of-place vagrant, I had to get used to that sooner or later. Don’t worry about me, Rosa. I could handle it. It reminded me that there are nasty folks out there, but there are just as many nice ones like you and Amethyst.”

Sen may still look somewhat dejected as his sight was fixed on the bits, but his voice was filled with a reassuring calmness. The words of that mare may have gotten to him, but he’d rather put more stock into what his friends and family have to say over a rude stranger. It wouldn’t be long before he was finished drying the bits, and upon looking up, there was another stall a short walk away. This one appeared to have some odd food on display, like a round, black bread-like object with some smaller pieces of food scattered on top. It wasn’t the only thing that’ll be up, as the vendor, an earth pony, was setting more items on the table before him. A rather odd time for someone that isn’t a bat pony to prepare for business hours, but this one’s probably a night owl.

“Hey, Rosa. That vendor over there’s got some interesting stuff on display. Maybe we could get something good from him.”

On Lin’s and Omen’s end, things seemed to be faring better with more interesting options for them to choose. The moongrown food was something new and unfamiliar without being too overwhelming Northlight grapes were probably the closest thing to being nice and easy to consume, and the varied tastes were a nice addition on top of that. Seemed like that one was a definite must-try for the longma. As for the plums, those could be a nice gift to Uddo and his family, as it was doubtful they could eat it all in one night. That or the potatoes, but this vendor’s got a lot of delicious-looking options.

As for the core beans, they’d probably be something Omen would like, though the preparation would have to be exact based on the vendor’s instructions. The moon’s out tonight, but there’s a window when they’d be good before becoming otherwise. Not that it would turn Lin away from getting Omen something she might like, but they’d have to be conscious of time. Well, that and the hole it’ll burn in their purse if she opted to purchase enough for dinner.

"Do you have more spicy?"

"Yeah, I have a few things. What uh... What sort of thing are you looking for, ma'am?"

He were a little taken off guard by her wording, but... Customers were customers, right? And this were Canterlot. He were sure this were quasi-normal for this place. Somehow.

"I eat fire."

"That uh... Well, I guess maybe..."

“That’s an impressive selection you have there, but that might just me being unfamiliar with moongrown food. I’d definitely like to try some now that you’ve explained them. Before we proceed, I’d like to ask you something out of curiosity. When you said the core beans self ignite, do the beans just catch fire all of a sudden or do they slowly glow before bursting into flame? What my friend meant with eating fire… well, she could eat it, literally speaking. Sorry if that came off as a little too strange, but I think those beans might be something she’d like.”

It was a… direct way to get things across, but Lin would try to work things through with the vendor to avoid coming off weirder than they already were. Evidently, it might not even be helping, but the longma will try to smooth things over and possibly come to purchase something from the bat pony. There was a lot to consider with what she’d buy, but the selections she has at the moment were pretty good, all things considered.

"There will always be those, who consider themselves above others. Even if they have precious little reason to do so. The best one can do is simply to walk away, and let them carry on their miserable existence. Or teach them a lesson, but it is beneath me to do so, for one simply delusional like that. I tend to savor such life lessons, for those who deserve a more substantial wake up call.

Try and put it behind you though, my friend. The feeling that must come from her addressing you as she did, will only serve to ruin your day. Don't let her get that satisfaction.

Just focus on the positives, as you mention. Plenty of better beings out there, who will show you some degree of respect, and kindness. Several of them likely being vendors at this market. I'm sure we can find a less high strung one, with little issue."

Rosa would look up from the pile of thus far clean bits, and towards the one in question. An earth pony, setting up show now, rather than tearing down for the evening? Interesting. Maybe one who had eyed a business opportunity, to serve the bat ponies something they liked? Or perhaps something for those who worked late, or the Night Guards, who should soon be donning their armors, and taking to the street, to take over from their Solar Guard counterparts.

"There might be something of interest there. Seems to be one catering to a later clientele... I wonder what exactly it is, that he is selling? From here, I can only make certain assumptions, but the color of the bread leaves me hesitant to say for certain. A closer look would be in order, once we have finished the task at hoof."

Which wouldn't be long. It were just clearing soapy water from some bits. It wasn't cleaning a pocket watch. A quick rub around, and they'd be nice and dry. The cloth would be rather soaked though, once they were done, but it'd dry in time. Rosa would just stick it in the belt, rather than in a pocket, and the air would sort it out naturally. Worst case, he'd just scrap it, but what did it matter? It wasn't important. The important parts of his mask, he had saved elsewhere. Excluding the goggles, that he'd still be wearing, as he waited for the sun to go down in full.

Not all bat ponies had as sensitive eyes as he did, but it were more common among their kinds, than any other. And he were sadly one of the fortunate, but at least, tinted goggles were a thing these days. Wasn't always that simple. Previous generations had more restrictions due to it, the further you went back.

Looking the coins over, they were as clean as before really, but now none could complain, and not be seen simply as pedantic and nitpicky, for the sake of being nitpicky. It should be better this way.

"Everything should be in order now. Shall we see what we are dealing with here then, and see if the vendor is more mellow in his demeanor?"

"Moongrown food is not regular, because it takes more effort. A lot doesn't think it's worth it, but there's a few stragglers that is willing to get the work done, and I for one, like the results better.

And the beans do ignite. Like, literally. After the hour mark, they get so hot, they set themselves on fire. It's not long after that, before they end up burning to ash. And if you're not careful, they will set something on fire along with it. If she actually do eat fire, then I guess... Leave them out for that hour, under moonlight. Though again, you can also just keep them covered, like in a pouch, and enjoy a more sweet treat. The effect wears off once the shell is broken. I'd explain why if I knew it, but I don't really get it. Grandfather aren't even exactly sure how he got this made in the first place.

They're not dragon peppers though, no worries. Fire or not, there's nothing That hot. So it won't kill you."

"Dragon pepper... I won a bottle of that. It taste like fire."

The bat pony seemed surprised at that. As well as a little disturbed. He weren't used to hear that others could stomach that stuff, and frankly, he wasn't sure if he should be impressed, or worried.

"Well uh... Maybe you'd still like to try these? They are more readily available."

"Okay."

So that was one thing then, that he could get some sale in. That was good. Now for his other customer.

"Is there anything you'd like, of what you've seen? I have more things in the cart if it is. I were just starting to set up shop when you arrived."

@Kujamih

Shark fluttered down without any issues, and would get over to Light. Soon as she had stuffed her nose into the dandelion fluff and checked out what it were. To which the answer would be *tickling her nose*, as she'd soon raise her head, face full of the white, inert strains, and then sneeze, spreading it over a small area around her.

Then she'd get right over to her mate. It wasn't that she didn't care of course, but he had seemed fine, so she would be curious about this first. He were a close second though, and that was despite her already knowing how he were. That was important, yes? Were to her anyway. It might not translate well.

"Yes. I am safe. You safe too, yes?"

"Hey, is everything okay over here? Do you need a doctor?"

A random mare had come galloping over, after seeing the bundle being tossed in from the forest, and swearing she saw a pony in the mess. Which seemed to be true, though he were seemingly okay. That was good. She could slow down and have a breather. And just see, she weren't even the first here. There were another mare here, with a long blue mane, and a... Shark tail...

She'd grow a little pale, and take a step back.

"Oh dear Celestia, it's her."

She'd turn around instantly, and run off, with Shark waving as the mare did that. Likely too enthusiastically.

"I remember friend. Frog try to eat her, so I eat frog. She got frog all over. Yummy frog."

She wouldn't hurt ponies after all, but she had been made to hunt and kill, the mutant frogs, and so she had. Had saved quite a few ponies, but the sight of someone pony-like, violently tearing apart, and eating, parts of another creature, were a rough, vividly graphic introduction to Shark. Bit too much for some in town.

"We in friend place now. Where we go? Find friend school? Where? I follow smart mate."

She'd nuzzle his face, and wander behind him, where she'd raise up into the air, so that she were buzzing right above him, and then took her hooves down to bat at his ears playfully. Hehe, fuzzy things. So strange head parts.

"I will be waiting for her - as I am waiting for my friend to come here as well. When she returns here with Soul I am going to have a lot to talk to her about. I know that she may not have expected to come here on such short notice, but I had to do what I had to do after all. This was something that wasn't going to come again and I wasn't going to let miss it. She'll find her craft here - of that I have no doubt. I suspect she will require some adjustment, but the first thing that must come for her is her coming to terms with her pains to find greater clarity. Perhaps then, she'll want to stay after seeing what I had done." she sighed calmly.

"She have lost one special to her, you mentioned earlier. If they linger, she can find closure here. Even if not, they may still be able to help her move past it. We will see what the situation are like, when she arrives."

If a soul lingered on the mare, she could personally dot he first thing, by interacting, in case the others had not, and try to see if she could find some answers, before they went into the chamber. Though it were likely, that they would get here there with all due haste, and they may not even see her, before the process had started. Yet time would tell. They had spend some time now, but it would likely still be about an hour and a half, until they came here.

Her descendant had more to say of her friend, yet Alluria found it best not to say something there. It didn't sound as something that were for her to talk about. Especially not, when she did not even know the mare. She had to gaze upon the mare, and her pan first, before she could speak anything of value about that.

On 2022-04-13 at 5:36 AM, Magnolia said:

Upon seeing the plates, Magnolia would stop for a bit and observe the floating plate of stone curiously. "Hm, that's not something you see everyday, isn't it? Well, you probably do, but not anywhere else usually. Pretty interesting stuff. Spectral runes. I've never dabbled in runes myself. I also have something else to tell you. I was in contact with a being known as Fright. One of...the Draconequi, yes. I am sure you know of her, but I got lost one time in the forest near to Deltrot and she helped me find my way back and said that I should take the chance to tell Zeehva how I really feel. There were also others I met there, as well. A few dragons and others, so willing to help us find a place to stay." Magnolia smiled warmly.

"Fright... I am aware of her. She have served as host for some members of the family, over the generations. Never have I went, nor would I ever, as my trust for their kind are low, yet they all swore that she helped, and told odd tales, of what happened within. I believe there is a small booklet of this, and a pamphlet in the library in fact. Bottom shelf, 361, section S, if I remember correctly.

As I am aware, there is no one there now, but I could be wrong. The family is vast, and dealing with what they do, not all are able to handle it. They grow scared, and worn thin. I could see why they would need a place that helps them deal, even if it sounds suspicious to me."

It were not entirely correct, that she didn't knew anyone there. There were one, whom she had directed there specifically, because she were frightened, and horrified. Yet not of the family per se. A mare, married into it, whose husband had passed. The mother of Mourners Puppet, whom all others assumed had vanished, going into hiding somewhere. Yet she had spend the past ten years in there in fact, trying to steel herself. For what purpose, Alluria did not know. She had simply went to help, and had sworn to not utter the truth to anypony, lest they'd try to bring her back, to the very foal who had not even opened her eyes, yet terrified her more than anything, she had seen in her life.

"She speaks with wisdom though, if what you say are true. Life is finite, and pinning for somepony forever, will not quench the thirst, that lingers in your heart. Find your moment, then approach, and tell her the truth. Rejection is harsh, but the unknown... It can be worse. Sitting with your thoughts, wondering what the answer might be.

It may be awkward, but if she is your friend, then even if she did reject your advances, she should not cast you aside, and life goes on.

As for the waystones, they are likely not many other places. From what I understand, death as a subject of study, tends to be somewhat taboo still, in all of Equestria, except in the case of morticians. This is likely the only place, where you would find these, though elsewhere, in far away lands, who knows what might be? Could well be things even more elaborate than this."

Light grew worry, as he witness the other ponies reaction.

" Well shark, I believe we'll have a hard time convincing the ponies from here..."

Light would ponder a bit for their next move, since the events have given them worrying results.

" First of all.... The wisest choice my brain gave to me is to hide your identity until we reach the school."

He would look at Shark and seeing her hidden breaks his heart.

" But no... It's best we show them who we are! With me by your side shark, we can easily remove the worries of the other citizens of Ponyville! We can show them that you are a friend shark!"

Light would then phase back and forth hatching up ideas to help Shark get a good name and remove the rumors around her...

" Yes yes... Hmmm.... Alright! Let's go Shark! Let's show our love with one another to vanquish the rumors upon you! We'll show them the real Shark Jäger!"

Light would stay really close together with shark, like a couple would and lead her through Ponyville.

As they do, he would observe the reactions of others to see if his plan worked.

He planned that if others would see shark with him, it'll help lessen their fear with Shark.

" Just stick close to me for now Shark and don't charge or go near other ponies for now, it seems they're.... Too shy to see you and are a bit.... I don't know ummm.... Runny? They like to run away a lot... You know like rabbits.... Yup the ponies here are so shy they're like rabbits..... Very judgemental... Racist rabbits...." Light tried to explain...

Charir stopped his doings for a moment when Leviathan created the small thunderbolt, but after concluding it was nothing for him to worry about, he continued his investigation.

"It's not like I want to be stuck with this thing." Ruby commented, she wanted to get rid of the eye as much as others wanted to take it, but she'd first need to figure out the weird connection between it and her sense, she called it a curse yes, but she knew that its effect was too specific for just a curse, and sure she could have destroyed it, but there was really no way of knowing if that would help, it could also make things worse.

Even if Spicy would have offered the drink to Charir, he would have refused, because regardless of any added smells, the smell of alcohol was on the background always, and while he didn't know what alcohol was, he could tell it was not something he'd like, not that anything earthy, sweet and floral was attractive to him either, since he was full carnivore, preferring the metallic smell of blood, fear and death. what? he may have been lot nicer than Ruby, but he was still the same species from the same land. This disinterest was true for most consumables, the fruit and candy were ignored after a short sniff, while the liquor closet and perfumes seemed to be actively unpleasant to him based on his reaction, and they were, not because they smelled bad necessarily, but because of how dominant the smell was, nobody likes it when one thing dominates one of their senses, be it a loud noise or a strong smell.

With the radio Charir showed again some of his intelligence, as while at start it was the expected situation, him smelling it and just poking the thing until something happened, after he learned it made sound, he quickly figured out that the knobs and buttons changed how the sound came out, and played around with it for few moments before turning it off. This would be true for any other piece of technology that may have been around for him to look at, he'd poke at it for a moment, learn what it does, and the eventually learn to control it, he may have had no idea how exactly they worked, but he learned very quickly how to use them, this was extension of their kinds quick situational adaptability that Ruby may have had mentioned at some point, they were very quick learners, and could use what they learned to adapt their approach on the fly, that was yet another reason why they were so dangerous, and why same trick didn't fool them twice.

"Sure"

--------------------------------------------

Some time before, Lyriel moving thigh impassable vegetation out of her way would have been weird to see, but at this point Scarecrow didn't even register it fully in his head due to it being expected from her. "This is oddly normal place for a location like the Everfree forest." He remarked, he didn't mean normal as not special, but normal as....well, not the Everfree forest. "My guess is there's some magic keeping it hidden? Since I haven't stumbled upon this even though I'm sure I've explored the whole forest at this point." "I wonder what kind of magic it must be to even affect a mindless corpse like myself." Having no physical mind, mind control and many types of illusions didn't affect him, since they were dependent of making changes into his mind, a mind that didn't exist. "It seems..calm in here, I don't feel anything myself, but I can tell there's a...calm presence."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Guess that's that then, until you have other suggestions, we probably should return to the others to see if they found anything, though you could keep looking around while we move, being able to fly and all." If Onache had other suggestions, Trox would agree on those, and if she spotted something, he'd join her in that, in any other case, he'd start heading towards the crowd to see if the other found anything.

Sheska was dropped next to the injured ponies, as in, literally dropped, as Sear flew over the crowd and dropped her in, and while Sear and Chega proceeded to scout the area for evidence, Sheska got to work, she didn't have any equipment, herbs or medicine, so healing magic was all she got, and while powerful, it didn't do miracles. She managed to mostly control the bleeding, basically, she would try to stabilize them until they were moved to a hospital, and until something went terribly wrong, she would be able to do so.

She didn't speak a word to anyone else than the caretaker when she arrived, stating that she was a healer when she dropped from the sky, and giving calm orders to the caretaker, If the caretaker didn't listen, or was too panicked to understand, Sheska would physically move her when and where needed to, gently first, but she would get more firm if needed to, this also went for anybody that may have been in the way of her trying to help, she was a skilled fighter, so the ponies around her didn't really have any chance in stopping her from doing her job, though she did stay calm the whole time even if someone got tense, she knew what shock of this kind of situation could do to someone, and knew how to deal with such situation.

Mentally she took the whole thing well, in fact, she didn't really feel much anything besides being sad for these ponies and all the suffering, she had seen so much in her relatively short life that this was very mild, hay, her own brother had almost been ripped apart in front of her.

Sear and Chega also took what they saw relatively well, Chega was more visibly sad about it, but neither of them had any extreme reaction, Sear being a hunter and with them both eating meat, both of them were used to blood, and the biggest shock was the victims rather than the results.

They spotted and followed the trail, and when they spotted the fire, Chega immediately created a magical barrier around it, attempting to extinguish it by creating an air tight bubble around it, hoping to suffocate it. Sear meanwhile sniffed around to see if there was any scents that could tip them towards the perpetrator, even something as little as confirming their species, hoping that it helped a bit that the smell from the fire was also trapped in the magical bubble Chega created. They made sure to not touch anything important.

The door went ignored, because as they saw it, at this point it was meaningless if it was part of this or not, since the perpetrator was the same most likely, so it was more important to deal with what they had here than leave to check the door.

“Let’s take a look. Maybe we might not come out of this with some food, but I’d like to know he’s got on display.”

The longma approached the earth pony vendor placing more foodstuffs on display, mostly more of the same black loaf-like dish, though there are a couple of other things on offer. A half-open pocket filled with vegetables, some assorted fruits on a skewer, and a red roll bursting with some kind of sauce slathered on top were just the more noticeable items on offer. Sen took some time looking over them to see if he could piece together the ingredients, though the most he could gather is, well… vegetables. It wouldn’t be long until the vendor took notice of him and Rosa.

“Oh, hello! I didn’t expect to see customers so early into my shift, so I think you caught me at a bad time. But now that you’re here, you must’ve seen something that interested you. What will it be?”

“Well, I wanted to ask you about this, uh… thing, you got here,” Sen replied, pointing at the black bun that looked like it was stuffed with something bursting out the top upon closer inspection.

“Ah, the stuffed mushroom puff. That’s not bread, by the way. It’s a large Agaricus mushroom stuffed with onions, spinach, and cheese, seasoned and spiced. Took a lot of experimentation, but they turned out great if I’m always running out of them after each shift. Want to try some? Actually, don’t answer just yet. Take a look at what else I’ve got; I’m sure you’ll find them just as interesting and delicious as the mushrooms! Ask away if you or your friend want to know more.”

Fortunately for both Rosa and Sen, this vendor is a lot more accommodating to them. Though he was getting back to setting up his stall, he’d gladly answer more questions about the food he’s selling. By the looks of it, he seems to be the type to have some food ready for the night crowd. If busy nights are expected, he was already getting some of his own cooking equipment set up. The first sets of meals were just the ones Sen and Rosa are seeing right now. Regardless, the longma is already eyeing the stuffed mushrooms as something enjoyable for dinner.

As for Lin, the beans are already a given for Omen, and there wouldn’t be a need to reiterate their intent to purchase. She’d probably go for the slower approach, opting to try a little bit of the most interesting thing but not necessarily going all-out on her meager wallet. After all, she was fairly new to this, but perhaps the fruit basket idea might not stick if she is considering on picking up more moongrown food. Seemed like their intended food options for dinner might just be changing.

Those sound really delicious, and I’m planning to share them over a meal, so I’m thinking of picking some things that can balance out a meal. I think two bunches of grapes and about six potatoes might do, but that might not be enough. How much would all of those be with beans included?”

"You can make plum jelly? How? And how does biting into a cloud turn it into jelly? Is it bat pony magic? What does it taste like?" Plum Blossom asked, quite intrigued. She had never heard of a bat pony that could turn clouds to jelly. It sounded like somethin straight out of a fairy tale. "My family also makes plum jelly, in addition to other things, such as dried plums and putting plums in baked goods."

"Howdy there, I'm Applebloom. I don't think I have met you before. What brings you here to the Apple Family farm, Plum Blossom?" she asked as she noticed the other two walk up. Applejack seemed to have walked off.

Then a bit of a dark grin came across her face. "When you are at the brink of death you learn to let go of all fear. I have nothing to fear anymore. Because I have already been at the gates of death - I know what it's like, and when my time comes again I will know what to expect. But I hope that won't come anytime soon." she shrugged casually. "Fear is the killer of all dreams, really. I was never a fearful pony. While I had it in my ability to find success, perhaps even in grand avenues - that is never what I desired. A simple life amongst nature was what I sought after...until my jealousy about my sister's accomplishments got to me, and it went to my head - but once again, Zeehva was the one who steered me away from that for the final time. How I am thankful for that." a peaceful grin came across her face upon that statement.

"I have seen those come through, who find their end from bears. You are most fortunate, that you got off with only this mark, though your lesson is hopefully not as narrow as you make it sound.

Fear should not control you, but having none, makes you reckless, and will cause your downfall. One needs to accept, and respect, that there are things out there, that one should be cautious about, and not simply rush into things, thinking there is no cause for alarm. An untimely, reckless death, is rarely worth it, lest the sacrifice holds meaning."

More powerful souls, could shimmer more or less, to make themselves seem as when they had been alive and well. Others could add that for them, making them more presentable to the lost ones. But those weak of soul, or recently deceased, tended to look as when they had died. And when it came to those, who met their end because of bear attacks, it were quite a striking sight. It were good that Magnolia had not been among them, though it were clear how bad it could well have gotten, had the bear truly wished to tear her apart.

In regards to the point of having no fear, she hoped she simply misunderstood her descendant. Having no fear, were something that quite a few souls she had seen in her time, had been brought low by. She wouldn't wish that upon her own flesh and blood.

"As for the draconequui... As I understand it, after the fall of Discord, they came to understand their own vulnerability in Equestria, and either left, or went into hiding. I can imagine with his recent acceptance though - as ludicrous as the notion is - that we may start to see a resurgence. For better or worse, is hard to say, but there will likely be caution, at least in the beginning."

On 2022-04-15 at 7:53 AM, Magnolia said:

"I am well traveled but I have never seen anything like this, so that just goes to show me that I am no so well traveled as I thought. I am sure there are many things of such a nature. While there are many things I am sure I could see - I find it more interesting to reach out to the ponies that are around here. It would prove more fruitful for me to talk to them - I will hopefully be staying here, will I not?" she quirked an eyebrow as she looked into Alluria's eyes.

"Very well. Let us then find the one whom I wished you to speak with first then. Follow me."

They wouldn't have to go far, to get to where she meant, though Magnolia might be surprised at the house they'd face. Considering the entire town, and how there tended to be some flair to them, it might be rather weird to just see a regular, small hut here. A very unimpressive building, in one floor plan, made out of wood. The most notable thing, being that there were small wooden figurines, hanging in small chains from the rafter. All of them depicting various creatures, and all of them both realistic, and with the thin chains holding them, being tied around the necks. Beyond that, this were little more, than a small, wooden cabin. And judging by the smoke rising, somepony were home.

Approaching the hut, Alluria would knock the door thrice, then step back a meter from the door, and wait. She would halt Magnolia from moving further than this, if she tried, as this were the time they should wait.

It would take about a half minute, but soon enough, a mare would open the door. And if Magnolia had at any point, thought that Madamme Macabre looked strict, it were nothing, compared to this one.

Her mane were raven black, and tied behind her head. Her eyes, as grey as the steel there seemed to be radiating from it, as her eyes gazed upon Magnolia and Alluria. Not a smile, or a wrinkle indicating many smiles had been in her life at all either, from the emotionless face, those scouring, judging eyes sat within.

Her coat color were a faded, crimson red, though not much of it were shown, as she wore a modest kimono, likely imported from Neighpon. Dark in nature, with blood-red thread, showing depictions of a dragon, elongated and odd, compared to those of Equestria, in a flowing pattern, with flower sprawling around it. The pattern covering all of her kimono, down to her dark, wooden shoes, that clacked as she moved on the more common wood of her cabin.

She bore no weapons, and no visible trinkets, but who knew what may lie beneath the kimono? It certainly had place for several things, if you knew what you were doing.

Overall, the mare would give off an attitude of no nonsense. A judgmental teacher, whom you did not want to cross, lest you felt the ire of a well swung ruler. If her mere glare were not enough.

"Whom is this, that you bring to my home?"

"This is Moonlight Sparkle. My descendant, though she wishes to be referred to as Magnolia.

Magnolia, this is Geist Reaver. One of Madamme Macabre's oldest daughters, and member of her high council. She is also Soul's mother."

Light might be surprised to see, that the general reaction to Shark being around, were mostly just curiosity, or full on ignorance, as there were a fair deal, who had their own things to do after all.

You could see some that reacted like the mare from earlier though, and did theirs to get away when she got within sight, but it were less than half a dozen. Even fewer than those who seemed to wave at her, or as they passed, say hello.

After the attack on town, she had been mingling a bit for a day's time, when she weren't in the forest. Despite them seeing what she did to the monster frogs, they had mostly come to realize that she were harmless, if a little odd. Both in looks and behavior. That, and she had been saving lives, so it were hard for them to hate her. It were mostly initiate fear, and then some who had no trust in draconequui creations. They'd warm up to her in time, and those who thought she were if nothing else, owed some measure of lenience for her help, were far outnumbering them.

The foals also seemed to find her rather cool overall, with a few excitedly pointing towards her, and wave enthusiastically, with big smiles on their faces. Seemed to get a real kick out of them, to see her smile back, with those huge chompers of hers.

Honestly, more seemed to look questioningly at Light, for seemingly partnering up with her. A few even concerned, due to her previous stunt of seemingly just picking a random stallion, and saying he were her mate.

They'd pretty much be left alone though, and not accosted. This town had seen enough weird things lately, that a pair of oddities like this, were frankly, not all that important to focus on. A rather jaded place these days in some regards, one might say, but so were things.

They like to run away a lot... You know like rabbits.... Yup the ponies here are so shy they're like rabbits..... Very judgemental... Racist rabbits...." Light tried to explain...

"Raaaab-biiiit. Rabbit. I hunt rabbit before. Just fun, no eat. They are fast. Very little... M-eeeat. Meat. Very little meat."

She thought they were fun chasing, but they didn't look all that tasty to her. Lots of for, and no meat on them. Yuck. Fish were much better, and birds... She hadn't eaten one yet, but she had been looking. Some of them looked very plumb. Very tasty. But she understood not to hunt animals here in town. Fluttershy had approached her as she had been hunting a rabbit, and told her not to chase after pets. It had taken her a bit to explain what a pet were, but Shark had understood in time, and nodded vigorously, when asked if she understood, that town wasn't for that kind of thing.

She kinda liked that mare. SHe had a nice, calm aura around her. Even though the look she had given her at the start, made Shark feel kinda weird. Like she wasn't herself. Much strangeness, yes?

"Is friend school near? What does it look like? Is it big?"

"Yeah, you sorta have an unhealthy relationship with that trinket of yours. No matter what way you turn the dice though, I reckon trying to nab it from you, is gonna end up costing somepony a leg.

No worries though, yeah? It ain't burning you or nothing. Just an attachment thing. I'm sure you'll get it figured out eventually, and 'til then, it least ain't hurting ya."

Could be other side effects, but you know, try to spin a positive light on stuff sometimes, weren't hurting anyone, yeah? She were trying to be all supportive and stuff here.

"Sure"

She had a little fun time looking at the small'ish dragon, poking around with things. Seemed like alcohol and perfume weren't his thing, so he were pretty draconic on at least that. Mostly the perfume, though she admittedly didn't know a lot of dragons that drank alcohol. They tended to have a fairly good tolerance, and could sometimes be massive. Trying to get a buzz like that, were like trying to clean this room with a broken toothbrush. Technically possible, but so not worth the darn time and effort.

Also, seeing how dragons tended to breathe fire over dumb things normally, having a drunk one could be disastrous.

It were better seeing him interact with the radio though. Clearly he weren't familiar with it, but he seemed to grasp it fairly quickly. Rather standard thing too granted, but y'know, some folks would've started that by poking it, and then smashing it to bits, so this were certainly a better approach to things. It'd need to be tuned to the right channel again later though. Minor issue, if ever there were one.

"Grand. Now then... Until I'm sorted out here, anything you're curious about, or are ya aiming to have a gander round this casino? See the old hags face up everywhere.

I swear, the employee party over this, is gonna be legendary. No one liked the black-souled, rancid witch. Not even her son. But y'know how it is. Have to pretend to for the press and all that."

"It were not here, before I arrived. I had it made. Us Dryads needs a sanctuary, for safety and calm. The heart of the forest, where the Earth Mother's energy flows the freest, and our roots find peace, are the best. It were merely overgrown when I found it, yet now, it is a small piece of land, that reminds me of home. The one place in the forest, where no fighting is allowed. It is also as mentioned, the only place where I am truly vulnerable, within this forest. So you see why I am careful with whom I share the location, and why it is as you guessed, warded by magic.

It is not much, but I do have some illusion options. Mostly through spores, but thick thicket can help ward against those, that does not affect."

Lyriel went over and gently stroke the various animals here, whom did not sleep. She did not wish to disturb them, if possible. They deserved their rest, in the one place they knew they were not in danger.

"The calm presence you sense, is the raw essence of the Earth Mother's soothing embrace, radiating so strongly, that even those not of the forest, can feel it.

It is also where I tend to a special creation, whom I were entrusted, yet already I feel, it yet slumbers. Dormant, yet growing slowly, and brimming with new life. The nurture of her embrace, shall raise one better than where it came from. of that I am certain.

*sigh* But I speak and I speak, with little in the way of moving things along, I suppose. I wished to present you my home, and I hear even you can tell, that it is special, in some way. And now too, you know why you could never find it. First it were not here, and then, it were shielded off. It is mostly only the animals who knows how to enter here."

If Onache had other suggestions, Trox would agree on those, and if she spotted something, he'd join her in that, in any other case, he'd start heading towards the crowd to see if the other found anything.

She were silent for a moment, as she scanned more broadly, trying to find something of interest to work with, yet there were nothing. This were not their goal, and none here had clues they could use for anything.

"No, there is nothing here. I shall examine from up high, whilst you move back towards the others. Mayhap there is something to see from there."

Fluttering her new wings, with a slight buzzing sound to it, she'd rise up from the ground, and get a greater overview over things, as they moved towards what turned out to be the real crime scene. Yet she saw nothing of note from up here. There simply weren't clues, and she were too late to see the one who had done this, escape.

Mentally she took the whole thing well, in fact, she didn't really feel much anything besides being sad for these ponies and all the suffering, she had seen so much in her relatively short life that this was very mild, hay, her own brother had almost been ripped apart in front of her.

The caretaker were shocked, and had no idea even what she were looking at here, but it weren't as if she had other options. She couldn't help these two ponies by herself, more than likely, and this one said she were a healer. Even if only a minor one, it could help keep them stable, until the hospital staff arrived, who had more advanced knowledge on these sorts of things.

So she would accept the help, and do what she could herself. Keeping pressure, use parts of her own uniform to tie up wounds- Anything that would be asked of her. While she were clearly nervous, and had a lot of questions, Sheshka should be able to see, that her first priority, were to the ponies, and as such, wouldn't bother her with questions, or anything of the like right in this moment. The kobold needed to focus.

There would come four nurses, and two doctors running to them, shortly after. They were packed to the brim with the medical equipment needed to stabilize and begin treatment as quickly as possible, to ensure the two could handle the travel to the hospital. An operating room were already prepared, and now they just needed to move them there without delay.

A flurry of bandages, gauze, IV drops, blood transfusion packs, straps, and so on were made use of, as the elderly couple, were put on the gurneys, and transported with haste. Sheshka would be given some quick thank you's, but they were busy with this, so it were very brief. As for the caretaker, she would follow. She had her responsibility here as well. Sheska could be proud though. She probably just saved their lives.

Sadly, most of the things had already been consumed, or contaminated by the fire at this point. The only smell were soot, and some sort of accelerant. Likely lamp oil, as it were fairly easy to get hold of.

The clothes were the remnant of a white shirt, carrying some resemblance to the one, that the caretaker had worn. Though there were no name tag present.

As for the knife, the handle were halfway charcoal by now, but it did seem to be made out of bamboo, which were at least, a little more unusual, for these parts of Equestria. The blade had seemingly been double-sided, and razor-sharp. Good fortune they were not serrated, or this could have gone a lot worse.

"Can't say I have seen a stuffed mushroom recently. How fascinating."

Quite frankly, being up close like this? It looked delicious. But he didn't want to sound too eager, or it might jack up the price. He wasn't gonna haggle here, but still, no need to make the vendor look at two being too giddy, and perhaps eyeing an opportunity. Sounded like the wares were popular too, although that could merely be a rouse from him, to try and sell his wares more. The smell though... Ancestors, his senses were good, and the smell that hit his nostrils, almost made him want to drool. Tonight or some other, he would definitely have to try this. Just something about a proper mushroom dish that made him feel a little nostalgic, he supposed. His father sometimes made some mushroom stew, and it was rather good, he might add. Nothing fancy though. Just some good, old fashioned stew.

This were not the same, and he were well aware of it, but mushrooms were still something that evoke good memories for him, and honestly, the smell of this, were not too far off. Gave him a little emotional tug, if you would.

Rosa would look over, and glance at what other wares he had. Some rather good dishes from the looks of things. Vegetarian in nature, of course, as could be expected. Meat vendors had to be in less favorable areas sadly, due to equine weakness, more or less. With a few, still highly regulated exceptions. At least if the meat were supposed to be out in the open. Hidden in other meals... Long as it were written, in a place that could not be easily ignored, it were likely okay.

Yet while he looked at other things, his eyes always returned to the mushrooms. Had they come later, there were likely something more readied here, but right now, with what he saw, they still seemed the most intriguing options.

"Sen? In my personal opinion, I would say it might not be too bad, making use of those stuffed mushroom puffs. They could be presented as a potential desert, in case the main meal are already prepared. Or as additions, if there is not enough. Though what might your opinion be on this?"

“I’d like some of the Northlight Grapes, and maybe some Star Potatoes as well. Those sound really delicious, and I’m planning to share them over a meal, so I’m thinking of picking some things that can balance out a meal. I think two bunches of grapes and about six potatoes might do, but that might not be enough. How much would all of those be with beans included?”

"Let's see... Two grapes, six potatoes, and a bag of beans, would be... 21 bits."

It were on the pricier side, but not as far as more gourmet food. Had they known what this normally could cost, they might even realize it were somewhat of a discount, based on amount. Could've been a fair bit worse.

The price had hardly been said, before omen would open her muzzle, and slowly, extend her tongue forth, with 21 bits stacked on it, all nice and neatly. Still curious how she were clearly able to count, yet couldn't read, before Lin tried to teach her some basics, a few days prior.

The bat pony though, looked a little unsure what to do here.

"T-That's a long tongue. I uhm... G-Guess you're not a pony, h-huh?"

"No."

"*gulp* And here I thought my cousin were joking...

Uhm... O-okay, a customer is a customer. That's the important part. Right. But this is a little uh... H-Hold on, please."

He'd wander over to his cart, and take a bucket of soapy water out. He had used it to clean the stand before, so it were a little murky, but still mostly clean. Cleaner than what he assumed Omen's tongue were, at the very least.

"Could you please put them in here? Just for health and safety reasons. I'd prefer not to risk anything."

Omen would do as told, and for the time being, he'd let the bits soak i the water, as he began to pack up the order, as it were given. Soon as he checked they were real, and not made of chocolate. But nope. Real bits that were. Slivers of hard gold, that she had apparently had in her mouth, or even stomach. Whaty a thing to start off his evening with.

And in case Lin tried to pay, Omen would just say she were doing it, and would stretch her tongue further on, to push her bits being used. She didn't understand the value a lot, but she knew that she had literally no use for these, to live her life, whatsoever. Might as well put them to use, so she wouldn't jingle as she walked.

He didn't sound sure, but he said it was safe. Just a little strange. But he said mixed equines can have all sorts of oddities.

And it tastes like plums. That time it did, anyway. Always random tastes. The cloud though, it just kinda tastes like biting into a wet, fluffier balloon."

The mixed genes, of her dad being a full thestral, and her mother a pegasus, were the reason for a few things, such as her colors. Most bat ponies after all, were dark colors, to blend into the night. Her? Not even remotely. She'd be easy to spot in a dark forest, with her limegreen theme. Though she did take more from her dads side, than her mothers.

"Heyah. I saw you at school, before that monster came through town, and they had to close it for a few days. I was gonna say hello, but then Featherweight wanted to take some pictures. It was pretty fun. Got to scare some bullies too, hehe. I dunno why they think I'd bite them. I'm not a vampire."

Vampire bats were sadly a real thing. An affliction that could lead one down some pretty dark paths, if they didn't get the proper help for it. There were no cure, for this rare thestral disease, but there were ways to cope with it, and still live a perfectly normal life, despite it. Though it took discipline, and quite often, the support of friends, family, and professionals.

"I'm still really new though, so Plum's being nice and showing me around. I heard lots of good stuff about Apple family farms, when I lived in Canterlot. Seemed like a fun place to see first."

She'd be all smiles, which would show off her fangs. Yes, they were quite sharp. And yes, if she bit you, she'd break skin. Didn't mean she were actually gonna bite others, but a little hunching, a little hissing, and she had scared off some bullies. For some reason that worked a lot.

As they continue, Light would see that every pony in Ponyville pretty much like Shark and his worries and doubts was all for not.

"Oh ho, a dance and a feast?  Quite the party to be had in Harrowmark this day.  A grand cultural exchange.  I may not be able to command the stage like my daughter and wife, but I'm sure I can shuffle these hoofs well enough on a dance floor," the jolly stallion chuckled.  "I'll be sure to be on my best behavior and stay will the tour group.  VIP treatment, been many Moons since such a thing I can remember for us.  When was that dear, Dawn's graduation?" Star Echo inquired.  "As a family, yes," Grace affirmed.  Individually, Grace had her fairer share to VIP events through the theater that the rest of her family may have missed out on.  Although, Dawn in recent years has made sure to sprinkle them with their times to rub elbows with high society, but this usually only interested Grace.  Star was more in for long conversations with scholars on the most random of topics.

"Quite right, quite right.  An absolute treasure trove to be able to sample your stories and myths to share with Equestria.  These giant moths also sound intriguing.  I can't claim to be an expert in the field of insects, or any creature for that matter, but scholarly curiosity is too good to give up," Star could admit with a glimmer of excitement in his eye.  "Moths don't have the best of reputations in Equestria, especially among the more fashion forward ponies like my wife and daughter, ho ho ho," he chuckled.  "But a creature of the beauty you describe with such passion and with such significance to you land.  Truly deserves to be admired," the stallion concluded with another adjustment of his spectacles.

"We worry, if not openly so, but it always rests in the back of our minds," Grace admitted.  "Law enforcement, often puts one's life on the line for others.  How proud we are works to subdue such thoughts that one day it might come with harsher consequences.  That Rising wouldn't waste a second thought jumping to Equestria's aid, we aren't surprised.  Not at all.  Maybe after these past few years, we've become more accustom to it that our outward appearance to such may have muted.  Nervous, excited, proud, the emotions of a parent are an ever changing river."  It also helps that the twins usually censor the worst parts of the stories.

"~didn't mention the whole time we were shopping!  You left it there on purpose!  I did.  You were just going to have me tot you around?  Yes," the twins simply appeared from about where Dawn departed moments ago.

"Sen? In my personal opinion, I would say it might not be too bad, making use of those stuffed mushroom puffs. They could be presented as a potential desert, in case the main meal are already prepared. Or as additions, if there is not enough. Though what might your opinion be on this?"

“Well, I’ve never had mushrooms before, so this is going to be entirely new to me. If these things could be found back home, no one’s found them yet. This’ll be worth trying, so I’m sure I’ll be having some regardless of when we eat them. Let’s see what else looks good before proceeding…”

Aside from the stuffed mushrooms, the vendor pulled up some trays with vegetable wraps covered in tomato sauce and some deep dish pies, likely also containing vegetables. The variety would depend on the types of vegetables used, but it seemed like Sen was eyeing the vegetable wraps more than the other, especially when those looked rather thick, like they’re just about ready to burst.

“Excuse me, what can you tell me about these wrapped vegetables? The ones covered in red?”

“Oh, these? I call them Harvest Wraps. You know? Like a farmer's harvest? It’s got a lot of vegetables packed in them. Squash, eggplants, mushrooms, peppers, zucchinis all wrapped and coated tomato sauce and drizzled in lime juice. They’ve also got some cheese and fresh herbs, but I figured it would be better to just let the taste of the vegetables speak for themselves. Not quite as popular as the stuffed mushrooms, but I still see a fair amount of customers buying them. They’re pretty big though, so keep that in mind. Probably good for two in some cases.”

The vendor wasn’t joking, as those wraps came in varied size. The biggest ones on the table could feed two, which may make those worth picking up if they were going for something to add to the main course. Sen was pretty convinced with what he wanted to buy, as he’d definitely go with the stuffed mushrooms as well.”

“I’m definitely going to try those wrapped vegetables. I take it you’re good with the stuffed mushrooms, Rosa? They look pretty good, but I don’t think I want to go overboard with food for tonight’s meal. I’m good with those two and buying enough for us. You want to add anything else?”

Meanwhile, Lin insisted on paying for the food, following their earlier discussion with Sen and Rosa. She got some bits on her, but it seemed like Omen was just as insistent on paying for their meal. Spooking the vendor aside, things went pretty well, and they grabbed some food for dinner without running into problems. The longma would still inspect the items they bought, but they were all there. As for the vendor, she’d try to smooth things over and reassure him. It was the least she could do for accommodating her and Omen.

“Thank you very much, and you don’t need to worry about my friend here. I know what just happened was weird, but I can assure you, it’s all harmless.”

Lin then turned to Omen, though she’d put her bits away for the moment. “That takes care of some of the food for tonight’s meal, though I’m not sure if we could still grab something else. You think a fruit basket is still worth picking up for Uddo and his family? I mean, if they're preparing something, we'd have a lot to eat. Maybe too much to eat.”

Truth be told, Lin was fine with either option, as there was a very good chance Uddo would have prepared something for them. Buying more food would just leave their purses feeling lighter, and one wouldn’t know when they’ll require some money for emergencies. On the other hand, it may come off as rude to not bring something to a host’s home. Their food was a “thank you” greeting, but giving something that could last a little longer than a few days would be better.

"As a family, yes,"

"I am not sure what a *VIP* is, but even without knowing the queen's mood, I can assure you that your safety will be a high priority. It would not show well on Harrowmark, if we let our great hero's own family be harmed. Especially during a time, celebrating how he saved our country. Queen Magenta, would not stand for that on her legacy. Especially not with how much she loathed Twisted.

As I told before though, keep an open mind. The guards will not be like those I've seen here, for the most case."

They'd see for themselves soon enough what she meant, but just in general, it were best if they tried to not be too judgmental. Somehow, she honestly doubted that would be an issue with Star. He seemed the sort who'd be more curious about things, and try to understand why things were as they were, rather than judge, and dismiss it out of hoof. But her impressions of him were based on only little, as she had barely been around him thus far. They'd see how things would turn out, as it progressed.

"They carry significant religious status, and are the favored beings, of the goddess Viz'nay. As bad a reputation as they may have here, they are held in high regards in Harrowmark. Just the giant ones though. The smaller ones are but regular, simple insects. Excuse them if they get a little curious when you see them though. I know little of them, but I saw them emerge from their cocoons. Young minds like that, gets curious of the world they've emerged into."

It shouldn't prove a danger, but more like, he might have a few of them land on him, and crawl all over the pony. It were hard to tell, since as mentioned, they were but fresh minds. What they knew of, were likely from long ago, before everything went harsh. And even then, they were insects. It wasn't as if their minds aspired to much, regardless of size.

This one, she wouldn't answer first, but rather nod beforehoof.

"Spoken like true parents. Proud of their accomplishments, yet fearful of what may happen to them. I understand it well. The protective mindset never truly goes away.

My daughter is around your age. She had her life, far away from me, for a long time now, and I don't even know if she would welcome the sight of me anymore. Yet still, I worry for her safety, and pray for her soon waking from the slumber she is in.

Harsh as our culture can be, we value family greatly. This is one thing, I think our countries can connect to both. And Suusha be willing, I hope Sickle will be as welcoming to you, as you were of me."

Minus the collapsing cage that were, but she had brought that up enough as it were. No need to shame him further for that... When he weren't there to hear it.

And speaking of which.

"~didn't mention the whole time we were shopping!  You left it there on purpose!  I did.  You were just going to have me tot you around?  Yes," the twins simply appeared from about where Dawn departed moments ago.

She would have greeted the siblings, yet before she opened her mouth, she could feel a disturbance in the area. Rising and maybe Dawn, should be able to feel it too. Someone was trying to connect to a tether here, though it wasn't his. It were the one connected to Lily. Rising had been proven hard to pinpoint, due to him moving around, so they had gone for another they could feel. Which also seemed to be near, so that was fortunate.

If they were redirected, they would make use of the nearest opening they could then, and the pony in front, would simply move to them from there.

If uninterrupted, the complex spell would seek out the nearest hard surface, and use that as an entrance. From there, if it were say, a wall, a door would shimmer into view. Old and made of oak, it were looking rather sturdy. Were it getting to a large mirror, it would simply be used as the gateway instead, but it had be be a body-length one. A hoof mirror wouldn't do.

Regardless of the wall, or merely a mirror, the sound of a dozen metal-clad hooves would be heard, before the door opened, and a pony would step through.

drtlye1567479890062.jpg

His garb were clean, yet worn to the point, where one could see the scrapes and imperfections here and there, which came with age. The pony who wore it, suited it though. A white mane, pulled backwards into a bun. Small glasses, laying firmly on his nose. A chain dangling down to his breast pocket, likely carrying a small watch were also present, and though not much were seen on his torso, due to the outfit, his free legs and face, would reveal his coat color to be fading black, with a few greying streaks here and there, even though he didn't look to be past forty, at the worst. His face were also emotionless, and his stance regal.

Overall, he looked like taking out of a history book, but it wasn't as if it were all that far off.

"Peace upon your home. On behalf of her royal majesty, Queen Magenta the Second, I come requesting the presence of Rising Dusk, and family, at the royal castle in Copperhagen. I am Raven Spur. High advisor to the throne.

Her majesty wished to inform you, that your safety will be considered an outmost priority, and have such, dispatched her finest knights, to ensure your safe passage. Sir Granit?"

A pony in the background would step forward, yet remain on the other side. He were clad fully in shining armor, freshly reforged and polished, in anticipation of this meeting, except for the helmet, which he had atop of his halberd. From there, one could see that he had short acorn-colored hair, some green fur, and a steely, ice-blue pair of eyes, filled to the brim with determination to fulfill his duty.

...He also seemed to have had several large fangs tear through the right side of his head, which had been stitched up well with strings and some kind of dark, tar-like substance, that seemed to work as a kind of glue potentially, but one could clearly see that whatever had struck him, hadn't left him alive. Rising should be able to confirm this, due to the natural, necromantic energy of Harrowmark, laying thicker upon this stallion, than on Raven.

"Sir!"

He'd bash his pike into the ground, at the exact same time as the half dozen knights behind him. Not all were undead though. Just him, and one more. Soon as they had their helmets on though, it should be fairly easy to ignore.

"Are you prepared for the trip? I mean not to rush you, but her majesty is insistent on meeting you. She have also requested the presence of Amazon Lily, and assured she will receive the same degree of protecting as you. Provided that she complies."

===================================================================

It were indeed a big place, this school of friendship. Rivalling a castle in size, it sprawled before them, as they approached, and made Shark give off big eyes. She liked the looks of this. Especially because it had water around too, so she could make sure she didn't get too dry, and could dive in for comfort. Maybe even for lunch. She weren't sure if it had fish.

She'd go have a look actually, and fluttered off towards the school, before halting still in the air momentarily. The only thing moving, being her wings. And then she'd dive in, face first, and swim around in the water, with great delight. And to the confusion of some of the students who had been enjoying their breaks, and now suddenly saw a pony with a shark tail, swimming around in the lake beneath the school, without a care in the world.

Quickly as she had dived in though, she'd rush out again, and flutter back to the side of Light. She were rather damp from the dip, but the worst water had fallen off quickly as she flew, and strangely enough, her mane still looked as if she had been brushing it for an hour. A perk of being made by an odd, chaotic being, more than likely.

"No fish. Good water. Clean."

It wouldn't be many more seconds than that, before they were confronted though. Not in a harsh way, just by a student. Early twenties it seemed. With big, square glasses, green mane and tail, pale-yellow coat, and looking fairly regular beyond that. Height, weight, built and even mane and tail length, were rather average.

"Uhm... Hello? What uhm... I mean, what brings you here? I guess... The school, obviously, yes. Many ones comes here now. All over Equestria. Didn't know... No, didn't see this coming."

He sounded like he were a little unsure about things, and looked clueless at Light. He didn't know Shark, nor Light, so he weren't sure what to try. But he could try being helpful. That might help on his studies.

Magnolia nodded quietly in understanding. "Indeed. This world is just beginning in many ways. Many historical things have happened in recent years. Spurred on by my sister, of all ponies."

(Been using the wrong color code for Alluria. Changing it back from now)

"Yes, I were informed she have been quite bus, mending old bridges, and forming new ones. It is because of that, that I were willing to be somewhat tolerant of her non-responsiveness, as I assumed her embroiled fully in these matters. Yet she will still have to answer, for why she could not find time to send a simple response. A few letters is one thing, but I have attempted communication for over a year now. I find it implausible, that her time would be fully taken over as long a period as that."

She were feeling a little offended quite honestly, but she would have answers soon enough. Now she had been given directions once more, form a difference source. Surely then, she could manage to come and visit two members of her family, and partake in the gathering. The questions more would be about Shining Armor, considering the trip it would be for him. Though who knew? She were not aware of how good the teleportation magic were in the Crystal Kingdom. It had always just been a myth in her time.

On 2022-04-20 at 2:26 AM, Magnolia said:

"It is pleased to met you, Geist Reaver. I have already met Soul a handful of times. He is a very helpful one - in my case, I can say that." she spoke, not sure what else to say - but that was good for now.

"Where is my son now?"

"He have gone to ensure her friend's passage, as the mare needs the clan's help.

Know though, that Magnolia were instrumental in ensuring he returned here, whilst I made sure that him and Macabre finally talked again. They have reconciled."

"Have they spoken of anything else?"

"Patience. It will come."

"It better. His training have fallen behind as is."

Some might think that Geist did not have much care for her son, but any who knew her, would be aware that nothing were further from the truth. She had her reasons, for being strict and push him to be better, but though she had a hard time showing it, she loved her son, with every fiber of her being. There were naught, that she wouldn't do for him. That included trying to get him back to town before now, but Macabre were a stubborn old fool sometimes. It took time to make her admit her mistakes. Fortunate had finally smiled upon them now it seemed though, with the arrival of Magnolia.

Yet, though fortunate might smile, she did not. Her eyes just landed solely on Magnolia, and scrutinized her to a degree, where one might think she could glare into the mare's very soul. Which in this town, wasn't unreasonable to suspect.

"So I have you to thank, for bringing him home? It is appreciated. Though I doubt you came here, simply to speak of my son. Speak truthfully: What brings you to my doorstep?"

The sort of look Magnolia got, carried a silent *And you best not try and lie to me, young lady* vibe. This were not a mare she'd want to get on the bad side of. Nor try to hug. She'd find attempting such an action would have... Consequences.

"You can always save some for another time, if it were you were uncertain, about whatever or not we are bringing too much. It is a delicate balance. At what point, does one bring enough to make up for added beings present? Too little, or too much, can be seen as insulting, or awkward. With ponies I would be able to tell better, but with them... I am not certain, where the line goes.

It would be simpler if it were a picnic. All are expected to bring something there, and it is seen as better to bring plenty, rather than not having enough.

*sigh* Regardless, I am well sated, with what I have seen, for the time being. Do remember that we also have Lin and Omen doing their own shopping, so I would suggest we do not go too overboard, and then keep this vendor in mind for another time. I'm certain he will be here other evenings too, which gives ample opportunities to try his additional products at a more convenient time."

Basically, they could come back another time, and have more of a feast on other products, in case what were picked out by them currently, would turn out to be quite delectable.

As it were, if they went for much more, they may as well be hosting the meal itself, which may be a little overboard. As well as being seen as a little rude, but he honestly weren't sure on that. Longma might have other traditions about this, as well as different views on the whole process. It would be hard to say for him. Sen were the only one among them, who'd have any sort of idea.

"Maybe a small fruit basket would be best then?"

Not one to skip out on the chance to make another sale, he'd scurry over to his cart, and pull something out. A small, hoof-weaved basket, with a selection of four moongrown fruits, in various amounts.

There seemed to be some bundles of berries, that shimmered like stars. What might be a banana of some sort, though both of them were purple, and twirled like a shoe from the far east at the bottom.

Then there were a single... Pineapple? It were hued various kinds of orange, and about the same size, but this seemed to have swirls all over its shell, and looked rather soft.

And then there were several clutches in a circle, encompassing the rest, of something that looked like roses. However, the petals looked thick, and extremely meaty, and if you looked closer, the petals were full of juicy meat of some kind. Something akin to a regular, dark grape.

The overall impression were more rural and less fancy, than the baskets one could get at more professional wrappers. But it had a certain rustic charm to it, if one liked that kind of thing. Omen certainly kept starring.

"A gift? like the one Rosa got, but with strange fruits?"

Omen had never seen moongrown food before today, so frankly, she were as curious as any about this.

"He liked it, yes? Maybe Uddo will too?"

" Ah good day sir. We came hear to learn about friendship and pony traditions, since Shark would like to learn more about it. While I too would like to learn about our culture here since I'm.... I'm really not from around here, and would like to learn more about my partners culture and behavior... About sharks.

" Oh introductions. Sorry... My name is White Light, you may call me Light. And my partner here is called Shark Jäger."

TWILIGHT SPARKLE

"Owl's gone," Twilight whispered forlornly to herself as she watched it fly off before shaking her head. She couldn't dwell on the past and examined the letter more throoughly. "Convenient or not, this letter is here. I say we follow it but keep cautious about where we're going. We don't know what we're going to end up walking into. Do we have supplies gathered for the trip? It says here there's a train stop after Canterlot that's near Thicket Woods so I guess that's where we're going next," Twilight told the gathered group and looked back at the name. She had no recollection of knowing who the pony was and narrowed her eyes in thought. "Magnolia ... I don't know who that is but she seems to know me for the letter to arrive at this time."

DAWN STREAK & DAZZLE GLEAM

"Well, so far he seems hoity toity and somehow ... I like that about him," Dawn admitted, looking Kaltrops over as thought through what Pop and Benny told her.

"Yeah, I'll be safe, Stare," Dazzle nodded at her friend before regarding the pair of dragon-pony couples. She didn't think there'd be more like her parents but it turns out the world is a lot stranger than she thought it'd be. "So ... Is there, uh, anything you want to ask me? You probably have a lot of questions about, well, me actually being here instead of dragon-pony children being a myth."

AURORA LIGHTS

"But isn't Queen Onache in the desert?" Aurora asked Happy in complete confusion. She swore Onache made her new hive in the desert but it could be her memory playing tricks on her thanks to the chaos dimension they just got pushed out of. "Having friends tag along, even if it feels like you should be a drone, could be nice, Lulu," she told the other changeling, a slight bit of authority automatically edging into her voice when she spoke of her new friend as a simply lowly drone within her hypothetical hive.

KARMIC FATE & ATZY

"Nope, not a clue," Karmic shook her head immediately. Her head simply went up into the clouds when intelligent smarty talk entered her ears. Her eyes glazed over slightly and she hummed to herself. At the moment, to the rest of the group, it looked like she had detached herself entirely from her body at the mention of 'robots' and 'AI'.

"Okay ... well ... Karmic has spaced out on a dime," Atzy commented with a quirked brow at seeing her sister completely check out of reality. "I don't know what a robit or an AI is but I would love to find out. More knowledge is better, right?"

“Very well. I’ll settle for the things we’re interested in trying.” The longma turned his attention to the vendor and readied himself to purchase their food, though he’d brace himself if the costs become staggeringly high. “We’ll take one Harvest Roll and maybe six stuffed mushrooms.”

“I assume by the six mushroom puffs, you’re talking about six pieces? I sell them in threes, but I get what you mean. That’ll be 23 bits, mister.”

The total was a little more expensive than Sen expected, but he’d have enough to cover it. He pulled out his pouch and have the exact amount readied while the vendor packed their food. Once ready to make the transaction, they’d both exchange the money for the goods. Fortunately, this one didn’t go off without any problems, unlike the mare from the previous stall. Things went about as well as expected, with the vendor handing Sen a packed meal box with their food in it.

“Thank you for your purchase, mister. Hope you enjoy it!”

The longma bowed to the vendor and thanked him in return before keeping their food in his saddlebag. That takes care of their food situation, at least on their end. There was still Lin and Omen, though Sen was confident that they were just about wrapping up their business as well. Lin knew what she wanted to get, which meant she wouldn’t be taking as much time as she wanted. Unless there weren’t that many vendors selling whole fruit baskets.

“I think that’s good for our side. Let’s head back to the entrance to the market to meet up with the others, but I admit, I’m definitely excited to try what we just got!”

“Well… that’s pretty convenient…” Lin stopped for a moment to examine the fruits first. She was rather intrigued by the selection, and it’ll be interesting to see just how Uddo would like something different from the standard fruit baskets when moongrown fruits are used. Still, she isn’t quite ready for a purchase until she knew more. For now, she looked to Omen to voice some of her thoughts.

“This might be nice for a gift for Uddo. It’s like what Rosa got earlier, but I am not sure if he’s tried these before. You know? What have we got to lose? Aside from bits, that is.”

Lin turned back to the vendor, then the basket. Frankly, she was unsure about what she’s getting, other than them being very likely moongrown just like the items she were shown earlier. The berries were apparent, and possibly the only thing she could guess. If they were really getting this as well, then Lin would be adamant about paying this time around.

“What can you tell me about the fruits in this basket? I admit, I’m uncertain about what I’m looking at here.”

If Geist were moved, she did not show it. She were as expressionless as when Magnolia started to speak, and did not say a word throughout her entire story.

When it were over though, she'd speak. The expression however, did not change, but those who knew her, were well aware that to even get a small smile from her, you had to earn it.

"You speak truthfully. Good. I do not entertain liars."

"Will you call your dogs off then?"

Geist dismissively waved a hoof. Nothing were seen for Magnolia, as she were not attuned properly, but Alluria were slightly relieved.

"This town is for us of death. If you do not intent to join us through marriage, you will be harshly tested, til your mettle is proven. Your actions to my son, shall not carry you favors in this task.

Mine shall be the last of the three. Prove yourself before Bone Grinder and Harrow Mist, and then it shall come to me at last."

"I know her words seems harsh, Magnolia, but know it is with reason. Geist's approval is one that must be earned, and if you have potential to do so, the tests of the others will show so. Worry not. I have full confidence that you will succeed. It is more your friend, whom I am unsure of, as I have yet to see her. To stay together, you must do your tests together."

"Uhm, I uh... Don't know if we have shark specific books, but it... I guess, open for everypony, yes? So... Yes. I'm Salt Stone. Good to have you both here. If you'd please uh... Talk to the principal, I guess? Follow me please."

This wasn't his usual gig, to put it simply, but he'd try and be nice, like the studies said. Being friendly and all that, were important. As such, he'd lead them, as best he could. Long as they didn't do something weird(er), it should be fine.

Going through the main entrance, they'd face a long hallway, with branching paths to either side ahead of them. Creatures of several races - most of them teens or younger - would litter it, going about on their own thing, or having chats. The amount of books shown seemed to indicate that studying were serious business here, so that might be one issue for Shark. She didn't know if she could read. She had never tried, and it were hard to say what exactly were among the things, that Anomaly had left in her nogging.

Inevitably, they'd end up stopping up though. Not because they had reached the principals office, but because Shark had suddenly stopped, and were no longer following their guide. Once he noticed, he'd stop too, and look back and what were happening.

It were nothing though. Two ponies were throwing a small, shining ball, in a high curve to one another, from the left and right side of the hallway. Shark had halted as she were standing beneath that, and were following the ball silently, with her eyes. Her head going from one side tot he other, following it, as she stood there, tail slowly swaying from side to side, like a cat preparing to pounce.

"I still say this might be a trap. But yes, I have taken rations with me. There's enough for a few days for the two of us. As said, the manetid doesn't eat what we do. They hunt."

"I don't eat, and I still think you're being too worried."

"Easy for you to say. You don't have a thousand years of loyalty weighing on you. If I let the princess die, and still live myself, I've failed all they fought and died for. I don't have the luxury to be complacent, or gullible."

She may lean into this a lot, but really... What could one expect? Fighting and loyalty, where all she knew. And now, after the Shrine Maidens were let go, this were all she had. She had no one special in her life. No home. No purpose. Without the responsibility of protecting Twilight, and the thoughts of how important it were to keep her family legacy going, she'd only have her sister. And that wasn't going to be enough, to keep her sane. Ponies like her, weren't meant for just one moment to the next, switch to a laid back, carefree life.

"Well uh... Okay. I guess it never hurts to think something could go bad, just in case.

It sounds like we can leave when you're ready, Princess Twilight. Though, can I ask? That Magnolia, who wrote, do you really not know who it is? Does the letter say nothing about who she is?"

Benny were nothing but supportive, and Pop would be the same, How couldn't they be, without being hypocrites? Besides, they lived what they preached, so to speak. They'd seen the ups and downs, and gotten their fair share of judgement, but in the end, they meant too much for one another, to let minor things like that break them apart. And they hoped with would be the same with Dawn and Kaltrops, soon as they had worked out the initial minor issues, that made both of them seem like nervous teenagers.

"Oh, we have plenty, but I'll be honest, the most pressing one I have, is pretty basic: How do you feel? It must be odd being a hybrid sometimes, and I'd honestly like to know how it makes things for you, and if it have caused you any hardships, or issues.

And of course, please, tell us about you, Dazzle. Not just as what you are, but Who you are."

Of course they were curious, due to what she were, but at the same time, they also had a lot of questions just about who she were, as a creature. They'd like to know Dazzle as more than simply a hybrid.

@Sekel

"Aye, she's probably at the hive, but you heard the lady. She ain't keen on meeting her. So we're just gonna make sure they'll get safe and sound to Ponyville, then turn around and see if we can't get to her. We got a lot of things to chat to her about at this point after all.

They stuck with us thus far. Least we can do, eh?"

The trip back to town would actually be rather uneventful. Anomaly had retreated to her forest, and wasn't out doing more odd things, so they could get back nice and comfy. Flaxxy would briefly stop up to have a roaring contest with an ornery, large boar though. The boar took off rather quick though. Normally this would please Flaxxy, but right now, she'd just mumble something about *not as good as the other one*.

Before they left though, Lulu would give Aurora a bit of a conflicting stare, as she had been using her Queen voice. She wouldn't say something though, until they almost reached town.

"...You know, it is rather unnerving, how well you have settled in to your commanding aura at such an early stage. I worry what this might mean for your future, if you decide to go down a less admirable route. I'd advise you do your best, to not learn too much from The Slaver Queen."

"Hey now, she'd reformed, and fuzzy, and... Right over there."

He'd point, and rightly so, Onache were actually here. She were seemingly being inspected by a few foals, and were glaring at them, unsure what to make of their curious gazes, as she tired walking a little here at the outskirts of town, in her new form.

@Sekel

"They're fun! Regular robots are like... Machine creatures, that you can program to make do specific sorts of things."

"That sounds akin to golems. Creatures made of clay, with goals and orders, written upon the scroll, embedded in their head."

"Ooooh, that's kinda the same, yeah! Just older. Hehe, that's so cool.

AI is the same, but where the robot have free will, so they're like real creatures! My big bro made the first one, he tells me, that's a real, free mind."

"Hmph. The first robot maybe. Sphinx have had golems with free minds for thousands of years. Most does not make them so though, as they are prone to going berserk if not handled correctly."

Quite frankly, robots and AI, were exactly like Golems. Just more advanced, and not reliant on religious texts and professionals, nor magic. It were maybe oversimplifying it... A lot, but still, it were easier to think of, if you went along those lines.

"Big bro have two. They're called Carmen and Felicia? You wanna see them someday? His workshop is in Manehattan. Way bigger than mine is, and full of fun stuff. Real easy to see too. Only warehouses everywhere else around him."

"I can most definitely say that I am curious as to your reaction, when it comes to the mushrooms. I find it curious none have been found in your forests, as these things grows nearly everywhere, in some variant. A fair bit of them poisonous however, yet still. Your forests must have some other vegetation that have been overtaking their position in the ecosystem then, I would guess. Though I am not a biologists. I can't say for sure. I suppose I just like speculating about things.

Or I have an unhealthy obsession with hearing myself talk? I suppose, that depends on whom is asked.

Regardless, it is some fine wares. Let us proceed to the meeting place, and then soon enough, gaze upon what our comrades have procured. I am certain there is fascinating things among their picks too."

20 hours ago, EQ_Theta said:

Lin turned back to the vendor, then the basket. Frankly, she was unsure about what she’s getting, other than them being very likely moongrown just like the items she were shown earlier. The berries were apparent, and possibly the only thing she could guess. If they were really getting this as well, then Lin would be adamant about paying this time around.

“What can you tell me about the fruits in this basket? I admit, I’m uncertain about what I’m looking at here.”

The vendor had been a little nervous for a bit there, wondering if perhaps he hadn't been able to entice the longma. Far be it from him, to want to push stuff on others, but it were nice to have sales, you know? It gave him confidence, that he could actually do this, and not fail, like several had told him he'd do, for following this line of work.

He'd almost let out a sigh of relief, when it appeared that there actually were interest. Now though, he needed to sell the wares, by letting them know what they would be getting into.

"That's perfectly reasonable. we'd all know what we're eating, yeah? Let me try and explain then.

The berries are Glitter Dwarfs. They have a very rough interior, much like nuts, but with a more licorice kind of taste. Great for snacking on.

Then there's Cosmos Seeds. They're actually really cool. Check this out."

He'd pull and extra one of these seeds out from his cart, and would slowly peel it, showing off an unfolding dark mass, filled with silvery swirls.

"Cool, right? The fun fact is, they actually taste exactly like bananas. They're just way prettier.

Anyway, the big one here, is a fun one too. Listen."

He'd lift the pineapple, and would shake it. It would sound like a lot of marbles were rumbling around in there oddly enough.

"The Sun Storm is one of the few we have, that isn't night based in looks. The exterior is totally inedible, but on the inside, there is a ton of creamy, sweetly spicy seeds, hanging loose. The shake cracks them lose, and keeps prevents them from growing, but they're still snug and fresh inside the shell. I tend to use them as a center piece. Like a bowl of nuts, kind of.

My personal favorite though, is the Luna's Kiss Roses. No, I didn't name them. I just have to accept the name. I know you normally don't eat flowers, but the petal on these are filled to the brim, with a sweet nectar, in a crackling shell. Some claim they're like fresh grapes, but I disagree. I find these far more filling."

" excuse me, Salt stone? Could you wait for a second?" Light interrupted their walk so he could attend to Shark.

Light would sneak up on shark and give her a boop, as she was fixated to the shining ball.

" What're you up to?" He asked, Shark?

" Maybe later we could ask them what they're playing and join them, but for now I think it's best we meet the Principal, what do you think?"

"The casino doesn't really interest me, even less with the fools throwing away their money having been replaced with the silent stare of a dead pony I never met." Ruby stated rather coldly, the only reason they were here was Spicy "I am curious though, of your plans going forward, did you have a plan of action for the case that Marley would end up returning to his past? And in lesser amount, to whatever extend it is any of my business, are you planning to...proceed, regarding the owner of this place now that the previously mentioned obstacle is gone.

She wasn't interested out of natural curiosity, and rather, she only cared to the extend it affected her, or more specifically, their business.

-------------------------------------------------------

"And it is better that way." Scarecrow said as kind of a continuation to Lyriel's last statement "It matters not if I have no ill intent, what is left of my mind is unpredictable, and truly, less are aware of how to get here, less likely one with hostile mind will learn of it." "If I ever am to threaten this sanctuary of calm now that I'm aware of it's location, you have my permission to do all in your power to bury me to the ground so deep I may never rise again." "But I promise to you, as long as sanity holds on to me, I will do my best to keep anyone with ill will away from this place." he didn't know what the limits of this places defenses were, but since nothing less of wiping him out of existence could truly defeat him, he felt the obligation to protect this place. "Though I am curious, you say mostly animals, is there others beyond myself you have showed your home to?"

----------------------------------------------------

Sheska got out of the way when the hospital staff arrived, letting them do their job in peace, though she broke her silence to inform them in a professional and rather detailed manner about the injuries and what exactly she had done while they did their thing, this was because it would help them to avoid wasting time by closely examining the victims or repeating things already done. When it came to medical knowledge, she was no less skilled than the doctors, in fact, considering the advancement of their world, Sheska probably knew more than any doctor here, but since she had no equipment, she had to leave it to the doctors.

In her own world, something like this would have been as simple as taking care a small cut probably was here, there was a reason why every weapon and soldier there was capable of separating their victims into several pieces, cuts, puncture wounds and other such injuries were pretty much irrelevant if help was fast enough, even someone like her who had to scavenge for equipment had access to tools and medicine that would seem like miracles here

Sheska did not care for thank you's, simply nodding as response, nor did she feel pride, she was a medic and a healer, it was her obligation to help, and she cared not for fame or glory, she either helped or failed, and even in challenging situations there was no pride of success, only relief, her pride came from elsewhere.

She would then make her way away from the spot, her work was done, and as she headed towards her brother who she spotted approaching, she cleaned herself with her magic. If nothing came up before it, she would explain the situation to Trox and Onache after asking if they found anything.

Unfortunately there wasn't much Chega and Sear could conclude from what was left, at best they could assume was that it was a pony or a changeling, or some other pony like species who had disguised themselves as a caretaker and either was from, had visited, or knew someone from where bamboo was more common, not really that helpful besides the fact that it showed that this was not random, and rather something planned, though the victims could still have been random, more information would probably come to light if they survived.

This was really all they could do at this point, so they alerted a guard to what they had found if there was any around, no doubt they would be around at this point? if there wasn't, they'd wait until there was or something happened, and if they found a guard and everything went fine, they too would head back toward the crowd's location.

“I take it you know a thing or two about mushrooms? Are there any sings I should look for if one is poisonous?”

If anyone could figure out which mushrooms, if any, are safe for eating, it would very likely be the healer. Some of their duties require picking herbs and plants in the wilderness and taking them back for use as medicines. Or rather, the healer’s apprentices would handle those matters, but the healer will know exactly which ones can be used. I helps to have already established a positive rapport with the one back home, Arenaria, who could already have some working knowledge on this matter.

For now, the longma would head back to the entrance to the market, though Sen would notice they arrived earlier than Lin and Omen. Perhaps the are still preoccupied in buying their food, which is rather odd as Lin already knew what she wanted. Unless there was something else that got her attention. In that case, the longma would keep an eye out.

Throughout the explanation, Lin looked to Omen to see if she was finding the fruits interesting, though if asked for her opinion, Lin was just about sold with the items on offer. The Sun Storm’s seed would very much be something Omen would like. Spicy seeds are just the kind of thing that she’d try, though the same might not be said for Uddo and Kiba. Only time will tell if they will like the selection, though the variety would still be just as appealing. And speaking of time, they wouldn’t want to linger around too much when others are waiting for them, immediately or otherwise. They still have plans for the evening.

“I think this fruit basket will be perfect for a gift. Could you tell me how much all of this costs?”

"I ask that you braze yourself, for I shall not go easy on either of you. And Alluria? When my son arrives, send him home. I have waited enough."

"I shall."

With that, Geist Reaver would turn around, and walk into the house. If Magnolia tried to follow her, or even touch the door, she'd be pushed violently back a few meters. Though she wouldn't be able to see what it were, the feeling on her chest, as she were pushed, would be akin to that of a large canine paw, around the size of her entire torso.

Regardless if she tried or not though, Alluria would nod to herself, and gaze upon the door with caution in her eyes. She were not as blind to what lurked in front of them, as Magnolia were. Though she wished she were at times.

"And there were the most critical, of those you need to convince. The others will not be as harsh, though don't think she will judge you out of spite. She is a tough mare, though fair. If you do well, she will look upon your actions objectively.

And while you thankfully did not try, I ask you to also be weary of attempting to fight her, at any stage. She holds no weapons, but she doesn't need it either. She commands amalgamations of souls, which living or dead, you do not wish to trifle with.

Have you questions, or shall we move towards the next of your judges?"

@Kujamih

Shark would shake out of her trance, and her tail would stop swaying, as Light interrupted her starring.

"Pretty shiny thing. Like fish in... Suuuun-liiiight. Sunlight. Like fish in sunlight."

She were a shark at heart after all, and seeing this glittering, moving thing, had caught her eyes, and reminded her of sardines, swimming in a flock. Yummy, delicious sardines. Had Light not intervened, she may well have risen up, and tried to pounce on the little ball of magic, but it seemed he had averted an awkward situation. Well, awkward for him perhaps. Shark didn't care about social things like that, nor were overly concerned at others looking weirdly at her.

She'd rejoin Light and Salt again afterwards, though she gave a brief look back towards the ball. The two playing with it, looking at Shark, and smirking a little. Those two were going to end up playing tricks on her eventually, more than likely.

Getting further into the school, they'd soon find themselves at the principals door. Salt would knocked twice, then creak the door open, and point towards the mare in charge, Starlight Glimmer. However, she also seemed to have three other guests here, whom she were finishing a sentence towards.

"- little unusual, I don't see a problem enrolling them."

The guests in question, would be one large, female fox. A head taller than Starlight, and with the slender physique and long tail associated with foxes, yet wearing a kimono, in bright red and gold colorations. The pattern of flowers, being seen heavily across the kimono.

Along with them, were two kits. A male and a female, around the size of an older, teenage pony. One where snow white, whilst the other were nuances of black and grey. Both though, had pale blue eyes, just like the apparent parent. None of them wore kimonos, but had each a large sack swung across their bags, likely containing their needed belongings.

"Thank you. If something happens, you know how to get hold of me. Though I have a few more questions."

"O-Oh uh... Sorry, principal. I didn't know... We'll wait."

Salt would close the door again, and they could wait some. Seemed like the principal had lots to do today, introducing the schools first foreign students from Neighpon, by the looks of things. The country where the magic-heavy trickster foxes, known as kitsune, originated from.

"Oh, I'm gonna pounce Diego, soon as I get the chance. But it's pretty well known the old hag didn't like me, and that her son and I had a little thing going some time back, that she really didn't like. If I start something now, they'll start questioning if either of us had his mom killed. I ain't thinking either of us want that hassle.

So giving it a half year, before starting to publicly go 'round him again. And if they start asking questions? Well then, I had a fun round here recently, of adventure with a new friend on the road, and the goods to show for it. As well as surveillance and witnesses, placing me here for a long while, whilst this grizzly stuff happened. Gonna be tough on them to pin anything on me, heh.

And no, I didn't have nothing to do with this. Just saying, I got an alibi sorted. Heh, frankly, I think about that a lot. Never know when you might need one, eh?

Aaah, but anyway, Marley going off? Bit of a stinger in my plans I guess, but I'll be fine. He's been down before for plenty of reasons, and I had to take in some trusted temp workers. I got in mind who I'll keep around a bit more now, 'til he's coming back. And I'm sure he will. I hear that girly of his, have been 'round my home with him. Here's hoping this ain't another changeling."

She'd raise the bottle, and take a swig to that. Good on Marley, if he found himself someone. Weren't good for 'im to stay single forever. Though it'd be a riot to intro her to his *family* heh.

"Ain't no need to worry, lass. I work with the hush hush sorta types. Ain't no snitches here, and we'll keep up the good work. Gimme a day to gather some leads though, yeah? I think I might have some ideas where to go poke about. You know where I live."

"Earth Mother be willing, your soul shall find peace, before your sanity falters.

And yes, there are those, whom I have shown my sanctum to, before you. The three ponies who found me in the Silver Valley, and believed in me enough to talk my case with the dragons, as well as Nerzhei of the dragons, who faced exile for taking my side. They came with me to this strange land, and in them, I have nothing but trust. One more knows of this sanctuary of mine, yet she asked that I tell little of her, and I will not betray that trust. If one day she confines in you too, you would understand.

She too, is the only one, whom have seen the seed which lays slumbering now, in the soil of my sanctum. Earth Mother be willing, it shall grow strong, and flourish well.

Might I ask you, do you fear to lose control someday? You mention it as possible. Your mind... Is it slipping from your grasp?"

She'd gaze with worry upon Scarecrow, whilst the animals began to more or less ignore him. Some might be curious to sit upon him, but he were currently occupied, so they would not. Regardless of the fact, that it seemed Crow had gone into a slumber. Guess it needed to rest after all.

Technology in some parts of this world, had evolved, to a point where things like this could be dealt with more readily. Yet not in the more traditional, magic-based society of Equestria, and nowhere near as far ahead as what Sheshka were used to seeing. In this world, if you wanted to put one back together that had been torn up, and still have them mobile, that wasn't medical science. That was necromancy. Or some variation of sacrificial magic, which could be just as horrendous to witness, and as the name implied, came at a cost.

A guard would actually notice them, and arrive at roughly the same time as Onache would elegantly flutter down, and land gently on the ground. She were not much for showboasting, or making a loud stomp when she arrived. The same could not be said for this bat pony, who flew down in an arc, and landed with heavy hooves upon the ground, in front of the charred bucket, and what little remained in it.

xxr7FSV.png

He were a rather large fellah, towering a head above most ponies, and as such, were about as tall as Onache, though built far more robust. He wasn't flexing, but it wasn't hard to see that his bulk wasn't fat, but rather muscle. Armor or not, if he decided to kick you in the face, you'd feel it.

He did not seem to want to though, and were more looking cautiously between the collected group. Even raising an eyebrow, as he saw the queen, as he hadn't thought any of those, had yet taken Thorax's path. Things moved quickly it seemed, and so did he need to.

"Halt, please. Officer Stargazer, of the Night Guard. An aid fromt he elder care residential area, flagged me down, and said that there had been an attack? As I assume this is related to it, might I ask you to divulge what information you have on the matter?"

Onache's horn would glow faintly, and Stargazer's eyes would glaze over for a brief moment, before he shook his head, and looked with somewhat suspicious eyes towards her.

"A warning another time, if you please.

So that explains up until you separated. You were at the crime scene, correct? What did you witness, and is this related in some manner?"

Onache had implanted him some memories, of the past ten minutes or so. Nothing major, and could only be from what she had seen, but frankly, she tired of explaining right now, and just wanted them to get on with things. So this were easier.

"Big words you say? I think perhaps Omen is rubbing off on you."

He'd smirk ever so slightly, as he teased Sen a little bit. He knew it weren't meant in the same manner as when Omen did so, yet it were still amusing to him, to hear Sen use a phrase so near and dear to Omen's heart.

"Jesting aside, I'm not a biologist. What ones I know, I learned from books, but if you have other variants, I am hesitant to test it out the old fashioned way. I'd find it better if perhaps as you said, if you find some, try and take samples. Might be we can look it up afterwards. Though if you do not know if they are poisonous, I'd suggest not touching it with bare skin. Just in case.

As for general signs... Assume the worst from the get go. It is sadly very varied, how those plants can be. Some of the most innocent looking, can be rather deadly, whereas others that looks ghoulish, as well as having rather bizarre names, can be surprisingly delicious. It's one of the most confusing vegetables you can come across. Also the one that is best to approach with the philosophy of *If you don't know what it is, don't eat it*.

I couldn't tell you a common theme to them if I wished to, because of that."

He'd pull out a packet of licorice gum from his cart, and offer a piece to Lin, and Omen. The latter of whom took the little box of it, and swallowed it. Without so much as blinking, or averting eye contact. He had to focus on Lin, to not get the small hairs on the back of his neck, to stand on edge.

"Would you like to try? It's hard to explain the taste, without you have some degree of reference. Don't worry, it's fang-friendly gum. It doesn't get stuck between sharp teeth."

Regardless of how that went, he'd have a little flutter in his chest, when he were then told that the sale were going through! Long as the price were right, of course, but it really wasn't that bad.

“I think this fruit basket will be perfect for a gift. Could you tell me how much all of this costs?”

"Only 15 bits. The included wares are mostly table food, so they're made specifically for this, and are rather low maintenance. That's why even with my grandmothers hoofwoven basket, we can sell this at a fair, reasonable price."

From the perspective of moongrown food, this were actually pretty cheap. Especially for a gift basket, with a properly woven basket, instead of just a mass produced box of some sort. Heck, if this were a normal basket with regular food, it would be around the same, if not a few bits more, so this were a good deal, if there were interest.

Since Lin insisted on paying this time, Omen would eat her own coins again. Quite the sight, but at this point, the vendor were feeling a little bit jaded. It didn't weird him out... As much.

There wasn't a lot of time for pleasantries.  Granted they had seen their mother earlier at the spa, but Rising hadn't had the chance to say hello to his father yet.  Rising reached up and put a hoof to his sister's lips to silence her temporarily.  Rising could feel it, not that it was subtle, he could sense it.  The forming tapestry blooming, hidden from the rest of those in attendance, using Lily as an anchor.  Transportation magics, be they portals, teleportation or rifts, all had something important in common.  They needed destination points.  Regardless of how long or instant a transportation spell seemed to take place, magic was always sent ahead to the destination to complete the link and pull the object, or pony, through to the other side.

The tapestry had the familiar thick inky wash to the arcane threads he'd slowly been becoming use to in the works of Harrowmark.  Nothing sickly or corrupt, no wicked harsh strokes to the threads foretelling evil intent.  Well crafted from practiced magics decades or centuries older than the twins.  Rising might dare say the creature that cast this could even catch Dawn's attention.  Thanks to her, Rising wasn't unfamiliar with portals meant for long term purposes.  Within the spell's matrix Rising could see what the portal sought.  A solid object to attach to, followed by a long thread that denoted the object of appearance was a door, a favorite method of Dawn's as well, as Lily had witnessed.

Rising's horn ignited.  A brigade of black wisps leapt at the tapestry and arrested the matrix before it could finish its connection.  To on lookers, the wisps merely looked as if they froze in the air, straining against an invisible object.  Rising exhaled, he was pretty sure his mother wouldn't like the portal of a far away land linked in her living room.  A black wisp shifted down, another to the right, a third up, a fourth right.  The wisped shifted in the air as if trying to solve a complex puzzle.  To Rising, they moved along the threads of the spell and worked to rewrite the destination while removing Lily as the anchor and attaching to himself for the next step.  "Shooting Star Hill," Rising spoke, moving his hoof away from his sister's lips.  "They could have at least called ahead," Dawn exclaimed, annoyed.  "A beautiful overlook of the city the hill is.  Soon after arriving in Manehattan I took~," Star Echo had began to walk down memory lane, but Dawn had ignited her own horn and all present in the room vanished in a flash of rainbow light.

The group appeared on a hill on the outskirts of the city.  Down below, the vast city of Manehattan spread out before them.  On the other side, the fertile land of light, Equestria stretched out before them.  Trees dotted the hill, a perfect place where many of family loved to have picnics.  An amazing view at night when the city was aglow in light.  Rising's black wisps appeared to have finished their puzzle solving and the unicorn turned to the nearby tree.  The wisps zoomed away and splattered against the tree, attaching the portal to it.  Letting his horn fade as the door formed and the portal's connection was completed.

Quite the welcoming party too.  A herald right out of the old history books addressed the group with armed guard awaiting beyond.  The leader of said guard oozed in necrotic magics, reminding Rising of his battle with the skeletons.  Already the dark magics of Harrowmark tingled at the edges of his magic sense, at his mind.  He steeled himself, but Dawn stepped up close to him, feeling his edge.  Rising wasn't going into Harrowmark alone this time.  "He's, umm, charming," Dawn whispered in a small voice, steeling herself for the more grotesque sights she was to see.

"Detective Rising Dusk and family.  Lead on, Raven Spur, High Advisor of the Throne" the detective confirmed the summons, ready to follow back into the land of darkness, taking the first steps forward with family in tow.

"I see... I'll be cautious as well if I see anything shiny so you'd avoid making any mishaps, okay shark." He ensured Shark.

As they continue and head to the Head mares office, salt would introduce both shark and Light, but end up disturbing a previous meeting she is having right now. So he had to close the door once more.

Light had a bit of glimpse on what's inside and got A bit curious.

" I'm happy to see starlight is the head mare in this dimension.... But not happy to see foxes exist here....sigh..." Light gave a heavy sigh, then warned Shark.

" Shark, I know it's not nice to be judgemental, but... You saw those creatures inside? They have many names but widely known as kitsune, tricksters, mischief, or demon foxes... They like to play tricks on any one, so just be careful around them."

He would then turn his attention to salt and thank him.

" Thank you for aiding us here good friend, we will be staying here and wait for the head mare to finish her business, so you don't need to accompany us any further if you have business else where." He bows once more towards salt as a sign of a humble thank you.

“Rubbing off on me, huh? Maybe if I spend more time around you, I might start picking up some of the things you do.”

The longma would lightly and playfully jab the thestral, grinning ever so slightly at Rosa’s suggestion. In truth, perhaps being around Omen got Sen to pick up on some of his friend’s mannerisms and word choices. Then again, words like “biologist” are new to the longma, and big was about the most apt description he could use. As for their current discussion on mushrooms, there was always the chance to get poisoned, and curing it would be a tall order. No one seems to have found one, but that was because no one really got around to trying every fungus specimen they found on the forest floor.

“What you just said about not eating something I don’t know about? That sums up the idea the longma have. No one’s really brought up any mushrooms they found in the forest, and if they did, they’ll either keep quiet about them or they’ll talk about it for one moment before it gets forgotten. Maybe I’ll bring back some samples so we can have a look.”

Sen was content to wait for a while longer for Lin and Omen. Knowing them, they could handle themselves, and seeing as they aren’t in any danger, the delay was likely just finding something interesting to bring to dinner. Something that was proven true when Lin was given a sample of licorice gum. It was all new, with a taste that was unfamiliar. She took the piece offered to her, and she let it sit in her mouth for a moment, her tongue pushing it against the walls of her mouth and letting the taste settle in.

“Hmm… It’s nice that it doesn’t get stuck between the teeth, but I think I need some time getting used to this taste. I never had this before, or heard about it, until now. Where I’m from and grew up, there’s nothing like it. I guess it’s just my tastes.”

“Thank you for the sample, and I guess I’m still going to get the fruit basket. Your grandmother must be pretty good at making these baskets, huh? It looks simple but sturdy.”

The longma brought out her pouch and brandished the requested 15 bits, though she would still be open to chatting with the vendor for a little bit. It’s not like her to be open with conversations like this, but Lin thought about trying to be more approachable and somewhat laid-back. If it helps the bat pony vendor to ease himself after seeing some weird things, that would be a nice secondary benefit. This kind of small talk might come in handy for dinner, or for keeping things casual at the dinner table.

@Starforce

"There is little more you need to know of Geist, at this moment. She is a mare that have had a troubled life, which I am not going to share, except by stating that she have always had to raise her son alone. Nopony knows who his father is, or were.

For him, she toughened up though. Got in control of her life, and come to embrace her responsibilities. She may seem cold and uncaring to you, but as I said, she is fair. For better or worse, what she thinks of you currently, will not cloud her judgement of you, when your trial comes.

And yes, this place holds users of many kinds of death magic. From necromancy, to soul magic. Soul being one who aptly makes use of soul magic, much like his mother, for instance. Next we shall visit one embracing a different kind of it though. Follow."

Soul would lead her along the way, yet not far now. A few houses only actually, to one that certainly fell in more with the surroundings. Or rather, the *garden* did, as the building itself were rather unimpressive. It had fallen apart, and looked like a barely functional ruin, with no protection from the harsh elements, besides a part of roof, that hadn't collapsed, covering over an actual, real life gallows. From it, hung a lifelike, pony-sized doll. Not porcelain, but plush, with a big, stitched on smile on it's dangling face. The tail and mane seemed to be very voluptuous and wild, like a Raggedy Ann, that had gone through a tumble-dryer.

As for the garden? Long grass, with constant movement. At times, one would see a small, felt limb of some sort, move around, but mostly the things within, kept out of sight. As they approached, not a sound beyond the rustling gras were heard, and while they kept out of sight, Magnolia should be able to tell that something with death magic imbued into them, were keeping a close eye on them.

Alluria would lead them right up to the doll, and then halt. After a few seconds in silence, she'd finally roll her eyes, and start to speak.

"I'm not letting you scare my descendant, Stitch Wraith. You can stop pretending."

The doll's head would suddenly move up, and while the eyes were made of stitches, or various colors (one eye being pink, and the other blue), there were life to be seen in them, as a flickering, pale light faintly glowed within them.

"Descendant? Oooh, you finally have one of them come around? I thought I'd need my tail replaced again, before that'd happen. Hello there, descendant of Alluria!"

Still hanging from the gallows, the doll would speak. The stitches making the mouth, animating, and moving around like any regular mouth would, and the voice slightly raspy and hollow, yet brimming with excitement. It were also feminine in nature, making it clear that the doll now speaking, and waving her front left leg in greeting, were female.

"My name's Stitch Wraith. Who're you?"

Whilst he were saying his gratitude and farewell to Salt, Shark would sit down, and try to practice saying the word, associated with the fox-like creatures she had just seen.

"Kiiiiit-suuuu-neeee. Kitsune... Kitsune? Yes..."

It was a funny word for her. As for the others, they could finish in peace, as she thought further on this a little bit, in context with what Light had just told her.

"Oh uh... N-No problem. I guess... I'll be seeing you on campus then... I should go to class. Goodbye."

Salt would give a hasty bow himself, and then scurry along. This had been quite enough social interactions for him for now.

It'd be about three minutes after that, where Shark would simply observe the students going by, before the door opened to the principals office.

"- hope you'll have a good trip home, Miss Hatzuhne."

"I shall endeavor to. Zhing? Hachi? You make sure to be good kits, okay? The elders have put a lot of faith in you. Make them proud."

"We will mother."

The two spoke in unison, before the three kitsune all exited the room. Hatzhune bowing down and giving her kits a big hug each. As she got up, she'd twirl in place, and with the sound of a wind through leaves, would suddenly vanish from sight, leaving only a few pink flower petals in her wake.

As for the kits, they'd look at one another, and then suddenly, up at Shark, who had gotten close, and gave them both a giant, big, happy smile.

"Hello kitsune. You look very fluffy."

She had not taken a single bit of the warning she had been given, to heart. Not a word.

"Woah, you got big teeth."

They were speaking unison, which indicated they were twins, as this sort of unnerving thing, were more of a twin thing, than anything else. Beyond that, they didn't say anything, before bolting in each their own way around Shark and Light, then gather up behind them, and then sprint down the hallway, jumping along like they were in the forest, over hurdles of books and pony belongings.

@Rising Dusk

The setting were not what Raven had anticipated, yet he had kept going, undaunted by things. He had been told this pony could manipulate magic, so it were no wonder perhaps, that he could redirect their gate this efficiently.

"Then let us proceed."

He'd go back through the gate as the first, whilst the knights split up, and now all took their helmets on. It were about time for them to move, and be ready to defend their guests, and as such, they must be clad proper. It would leave out further of what Dawn would consider to be a grotesque sight. Though if this unnerved her, she wouldn't be thrilled by some of the other things they would end up seeing here.

The first they'd see though, were a large, round room. The portal they had there, were the only one active, though there seemed to be room for dozens more, on a bunch of dusty old pedestals. In the midst of the room, floated a large metal orb, which Rising should have no issue, identifying as a foci, tuning to the gate they were now passing through, and giving it stability. Even if the gate would be dispelled, the orb would retain the information, and would allow for easy restabilizing of them again, from either side of the two anchor areas.

Around it, sat two ponies in brown robes, and a muscular diamond dog, meditating, and focusing their magic to ensure the orb were inscribed with the correct, magical memory. It could still be redirected later, though for now, the hill would be the connection point between them.

Beyond that, nothing else were really happening in the dimly lit room, and instead, Raven and the knights, would lead them out of the large oak door that blocked entry to this room - warded from the outside, to keep unwanted beings out of here -   and would lead into a long hallway, made out of stone, lit up with torches on either side of the wall.

They wouldn't get far though, before they'd halt, at a door leading to the right.

"As per her majesty's decree, a proof of cooperation from our side, to the student of the tyrant."

He'd nod towards one of the knights, who opened the door, and revealed it to be a room with a large bed. In which laid Sickle, and next to her on a chair, sat Blighteye, who'd turn and gaze upon them as they neared. His eye enchanted and scanning for traces of magic, he were not as versatile as Rising. He couldn't manipulate all that much, and more simply could see where concentrated magic were, and could then have it moved to be stored in another vessel. Unravelling it, were far beyond him.

"Sickle! Oh my sweet filly, what- Blighteye! I swear, if she's gotten hurt-"

"Shut up, she's resting. I'll keep her safe. Always did. Always will."

It were all the gruff stallion had to say, before turning back to keeping watch over Sickle, as she laid slumbering peacefully, after her ordeal. None of the magic that had been carried by her, were left. Only her natural, dark magic, that could be felt on every being in this country, to a bigger, or lesser extend.

Star and his wife, might see that not only were Lily's concern genuine, but she had not kidded, when she said her daughter were around their age. Though she were showing it more, as there were not access to the same methods that they could use in Equestria, here in Harrowmark. She still held up fairly well for her age though.

"Her majesty give her word, that your daughter shall be cared for, and upon her return to consciousness, shall be escorted to the venue. Provided nothing happens to make her regret this decree."

"I'm not going to cause trouble. Twisted is gone, and with him, my will to follow his heretic teachings."

And a better influence than that of Omen, which might eventually make him start to see if he could eat weird things. Something which he'd end up regretting quickly.

But thoughts about who the better influence were aside, Rosa would begin to look around on beings passing by, as they were waiting for their female companions, and Shrimp. Not a whole lot were there he supposed, but it were nice seeing so many of his own kin, starting to show up to the market. Reminded him somewhat of home, without the underlying paranoia that tended to ooze from most citizens there.

"At the very least, it could be an interesting little thing to do. And knowing whatever they were good or poisonous, could prove good information for your tribe, I would imagine. Were they bad, it changes nothing, but ensures you are now fully aware. Are they good, it could provide another source of nourishment for you. One that is incredibly easy to farm and maintain too, I might add. Well... Far as I am aware at least. I'm sure there are some outliers. But well pass that hurdle if we get there."

I assure you, I don't take advantage of her hobby though. I pay her for every basket, and make sure not to stress her with this. I'd rather not have these fruit baskets for a month, than put pressure on her. She's a lovely mare, who deserves all the love and respect in the world."

A little far maybe for some, but he had nothing but respect for his grandparents, and he wouldn't have others thinking he were perhaps ripping off his grandmother, when it came to these baskets. He'd rather make a loss than do that.

"It varies what sizes and shapes she makes, so these are the smaller ones, but she does at times makes larger ones, or fancier ones, and I then have them filled with the appropriate fruit and veggies, and sell them accordingly. Had six large ones last week, that were sold out within two hours. She were pretty happy to hear about that, and the compliments given about her baskets. I'll make sure she hears yours as well, miss.

And the licorice... It sounds strange to have never tried that to me, but then, I don't know where you, or your kind comes from. Probably some things there I've never tried either.

Its a strange time though. So many new races seen the last few years, or more members of some that weren't shown before a lot. Princess Twilight are really getting her message about friendship out there. Even saw a few kitsune last night, if you can believe it? Just wandering the streets. Usually they don't just do that. It were a mighty strange sight.

Have you ever met a kitsune before They're pretty hard to miss. Not every day you see a large, talking fox in a kimono, so it sticks out."

Accepting the bits with a thank you, he'd hoof over the basket, completing their transaction, before starting to set up his stand proper. He wouldn't mind speaking a bit more as he did so, but he still needed to prep. Evening was just starting after all, and he had to do his to make some more sales. This were a great start to the evening though, in his opinion. Already put him in a good mood.

As the kits left and the place was back to calm, Light could only give out a loud sigh of frustration and relief.

"HAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa....  Do you like them Shark? Luckily we didn't bring any belongings, for I'm sure those young ones have no self control yet. Shall we meet the headmare now Shark?"

If nothing more would happen Light would knock once more at the head mare's door and wait for a sign to enter.

If so he would then greet the head mare with great respect.

" Good day to you Head Mare, Starlight Glimmer. We came here to your school to learn more about our pony culture and friendship. You see our situation is kind of unique sort to say, since we grew up not knowing about the rule of Princess Twilight nor her predecessor, since my mate, Shark Jäger, who is half shark and half pony... Well more pony than shark really, is more accustomed to shark culture than pony.

While I, White Light ,on the other hand lived far from Equestria rule and was always in very harsh circumstances.

Please would you grant us access to your School? We don't have payment but we can work for it if you'd like?"

Light then bows down towards Starlight.

He would also advice shark to do the same.

“I wouldn’t go that far. Maybe I might start with something simpler, but I think you might have trained yourself to not give that kind of information away. If something notices that, they could single you out. I’ll keep my eyes and ears open, and I might just let something slip…”

Sen coyly suggested that last part, winking at the thestral. He liked the idea that he could try learning something about Rosa through observation, though nothing about it could be described as simple. His training from many years back always made it a point to be alert and focused, finding everything about one’s environment and tools to learn what makes them good and bad before making the best use of them. This time around, the stakes were lower, but the idea remained, even if it wasn’t quite the same. It’ll be quite a fun exercise to keep his skills sharp.

For now, things weren’t moving along, and talking about mushrooms could only go for so long. Sen would look around every now and again to see where Lin and Omen might be. If the need arises, he will likely leave his spot to go look for them, but not right now. He’ll stay where they agreed to meet.

And you mentioned something about kitsune? I haven’t seen any around these parts, but my friend and I met a few some time ago. They nursed me back to health when I couldn’t walk after getting injured badly.”

Lin still recalled being healed of her injuries relatively quickly, and being able to walk after believing she’d be crippled for a long time was nothing short of astounding. Even she still doesn’t know how that was possible, but she owed it to them for helping her and Rosa. Knowing some kitsune are moving about in Canterlot must be quite the interesting sight if going by the vendor’s description. Maybe they might see some tonight if they were lucky. Upon taking the basket, she’d check if everything were present and accounted for before leaving to rejoin the others.

“I shouldn’t take up more of your time, but it’s nice talking with you. Before I go, could you tell me your name? I’m sure you know I’m giving this fruit basket as a gift, but I’ve got some relatives who live here. I think they’ll like these fruits and might want to know who they can speak with if they want some more.”
